I always saw the GM's SUVs more as a family's teens/big children hauler than small kids/babies hauler.

Those are mostly in the Shop watching them get repaired. I am the fleet manager at our company and Jeeps are VERY unreliable! Plan on once every 4-6 months going to the Dealer for repairs. I drive a 2017 Yukon...134k on the clock and on MAJOR issue (defective trans went @ 97k, 3k under warranty - so replaced for free) but otherwise no pesky reoccurring issues.

I'd like opinions on this or the ford expedition max for long term. Not a big deal, but no sunshades is a real disappointment.

You can select an option for a place for your purse in the center console - it’s a bit shallower, and it retracts back, pushing the cup holders closer to the second row, and creating space for a purse. I actually use it a lot when I have a passenger in the front!

This mom loves her 2021 Yukon XL! Get GMC to give you one to drive for a while, you will fall in love. I wish it had a fully electronic dash as well, but I am obsessed with this car!! I feel like the coolest mom driving it. I went from a 2013 Buick Regal to a 2021 Yukon XL - what a change, but I will never drive a little car again! My two year old is blown away by the third row seats and has called them the "funny seats" ever since we picked it up! Already took it on a road trip from Michigan to Florida and she was a great road trip car! Also - thankful I got my hands on one as inventory is so bad like you have talked about on your Instagram! Love your stuff :)

We have an XL with the diesel and love it. My son is 6'6 and can ride in the middle and back no problem. 27 MPG on the highway doing 70 through Idaho. If you have 2-3 kids and a dog and want to road trip or tow, this is a great choice. Great review!

I have the Denali in the diesel as well. We average about 26.5mpg on road trips. I waited on the Diesel engine, I just couldn't see myself in the V8 with the gas mileage it gets.

Hands down THEEE BEST mom car out there!!!!! Yukon xl Denali was my mom car for 3 kids and it was absolutely perfect for EVERYTHING! Moving, road trips, the kids it does it all! I will forever love this car. My kids are grown now and drive their own cars but I recommend this suv to all my mom friends with little ones.

I'm currently on the market for a new and larger SUV than my current Sorento, and while the Yukon/Yukon XL are at the top of my list, I've watched probably 15 of your other videos including ones for vehicles that aren't on my list at all. I just really like your reviews! Whenever I go to an auto show or dealership, I'm always armed with a tape measure and notebook and write down all my thoughts on pretty much every single thing you comment on in your reviews. I agree it does look a little smushed. The cup holder issue also really bugs me. I try to always take drinks and stay hydrated.

We're coming from a 2016 Yukon Denali into a 2021 Yukon XL Denali. One of the features that we loved in our 2016 is one we didn't even know we wanted: Electronic Child Safety Locks. The 2021s don't have them. With children varying in age from 1 month to 18 years old, being able to control the rear safety locks with a push of a button was such a convenience. Super disappointed that the new generation is missing it!

they have manual child locks on the sides of the doors, which is very odd for a 2021+ vehicle. what a pain in the butt to remember every time. what genius thought that was a good idea

Nice review, I think your perspective of Mom Review is good but also give so many details many reviewers glance over. Great job! Only thing I might suggest is talking suspensions differences in trim models as that does really effect the ride. Husband and I just purchased a 21 Denali and was also cross shopping the GM stable mates (Tahoe z71, Yukon at4, and Escalade) and 18/19 used versions of these too (they crazy with prices these days! We personally thought the new Denali rode so nice and to us was worth the tech upgrades you get in the higher price. Not sure were you are in MO, but my husband just accepts a job for UMHC so if you’re in that area key a look out for tri colored standard length. Great job again!

I have a 2012 Yukon xl Denali. They all drive like trucks but you get used to it. I love how spacious they are. We are looking to upgrade in the next year or so and I’ll definitely be sticking with Yukon xl Denali for sure.

We’ll in all honesty, I’m not surprised that it drives like a truck. It’s almost the same platform as the GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado. Just with independent suspension. And if you equip it, the center counsel can actually move backwards to fit extra bags or purses. But great review👍🏽

After watching this one and the ford expedition. If I was purchasing I would 100% go for the expedition. It seems a lot more family friendly, with the access to the 3rd row, space etc.

I can’t believe they got rid of the door cup holders in the second row?! The 2020 has them and I absolutely love them!

Yeah smh, but I’d still take the 2021 any day. The 2020 third row has that step thing that makes you eat your knees. That’s a bigger deal breaker than some cup holders

I am also rich but I prefer to ride in the most most boring trucks/vans, it just feels like home to me.

I agree, no sunshade for the second role is a deal breaker for me for a $88k car. Otherwise I really like this Denali as it is much nicer than a suburban ZR/limited but not look like a celebrity chauffeur car like Caddie Escalate. If I buy such a lux truck, the last thing I want is everyone thinks I am Kardashian’s chauffeur. Great detailed review! Only thing I want more for this car is 35’ screen like the new Escalator.

Would love it if you could do the same for the 2021 Chevy Tahoe. The trunk is supposed to be bigger in the new model. We want to see if an UppaBaby Vista stroller can fit with the third row up. Thank you!

On our 3rd bus & love them can’t see going smaller. Drove it through Boston no problem today. I back up into tight spaces.

I have a 2021 Yukon XL Denali and absolutely love it! Mine actually has a few more features than the one you toured, such as the 2nd row entertainment system. My Yukon XL Denali has all of the available features except for two (the power console and the air ride adaptive suspension). I have a rear facing car seat and a high back booster in my 2nd row captain’s chairs and have no problem getting my daughter into her rear facing seat. If you slide the front passenger seat all the way forward and slide the 2nd row passenger seat all the way back, there is plenty of room to access the 3rd row, even with a high back booster placed in the seat. My husband drives a Ram 3500 dually and I do not feel like my Yukon XL drives like a truck at all.

I got the 2022 Denali ultimate package. Mine came with the air ride suspension and the updated digital cluster. Coming from a BMW X5, I think the Yukon is a pleasure drive. I also have a pickup truck. It doesn’t feel like one. I’m also really glad my friends talked me into an XL over the standard wheel base.

@@shannonroper8815 I really, really, really love having the xl but I utilize the third row a lot. I’d go for it. I drive my kids’ friends around a lot. I never have to put the third row down because the trunk is still huge.

I just ordered a 2022 Yukon xl SLT diesel. 4 kids in diono car seats and a quad stroller makes my 17 yukon tiny. Thanks for having a video with car seats in the vehicle it's rare to find.

One thing that would help is trunk measurements of width height and depth so we can see if different strollers etc will fit 😊

So one of the things I didn’t like about the expedition max was the visibility between the 1st and 2nd row so you’re saying the new Yukon’s have the same issue? Did you feel like the expedition had better visibility?

I have 3 kids (7,4 and 10 months) and have an Explorer. I’ve never really found having doors an inconvenience? 🤷‍♀️ It’s definitely still manageable with 3 kids.

How do you get a carseat in the third row? I find the headrest (non-removable) causes the seat to sit more upright than it should. Also, the seat is not slightly reclinable, so it's a bit of a pain. Really have to think about who will be sitting there. If anyone has figured this out, please let me know

Honestly if anyone is debating about getting this car but is holding back because they think it’s too big and will be too hard to park just go for it, trust me you’ll get used to it in less than a month.

ours has the rear entertainment option, which is great. it has 2 hdmi ports and a full power outlet so we bought a $50 roku streaming stick for one of them and the kids can stream netflix, disney plus, youtube, youtube tv, noggin, hulu, etc right on the screens attached to the back of the front seats

I love this SUV! I am in between a Tahoe and this, but not the XL version. I can't wait to finally purchase my mom car.

The only problem I have with the Tahoe is that all the safety features do not come standard. I ordered the diesel Yukon.

I’m mad they got rid of the hidden storage behind the screen. My 2015 Tahoe LTZ has 260k miles on it and I’m looking at the new Suburban and that’s my only complaint. I use it all the time and I keep a couple things in there, and it’s great because I can lock it as well.

I'm wondering if I can comfortably fit 2 adults, 1 carseat, 1 stroller, and 2 great danes.

How is it legal to have no head restraint in any seating position? It shouldn’t be!! Fun review as always!

I thought the same but realized there's no head rest for the 3rd row middle seat most likely so the driver has no obstructions when using their rear view mirror.

I agree about the front end . . the designers could have cropped the front of the hood to slope down a little and move that horizontal edge trim down to the "new" top of the grill ( making the grill a few inches shorter ) It wouldn't stand out so much that way. I guess they WANT it to stand out !!! I don't mind all the tiny chrome pieces throughout the grill - it's just TOO BIG !!! I'm waiting to see if they do something like this in the fall to the 2024 models, then I'll buy one. GREAT video, as usual !!!

I know you keep calling it a car, but a Yukon Denali is classified as a truck. Same with the Ford Expedition Max it is classified as a Truck as well. SUV's in general are all classified as trucks and some of your smaller SUV's can be crossovers.

Yep! The reason it drives like a truck, is because it is in fact a truck.

I dont mind the look of the new front end. But I do care that shortening it may have caused them to squash the engine bay. On the gen 3 changing certain components was a day long task. Look up the diagram for where the oil pressure sensor is located. That is a pain in the a** to change.

2021 is what my wife and I are looking for.

Thanks for the video. I am planning to buy a Yukon SLT with bench seats. I'm going to assume 2nd and 3rd row will be exactly the same as Denali XL. My question - if the car seats are in the second row and the grandparents are in the third row, does that mean the car seats need to come off every time they need to get in?

Short answer yes. Only way to not have them come out is if you put the car seats side by side assuming there are 2 children. Then the empty seat by the door can roll and flip forward for 3rd row access.

Yes. They don't have the tilt seat like the enclave. They only fold for access

My wife really wants the 2021 yukon denali, but we can't afford it. I'm so broke I can't even pay attention

Chrome makes the grill look busy and overwhelming…… the grille especially. I do like the infotainment screen built into the dashboard and center panel. Some modern designs look like they built all the technology and features then asked……how are we going to control and display the information and added the tablet after….2020 Ford Explorer perfect example…12” tablet that doesn’t have a way to turn to landscape and reduce the busy look of the center instrument panel. Mom Bun…..never heard that…..funny You are not the only reviewer to comment on forward view when parking. I say like taxiing a 747 airliner into a glass of water. I would strongly recommend that you find pull thru parking spots. HUD sounds good but having to spent the Denali premium and the. The $11,000 Denali Premium package. I believe I specced out a 4X4 Denali regular length and came in around $85K. Make a serious note especially if the build date is after around May 2021…….four fairly common items are being removed due to the worldwide computer chip shortage. 1. Auto Start/Stop……$50 credit…..which I would pay $50 to have the option of removing or disabling. 2. Wireless Charging pad 3. Steering column lock. This is a anti theft feature so torn on that one. Sorry only three…..Auto Stop is not necessary but keep the lower fuel economy in mind. Great review and I say get Denali….go big or go Home. I don’t tow anything but the tow hitch receiver can be a good place to tether my dog to at outdoor events…..ask me how I know….he can be tethered but enough slack in the leash to crawl under the vehicle in the shade. With the V8 expect about five-six hours of good comfortable ride while still keeping a good fuel safety margin. Haven’t had opportunity to test a 2021 Yukon yet but With the last generation (2015-2020) had rentals and about five solid hours. Comfortable ride, smooth and excellent commanding views from drivers seat. Last rental was a Yukon XL and with limited cargo I was able to fold both 2nd and 3rd. row flat and my dog had pretty much the entire back to himself..Even tethered to the seatbelt he had room to stretch and move his seating/sleeping positions.

Made it to the NO SUNSHADES?! omg... moving onto the ford expedition! Thankgod for carmom
