We traded a 2015 Pathfinder for a new 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and were blown away. We are a family of 5 and will never badmouth minvan owners again. The deals were so good, we managed to trade in our 2018 for a new 2020 Limited "S" hybrid and actually came out ahead in the loan (federal tax credit and huge chrysler discounts). Super nice van to drive, it's both faster and handles way better than our pathfinder did. So far we managed 2,550 miles out of a single tank of gas and still had 1/4 left. Yes, you read that right, 2,550 miles from a single tank of gas thanks to the EV range. We typically do 75% of all our driving in EV. Can't say enough good things about it. It's comfortable, has a TON of features and lots of space inside for our family. Deals are so good again, we reached out to our local dealer and are considering trading our 2020 for a 2021 Limited "S" hybrid. :)

It is of no wonder why Chrysler continues to be the king of the van. They literally thought of everything. Efficient packaging, features, the best infotainment, and still the only PHEV. What is even more remarkable about the Pacifica Hybrid is that it is actually a better value than the standard models due to prices being remarkably similar and the $7500 tax offset for buying it.

@@Blahblahblahblahhhhh In general, yes. But the 2019+ Pacifica is refined and not like the old Chrysler/Dodge cars of the past. Looking it up, its surprising a good van that can go toe to toe with the Japanese. The Crash rating is on par with the 5th gen Honda. Toyota is #1, but not by much. Reliability is actually good. I guess this is also why Chrysler is discontinuing the older cars.

If your thinking of getting the Pacifica you should get the plug-in hybrid. As long as you don't mind that the second row seats don't fold into the floor like the third row. We love ours.

You will have to warranty coverage outside Canada and the USA unfortunately.

My grandparents have a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan and it's really interesting how similar the interior looks to this. It's not a bad interior, it's just interesting how similar it's stayed

It is still the Chrysler style. I generally don't care for it, still a bit on the cheap side. But it looks like they have vastly improved the assembly and parts so it doesn't fall apart. Unlike their older vans and cars tend to start falling apart after a year or so. I am not a fan of the dial gear shifter. I don't consider that safe, it's next to the radio volume knob. Shifters SHOULD be different from console buttons and knobs. The Honda Odyssey shifter is a group of ugly buttons and levers that takes up a huge amount of space. SMH. The USB/HDMI/Displays built into the seat is an excellent idea that the Japanese makers should be doing. It makes more sense. The stow and goal seating is still a nice thing. Taking out a 2nd row seat out of a Honda = not fun. * Stow 'N Go is for ICE only Pacificas and those seats are very thin,uncomfortablee for adults and larger children.

Howdy, great review as always y’all! I’m impressed, though trucks, sport cars, and vans have always been FCA’s strong suits! That being said, given the negative publicity around FCA reliability, I’d be a little weary getting one of these, though only time will tell. Also, I think it will be interesting to see how much the new Kia Carnival shakes up the market! I always have found the less than perfect mini van and lack of a truck to be Hyundai/Kia’s weakness!😸😸

Seems like the Pacifica PHEV is the only way you should buy a Pacifica. It's much cheaper (with Fed Tax Credit), gets better mpg, and still has the V6.

We bought a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited S two weeks ago. The engine shut down/stalled while driving on the freeway and the van had a massive electrical malfunction. This happened dozens of times on surface streets as well. Chrysler took the car for a week, couldn’t “recreate” the stall and gave it back to us. The next day, back to stalling. Terrifying to have you car shut off while driving 65 miles per hour on the freeway with your children in it. Live Videos of electrical malfunction on my channel

The whirring is the motor on the input shaft to the transmission acting like a cvt transmission. There are very few moving parts in this transmission and no real clutch packs or belts like an auto or cvt world normally have. I think that's a plus. There's far less to break. There's not even a reverse gear. Just electric motors for reverse.

We own the Pacifica hybrid van and love it. The only thing that would make it better is for it to be all electric with a long range of at least 300 miles.

REVIEW THE 2021 SUBARU OUTBACK TOURING!

The websites have been claiming that the touring L has ambient lighting, where exactly are the places that have ambient lighting?

I bought the Pacifica Hybrid before a month. The hybrid system has a serious flaw. I got the Service charging system error when I charged the car in a public charging station. Before starting to charge I got a message to check external charging system but later it allowed me to charge the vehicle. But after I stopped the charging I got this error. Neitherthe vehicle was moving nor I was able to turn off the car. After 5 min of trying different things finally it worked after I tried to stop car without applying the brakes. I did not see the error after that. I am planning to take the car to the service center for diagnostic test tomorrow. Fingers crossed. But this a pretty serious issue which Chrysler needs to fix. Since the car is hybrid atleast the car should run on gas and not completely stall. Did someone face the same issue and do you know how to get it resolved?

It's hard to say without having them all back-to-back, but I can say that all of them are supremely comfortable. Especially if you choose a model with small rims like this one

2021 Sienna noise level reading: 52.7dB (kzread.info/dash/bejne/ioSJkqOQhJepp7Q.html at 23:11) 2021 Pacifica noise level reading: a little over 60dB (this video at 19:19) The Sienna was tested when gas engine is off. Sienna's engine sound is so loud and ugly when on. This is not fair. BTW you guys are the ONLY ones who do the noise level ready on EVERY vehicle. Keep up the great job!! Suggestion: you should also test driver door shutting sound as well to see how solid it is, because that's the easiest way to tell the difference luxury cars and economy cars.

I had 3 caravan and 1 Honda Odyssey, no problems with the Caravan, but major issues with Honda…!!

Lower trims .... where is my center armrest ..... buy the upper trim ...... get's home with the upper trim ..... where is my stow'n'go ..... oh yeah..... thats on the lower trims..... that makes a lot of sense project managers .... and you make how much money again ?

I do like the Pacifica and want to thank you for using the Touring L model. Many use the top trim models for their reviews and many will pick a middle level trim vehicle. I’m not sold on hybrid technology yet so I would opt for the V-6 in any vehicle I get. While I like this van I would probably get the Honda Odyssey for our next vehicle. I feel the Honda has a better reliability than the Chrysler Pacifica.

The Honda is a good van too. And I like that it has the excellent Honda 10spd. But the Honda still uses the 20+ year-old J-Series V6 that has to have half the engine torn down at 100k miles to change the timing belt changed and water pump.

Didn’t think that was possible, of course there are those rating folks that rate a car based on how much money the manufacturer gives them. Seriously I like the looks and interior design of the odyssey better. The only thing that makes me want a Pacifica is the stow away seats, why Honda and Toyota don’t follow that example does have me scratching my head.

Starting at 12:37, you REALLY should show us how far back the 2nd-row seat can slide to create the max space. The legroom shown is A LOT less than the Sienna because Sienna has the "super long sliding" for the 2nd-row seat. That's why I am curious how far back the Pacifica can slide.

Why is there a gas tank? As well its an electric minivan there shouldn’t be a gas tank. Unless it’s a combination of both electric and gas. Please tell me why a gas tank is there when there is no need for it.

This is a PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle). That means it has a small battery to charge up and if it depletes then there is still an engine as backup

I do not see the point paying for optional navigation map when Android Auto and Apple Car Play are already built in features in all trims.

@@allisonbateman5663 Then I am a cheapskate since I bought a lifetime upgradable maps (while connected via usb to computer) portable cheap Garmin GPS which works in any 12 V socket in any vehicle no matter how old it is as long as it is using 12 V system not something ancient based on 6 V.

Leased a Pacifica for 3 years. Sooooo many issues and problems. I couldn’t wait to give it back. By far the most unreliable of all. I’ve had the Sienna and Odyssey and never had one problem. My Siena had over 75k mileage as well.

As internet shows the problems were solved in 2019. This is 2021 model completely redesigned. Most people are impressed so far. We will see how it hold in the long run.

@@nevco8774 you really won’t know how reliable a car is until after the first 100k miles. It depends on how long you keep your cars. I hate car payments so I keep mine 10-15 years. That’s why I didn’t go with the Pacifica. I don’t trust it long term.

@@dolphinsmadden I own a 2018 Pacifica for 6 months. No issues yet. The battery recall is due to be fixed now in November. The ride quality is much superior of Honda or Toyota. Clearly a no less than pure EV range of 30 miles does get appreciated by me a lot. Removable second row seats is a cool feature. I have listened to Internet and got scarred wasting money on extra warranty until 150 k on odometer. The power and acceleration uphill in mountains is no comparison with Toyota hybrid and it has even more oomph than Odyssey. The seats are cooled and heated in front, adaptive cruise control is so useful. 2 panoramic sun roofs are useful for scenery watching in the mountains as regenerative braking downhill the steep mountains without using brakes like in Toyota since there is plenty of available kW in 18 kW battery to regenerate into unlike Toyota’s 1.5 kW.

Found out how bad Pacifica hybrids are, I'm going to have to get an "only gas" Pacifica until Chrysler comes up with a all electric Pacifica, that will be probably in 2025. Hybrids battery, when charged 100% and then depleted in the same day and charged again full, the poor battery can't take anymore after 365 days of swelling and contracting, charging and discharging. The only solution is to keep them from getting damaged is to charge up to 80%, which will give you power to drive 25 miles instead of 30 miles, on ev only. I don't want any chances, I'll just get an ICE minivan

Is a tax credit available for this vehicle? Family member is waiting to take delivery.

As mentioned, had a 22 SXP + tow pkg… smoke & mirrors. They look nice but aren’t. Plus ’ll take the electric miles any day over guzzling Telluride.

Mine only has 6k miles on it, then I got the “service battery at dealer” message and it won’t start. I had it towed to the dealer, and they’ve had it for a week and can’t fix it - they said they don’t know what’s wrong? What are my options? I’m shocked - this is a 2021 50k+ vehicle with just 6k miles!! Even more frustrating - they don’t have a rental car available which is part of the warranty agreement! Someone please help!

@@tom_marsden The new Sienna has predicted reliability and just out a a half of a year and not a good sample included in the annual survey. But like most Toyota's that are redesigned they never make the Top 10 list in reliability the first 90-days. Actually no major Japanese brands is reliable the first 3-months. Not sure why people over pay for them today?

Just wait until the Kia Carnival comes..... the Kia Carnival will make this minivan extinct,
