Genesis as a brand rated 144 by J D and power while bmw rated 188. Bmw wins the reliable brand. Consumer reports puts bmw third place behind toyota and Lexus.

If you haven’t driven the G70 3.3 you have no business saying how much better the BMW is. I’ve had both, and now have the G70. It’s an awesome car, and is comparable to the BMW in every way... except the price. And of course, doesn’t have the same badge appeal. Badge appeal will come in time. It’s ignorance to say the car isn’t as good... it was actually designed/engineered by the former head of the M division at BMW. You can tell once you drive it

I own G70 (2021) and i can say one of the best decision buying this car. Love it.. i own before Audi S4 , and its no near to Genesis.

How many time do you call a Lexus a Toyota during a review? What's with dropping Hyundai and Kia into the mix. Call it a Genesis and leave it at that. Otherwise next review on an Infinity I'll expect you to call it a Nissan all video long.

A lot of modern luxury cars are becoming rather difficult to sell used. They require a lot of maintenance and the electronics tend to become insane money pits; savvy shoppers know this. Plus the trend moved, and continues to move towards SUVs and CUVs, further making the depreciation of luxury cars all that much worse. If you want a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes to have good resale you must buy a SUV. Even then the depreciation is _MASSIVE_ in the first 5 years. A BMW X5 may sell for $55k and 5 years later resell for $25k. In my opinion, luxury vehicles are nice to lease, but don't ever buy a new one.

@@uberragen2181 you only lease if you want a new one every 3. I kept my "Luxury" Vehicles for more than that. My Infiniti G37XS lasted 8 years before suffering the sun roof leak. And I still get almost 11K on it after laying 34K. 33% resale. It only have 60K miles and is in good condition. My Acura MDX is on its 7th yr. Prob gonna get like 12 years from it. I now have an M340i which is prob one of the best Sedan out there. My GT4 value still holds as usual.

I had the money for a BMW. It just didn't do 15K extra. I'm talking 2019 model year. Hell ,even the 2021 isn't worth 15k extra. I'm very Happy with my 2019 Genesis G70 3.3.

@@scottthomson9813 Its weird, but it kinda makes sense, since there is no difference between the 2020 G70 and 2021 G70. However, a lot of other things weren't logical in the review.

One of the best "features" of the G70 wasn't even mentioned. Its concierge services which treat you like royalty and their 5 year included maintenance. Oh and of course, its far superior reliability

If you are fortunate to live within 50 miles of dealer willing to honor the concierge service. My dealer says its too small to honor it.. I may not buy another G70 because of poor dealership experience.

Hyundai's Genesis division is making moves. Which means we the customers reap the rewards of competition of the mighty sport sedan class🤙🏻💨

Oh, this is a slow-paced comparison.

Also in the Canadian cars if you disable stability control and traction control and leather it you get 100% rear wheel drive.

As far as the infotainment system goes the G70's is really easy to use because Hyundai has it sorted out well. I'd prefer that any day over an impossibly complex one developed just to be different like some manufacturers do. Then all the reviews complain it doesn't work..

Yeah. $20k price difference and g70 gives 100k warranty. Ill take g70 over that problem prone Bummer any day. Ive sold my 2yrs old BMW M4 for 2021 Veloster N dct.

$58k vs $72k. That is a pretty easy decision to make given the G70 is at least 80~90% the car the M340i is.

Plus you have to add $ to BMW to account for the much higher maintenance and repair costs and the headache of dealing with it. I own 2 10-year old high mileage Japanese luxury cars and neither have been back to the dealer since they were purchased. I think the G70 would be similar.

Lol. This two cars not even in the same price range. In Canada 3.3T sport listed $51k brand new, same year m340i is $76k. That’s huge price difference.

I think many prior bmw 3 series owners have moved on to Tesla. With the crazy high price, it’s not worth the premium. Based on the recent sales numbers (at least in the US), bmw can no longer hold on to its customers like it used to.

kind of misleading . When BMW says base price, you get zero tech. so price difference is really large once you include all the tech. No way you can justify the price difference between these 2 cars unless Brand name /recognition means everything to you .

I own both a BMW and Genesis- for me personally the G70 is the winner hands down! The driving, control and most importantly all the additional features that it has, kicks the BMW out of the park. Also, reliability issues- german cars don't run the test of time!

Did you ever even go full throttle in your video? nothing wrong with people driving like slow and safe I mean that's the way we should drive But you are reviewing performance cars that people buy because they want something that's nice but also fast. You said in your video "why can't you let us Canadians have fun" dude are you serious?

I really like the looks of Genesis G70 3.3T, BMW 330i, new Acura TLX, and Mercedes C300. However, don’t like the half covered fakeness at the top of the BMW grille. My recommendation: “Show don’t tell.” In 2:09 and 2:16, If you are talking about how the rear seats are useless, then actually show how they are useless by actually sitting in the damn car. Otherwise the entire point is about as useful as watching a brochure. The interesting thing is that the Genesis G70 3.3T AWD is very similar to the Kia Stinger GT. However, the Kia Stinger GT’s interior is identical the older Hyundai Elantra Sport interior. Now that’s not to say the Elantra Sport has a bad infotainment; in fact the Hyundai Elantra Sport’s leather interior is just as good as Lexus/Toyota, Acura ILX/Honda, and Infiniti/Nissan. The biggest loss is the Hyundai’s lighter doors, cheap glove box, and lighter/cheaper feeling touch points like the visor/sunroof.

Hmm. Hyundai has one of the nicest soft touch points...and the Stinger/G70 are very luxurious inside. For the infotainment, most brands share map and home menu layouts. They have a wonderful and easy to use infotainment system. Best navigation I have seen. Prefer it over google maps.

Anyone who drove these two cars back to back would know which is better, enough said.

My first impression: Genesis looks Gorgeous. BMW looks kinda ugly parked right next to Genesis.

Not sure what snobbery has to do with any of this. If it was a base, entry level BMW and Mercedes without any options then okay sure, they just wanted the badge. The M sport and AMG sport line are actually really amazing. I've owned quite a few of these and the G70 or Kia Stinger really don't compare. They are a great value proposition, yes, but if money isn't an issue in this segment, then the Germans are still better cars. The AMG especially look amazing, sound amazing and drive amazing. You do have to pay to play.

BMW pioneer... full stop.

This review was hard to watch, and this is coming from someone planning on purchasing a bimmer.

How can you order that exterior color on the BMW?

Refined?? It has a way louder cabin, tons of farting, and cheap hard plastic all around the doors where you put your hand, unlike Genesis where it's all leather. No ventilated seats too. The steering wheel is very hard to turn on the parking lot in the 3 series. Where is the superiority lol?

Not being a cheap pos Korean car. There is a reason why they depreciate like trash and don't last. The cam shafts are soft metal and barely last and score by 160,000kms. Unlike bmw engines that last for kilometers and kilometers. I will give you the ventilated seats, there's no cheap plastic in the bmw, its firm, sturdy and no creaking. You must be thinking of Merc Benz.

@@kingkage7km BMW has terrible reliability, and most of them become junk yard trash after 100,000 miles. That's why they only offer a warranty to 50,000 miles. They have oil consumption issues, electric issues, etc. P.S - The plastic is firm, and squeaky...and becomes rattly with age.

@@DMCarReviews everything will get creaky with age. It's plastic, it'll warp with temperature cycles. All engines consume some sort of oil, my 2009 Toyota Corolla did and that's as bullet proof as it gets (4.4L at fill, 2.9L at drain with fully synthetic oil and 8000 km interval changes). Yes some BMWs are junk but most are built to last. Hence why I have 2 of in my garage right now both over 200,000kms. Genesis has barely been a standalone brand for very long so there aren't that many examples of highly driven cars.

Most cars are afraid to race my g70... ha ha.

No drag race always makes a boring review! But overall the BM is the better car , the steering wheel on the genesis is ugly , can’t compare to the BM.

BMW looks better, sounds better, doesn't share infotainment system with an Elantra, has more backseat room, more power, and goes faster.

@@slappadabass1977 nah. Even if I drive the G70. Its not gonna compare to the m340i. 2 things. Engine and Transmission. The B58 is probably the best Sports Sedan engine out there. The 8 spd ZF is also fantastic. That I do not give lightly. I am a PDK fan through and through and this ZF is close to a PDK. Does the G70 do a 3.8 or 3.9 0-60? Nope.

None of the reviews will say that the Transmission is better than the 8 spd ZF. To which I had the category that I chose over the G70. You have to had those two first before you can convince me to drive a G70. Suspension might be good but none of the reviewers will take the G70 over the M340i had the price been the same. There is a reason its priced 10K below it.

If you lease, BMW... If you buy, G70. Wouldn't want to own a BMW after the warranty is up.

You do know that Genesis is Hyundai therefore it doesn't share parts it is a Hyundai. It's just a marketing trick to sell Luxury cars like Honda sells Acura or Nissan sells Infiniti and Toyota sells Lexus

But you don't see anyone saying why not just buy a BMW instead of a Rolls-Royce or why buy a BMW when you can get a Mini...because that argument is stupid just like the argument you're trying to make. I’m born and raised in Germany 🇩🇪 and don’t buy German cars because they break sadly but they do have best interior hands down. I got g70 3.3t even tho I had an opportunity to buy an m4 with 11k miles for the same price which should say a lot. Genesis is just getting started they have a lot of money to innovate that’s why they hired Albert who designed the m3 to design the g70 they also hired engenders from Audi and Bentley.

Everything that Genesis makes is Hyundai.
