This is probably the best boat review of a modern boat I've ever watched. Why does no one else ever lay down on the beds/settee? Its always so hard on video to get a feeling for the size of the cabins and seeing a real person in them made a big difference. Same thing with actually untying the boat and leaving the dock. Maneuvering in the harbor around a dock is one of the hardest parts of boating and yet most reviews don't show any of it. Seeing how you, as a single person, were able to untie the boat, give it a gentle shove by hand, and then leave the dock alone was great. I would have appreciated some numbers with regard to wind speed, angle, and boat speed while you sailed but everything else about the review was excellent. Truth is this boat is out of my price range by probably 10x, but if I ever find myself with the means to have something like this you can bet this one will be remembered.

second season with a Oceanis 30.1 with swing keel and tiller. A simple back stay (using the topping lift as upper backstay) is possible to add, starting with the first reef (which is needed quite quick with upcoming wind). Tiller stearing with autopilot is perfect. The benches with full lenght (not with the 2 weels) are suitable to lay and sleep with comfort. The simple backstay really helps to keep the front stay from curving/bending too much. We sailed it from Kiel to Skagen several times, wind in all conditions up to 34 knots (in maximum, but behind islands). Heading at wind force 5-6 in wave conditions isn‘t what you really need. But angles from 70…140 are really fun, as well 180+/- with gennaker to windward side (works perfect). The code 0 is the funny sail as well. The large storage takes a double SUP, 2 smal bycycles, all the sails, 2..3 large boxes, etc.. The larger plattform is a good option as well. I don‘t regret the choice of the this boot. ~~_/)…

Hi! Could you provide the details on the retractable mast mentioned at 5:44? How long does it take to put it up and down? How is it secured down while underway? I have a fixed bridge between my slip and my potential sailing area and this would be PERFECT if it can be done in just a few minutes each way. Thanks! Great content! Nice review overall, I'm still not convinced that I would replaced my First 265 for the 30.1. Who makes the deployable ladder on the starboard stern rail ?

Are solar panels powering electric motors, catching on? Are yacht shipyards creating a solar powered model?

I like this boat , impressive room for a 30 feet boat, I'm thinking to order one. I love the canvas. Is the canvas an option of Beneteau, or is something that have to be ordered apart?

Hi! There IS a factory canvas option, but this is custom work done in San Diego for this client by our dealership and Memo's Custom Canvas. Thank you!

Is it possible to cheat the main sheet to the helm?

Can it be added in an microwave?

There is almost no space behind the steering stand. Don't you fall?

I can't afford this 30.1, but this episode always gives me a lift. It shows just how extremely bad other salesmen are and everything you're going to like on the Beneteau. You want to drop one in the water and sail to Gloster with kids and snacks.
