2020 Volvo XC90 Review: Before You Buy

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription is a stunner. This 3 row SUV is packed with a lot of luxurious features, tech, safety, and a really interesting powertrain. This T8 eAWD Plug In Hybrid starts at just over $73,000 and is equipped with a Twincharged 4 cylinder engine that has both a turbocharger, a supercharger, and two electric motors, making a combined 400 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque.

I own a 2019 XC90 T8 Inscription... > 40,000 miles now and still flawless. The performance was actually dialed back with a software update, it used to be 0-60 in 5.3 seconds and quite a bit more aggressive off the line, but that cut back on range - and I suspect durability. We opted for the 2020 software update which eased up on how hard the battery was drained, this extended all-electric range to the 2020's 18 miles at the cost of a little acceleration off the line. At speed, though, there's no noticeable difference, and fuel economy went up about 1.2MPG overall and the brake feel was improved considerably, so definitely worth it.

I absolutely LOVE the wool interior. Like a Swedish Toyota Century. I love textile interior options, even though most people don't like them. This wool interior and the plaid available on the V60 Momentum/V60 Cross Country are awesome. As much as I like this XC90, if I were in the market for a new Volvo, I would have to get a V60 T6 R-Design - it handles better, looks cooler, is far more rare, holds its value better, is faster and gets better mileage. I wouldn't spring for the T8 - there is too much to go wrong in my opinion, and I enjoy driving the T6 with the Polestar tune far more than the T8, which feels like there is too much going on (test drove both drivetrains in S60s back to back). If you needed the third row, I concur about your choice of an XC90 T6 R-Design. I dig the styling inside and out on these, and they drive really nicely. Great cars, and great review.

I’m so looking forward to going down to Germany and out running the new T8s on the Autobahn with my 2010 110Hk 240Nm V50 1.6D.

As the owner of a fully loaded 2017 XC90 T6 R-Design with the 4 corner air suspension, I concur with your preferred XC90 recommendation.

A fully digital instrument cluster is just a cost saving that was passed on to the consumer as a premium feature.
