The Vanford also has that slight hairline handle play and Im glad to hear Im not the only one who doesnt like it. I am now contemplating on selling that reel so I can replace it with the Twin Power, just out of curriosity so I can compare it side by side against the Certate LT

hi there, very very slight play is normal on any reel..some have more than others. just down the the clearances in the gears. the twin power is solid though. I've been using mine for a while now..so far it's a pleasure to use. Certate is also a great reel..but sadly in my country there is no one who can service a mag sealed reel..so I will not buy one 😢. the new TP XD and SW models are out too now..I am contemplating purchasing a 6k TP sw..hopefully soon.

Guys, this is not a 5000 size reel! This is C5000. Actually, it's just a normal 4000 reel with deeper spool. Diameter of the spool is just the same as in 4000 reel. Anyway, thats a great reel. I've got one in smaller size. Your Stradic definitely requires servicing. Find some decent reel service studio or a specialist, they'll get it right.

Actually all light shimano spinning reels with c letter means it’s the same in lower size one but compact

Haha...check out the episode I just posted up on our channel..I am.using this reel...so far its proven to be very good...managed to spool 240m of 20lb powerpro..my Stradic FK5000 which is physically a little larger holds only 200m of the same line...you will really enjoy using this reel..👌

@@happywrench3044 i have 9ft black hole suzuki which is a perfect match. but use it sometimes on my 10" surf rods too...only issue with using it on the bigger/longer rods is that i literally empty half the spool on the cast...so in case i get something big on the line...i dont have a huge amount of line to fight with lol.

hi, there is a grey canvas/cotton bag provided in the box...in my excitement to check the reel...I forgot to take it out of the bag while filming lol...

@@melanurasful same exact body, weight, specs, but different spool and handle. C5000XG has a deeper spool to hold more line and has the powerknob.

What does xg means? And are there twinpower 2020 HG? (Highgear)in the previes model there where hg but in 2020 i am not sure btw nice video mate keep it up

hey hi there!! XG is for extra high gear..its 6.2 ratio. there is no HG. all the TP's are XG except for the 2500/1000 size which is 5.3/5.1 ratios. thanks for watching.

@@wickcreator2981 HG is usually around 5.8:1 retrieve...XG is 6.2:1 ...i dont know what kind of fishing you use it for...so match the gear ratio accordingly mate. i use my XG for surf casting bait and lures (spoons/swim baits/poppers) ...so for my use it works well...

when i spin the reel fast enough i hear ring ring ring ring ring from high pitch to low....and i also hear intermittently when turning it.

@@jinsu0504 if you spin it stupidly fast..you will hear a high pitch sound..but this is normal on any shimano with the mircomodule gears. its due to the tight tolerances between the gears. under normal fishing/reeling ...there is no sound (at least on my reel).

really depends on what you are going to use the reel for mate...i do surf fiishing...so i need larger size with higher gear ratio for fast retrieve. PG is lower gear ratio application is suitable for casting certain types of lures. so choose according to your requirement !!!

hi thanks for stopping by...yes it's pretty compact even for a 5k size. holds 225m/245yds of 20lb(0.23mm) powerpro...shimano says 260yds...so I dont find this accurate...maybe if spooled on a machine it's possible 🤷‍♂️ I cannot comment about the bearing count though.. I am unsure why.

Certate is a great reel..really cant go wrong with it. i really like Daiwa's new MQ design.. Having said that, i've had some 30+lb fish on the Twin power and never once felt it "struggle"...

this is not available here locally in sri lanka. i've had to import it from USA. retail for this reel is usually around $450-500
