I live in Gainesville , we have had bears in our area too. I live in town now and have deer , coyote, raccoon, possum. When I lived near the '96 Rowing Olympic venue on the north side of town we saw a cougar, yes a cougar. Only saw it once.

It’s always interesting to see what is out there. I’ve known folks close by here that saw cougars. I’ve never seen one but wouldn’t be surprised to see one. There’s lots of land around that very remote and isolated.

Awesome pics! That is a beautiful place and lots of animals around. I kind of wondered if the bear climbed up the tree and broke it. The older bucks know how to handle a licking branch but the young buck wasn't sure what it was all about. 😊

Great action in this video: Bobcat, coyote, black bear, white tailed deer just being themselves. Loved the turkey with his spread tail feathers. Have you noticed that bears always want to fool with the camera?

First, I need to say that I nearly stopped watching this video bc of the horrendous and really loud “music” at the beginning. Thankfully, you stopped it, and I got to watch your video! This is awesome footage, and I just _know_ that Tom Turkey knew where your cameras were, bc he preened in front of every one! Also, I watch nature trail video footage from all around the country, and in _every single one, in every single region_ I see a lot of bobcats! What’s so cool is that they’re super shy and sightings of them are super rare; some Forest Rangers and naturalists call them ‘ghosts’ bc of this. Anyway, thanks so much for your time and effort!

What is the collar around the (I assume) coyote’s neck? Great video!
@northgeorgiaoutdoors1059
2 жыл бұрын
We don’t know exactly what that is around the coyote’s neck. It’s very likely some type of garbage that the coyote stuck his head into and now cannot get it off. The coyote is still around (we still get an occasional video of him) and he is still wearing whatever he has around his neck so there is still a chance it will get a better look someday.

I had an ear of corn tied up in the tree. I was trying to gel a video of the bear up on his back legs reaching for the corn but he decided to climb the tree instead. If you look closely at the limb that fell you can see the ear of corn swinging. It’s close to the center of the screen. If your interested, I’ve posted videos from 2021 where you can see the corn as the bears reach for it. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qJmtw6igYMy8mbQ.html

What trail camera did you use?
@northgeorgiaoutdoors1059
Жыл бұрын
Most of the Browning videos were taken with the Browning Recon Force Advantage. In my opinion, it is the best trail camera Browning has ever made. I’m not sure that newer models are an improvement over this older model. Unfortunately it is getting hard to find now since it has been replaced with newer models. The Moulltrie videos were taken with the M-40. The video is great with these cameras but the audio is poor. This too is an older model and almost impossible to find now.

We don’t know what is around his neck. We’ve been hoping to get a better look but haven’t seen the coyote other than the videos. I’m responding to this comment in mid-November 2022 and just a week or so ago we had new videos of this coyote and it is still wearing whatever is stuck around its neck. Still hoping to figure it out.

I also thought it looked like a piece of pvc pipe. It also reminded me of a part that goes on recessed light fixtures, but I’m not certain; I’d like to know. We ended up getting videos of this coyote for a couple of years so although it probably bothered the coyote, it didn’t seem to be life threatening. No more videos of it for a while now so it either got it off, moved to another area it is no longer alive.
