I know you want your skin to be how you want it. But one thing that I can say is with this close up and no makeup I recognize your beauty anyway. You have a magnificent face. The shape of your eyes, your complexion and those teeth are everything.

Thank you for being so candid!! I feel like we are skin twins! COVID and personal stresses tore my face up! I too have been on Spiro and was using Fabior at nights and saw major progress. I just stopped about a week ago for chemical peel prep. I’m nervous but also excited to see the results. I love your closing message, as someone who has always struggled with acne sometimes it’s very hard to to deal with not having clear skin.

Girl im really sorry to hear about your acne struggles i know what it's like. Im on accutane and this is my 6th and last month, I'm lucky i have had no side effects except dry lips. Birth control, antibiotics, chemical peels and like everything didn't work. Wish i could show you my acne before accutane i dont have the words to explain how bad it was. I know you've spent a lot of money on your face, I really hope you get a break and this works for you. I like the fact that you have positive energy🤗

I used to work in a clinic that had a functional medicine "doctor". I can tell you those "food sensitivity tests" are garbage and a waste of money. lol. His daughter had worse acne than her and she was limited on sooo many healthy foods because her dad "doctor" would claim that she was sensitive to them thus causing her to break out. Long story short her acne always looked the same no matter what she tried. She also refused going to an actual doctor (dermatologist). I do agree that probiotics are good for the gut flora. However, I don't think there is any direct link between gut flora and acne. For the most part it's hormonal issues.

Whew. I am 32 and didn't start having acne until age 23ish. I also get horrible breakouts on my back and face. I haven't worn anything backless in about 10 years. I have been seeing a derm and my acne got under control, but I started getting peels (with the esthetician in my derm's office) and the peels are causing my skin to purge, leading to more acne and dark marks. It is like an endless cycle. Now my skin has stopped responding to the stuff my derm has had me on for a year, so it is back to square 1.

Thanks for ur sweet words and positivity at the end. I had acne as a teenager and still somewhat as an adult but it was never as bad as the breakouts I have been experiencing since wearing masks 10 hrs a day at work and to the stores and just everywhere. I have acne prone oily skin and these masks have me with new breakouts everyday followed by scarring after they pop or whatever. I would love for you to keep posting about ur skincare journey. Maybe I'll work up the courage to get a chemical peel 😬

Try lining your mask with paper towels/ napkins, and changing them out every couple hours, so in that way bacteria doesn't get to accumulate on anything with the humidity of your breath (since you keep swapping them out.) So carry enough napkins in a plastic bag with you to work or when out. It may look a little curious, but just ensure it's the doubled up napkin touching your face, not the cloth. I hope this helps.

@@pragooutube Ohhh ok. Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a try. Switching from the surgical masks to the cloth masks helped a bunch. But just the act of wearing the mask in general causes me to breakout due to the oil, sweat, and bacteria. So thank you! I most definitely will try lining my mask and switching the liner every few hours 😊

Things are great now, especially with the elimination of dairy and other diet changes. Hoping if you haven't passed the 3 or 4 month point, that you'll give it a little more time to work.

I always had clear skin, not a blemish.... until I started a different kind of birth control 3 months ago. I put in the mirena and less than 2 months later I started getting hormonal acne same spots you were getting yours! Eventually it snowballed into everyday a couple angry cysts were appearing, and leaving black marks, I was spending almost every waking minute researching. My obgyn prescribed spironolactone, I bought a weeks worth, but was afraid to try it. I read that spearmint tea does similar to spironolactone, blocks the excess androgens, so I looked to try that. But since spearmint isn't readily available where I live, I tried peppermint tea instead, even though the studies didn't use that. Two cups of peppermint tea steeped for at least an hour each day. Within the week of starting that... NO NEW CYSTS! I'm hoping this continues, I'm now almost 2 weeks free of new acne!!! I'm just dealing with the old cysts and marks that are taking forever to go. I'm fading them with zinc and castor oil ( diaper rash cream) as a spot treatment. It's fading them slowly and healing my skin that was scorched by benzoyl peroxide. I didn't mean to write something this long, but I'm hoping this helps out someone who's desperate like I was. ( In case this stops working I have some backups from my research: vitamin b5 (pantothenic something) , L Lysine vitamins, and beef liver pills for vitamin A. )

Hi Paula! Glad that peppermint tea is helping you. What brand tea you using, are you still drinking tea? Do you breakout at all at any point? I am trying peppermint tea (1pint glass with 1 bag and I let the bag seep throughout the day and refill with water) I think it is working but not to the point of not getting any new cystic or small pimps. Usually gets worse a week before my period. Maybe instead of doing 2 glasses/cups like you (if you still do it & it works still) I can do 2 bags in 1 pint glass then refill water throughout the day?

@@fannyasilberman7373 Hi! Yes, I'm still drinking it morning and night- but it's a long story... I had stopped for a few months after I realised that my hormones must have re-balanced/settled itself with the birth control about 6 months in, cuz when I ran out of peppermint tea at that time, my skin didn't go crazy (like it did when I ran out a couple times before.) I only started back taking it again recently after I decided to remove the mirena a few months ago ( cuz my blood pressure was going up and up) and realized my hormones and skin went wacko again! It seems to have gotten it back under control somehow...I guess when I mess with my progesterone/estrogen balance my skin goes crazy. I'm not touching another birth control that has hormones, and I'm just waiting till my hormones balance again. So I'm drinking peppermint morning and night once again. Don't understand the science behind how it's working _this_ time- but it _is_ working. 🤷‍♀️

@@pragooutube oh that is great that things are balancing out! It is all about the balance for sure, either by seeing how your skin and body react or taking hormone tests here and there to see the levels. That makes sense as far as not needing to drink a specific brand, just that it's peppermint =) for your dark marks if you still have them you could try tretinoin cream (topical vitamin a) lowest dose (.025), once a week for one month, then go to twice a week for the next month, then see if you can do 3 times a week etc. Your face will get dry/peeling initially so a good moisturizer will be helpful. The tret cream may bring some acne that's underneath to the surface, so expect some what they call purging (could last a few weeks to months) but should even out to where no breakouts happen. I've been using the cream for 3 months (along with peppermint tea for 6 months) and I see improvements for sure, just getting pimples still during period. I will do the 2 tea bags in my glass instead of one and see if that helps =) thank you for your post/help. I want to try all natural routes before I go to spironolactone. I have tried zinc supplements for 3 months that didn't help me. If peppermint tea doesn't help (upping to 2 bags now) then I may look into beef liver pills (they have vitamin d and a and others) and then spironolactone as last resort haha. Azelaic acid is good to for lightening dark marks, it's a cream, but don't use tret cream and azelaic acid, it's one or the other. Thank you again =)
