Not gonna lie, i really love the 540c

When the entry level McLaren is even equipped with a scissor door style while Lambo's entry level doesn't even have one unless modded lol wtf

AJ difference is upon entrance 540 much harder to get in and out

i love a car girl

I'm deciding between this, an r8 v10 plus, or an older ferrari california (non t). They are just about the same price, give or take in Australia. My heart and the child in me wants the mclaren. Even though they're built like hot garbage, i will lose a TON of money on it (wont keep either for longer than 3 years) and they are unreliable as all hell. Add that mclaren likes not to adhere to warranty, and we got a bad decision...But it looks ace, and it's the fastest...Then the audi is all that, but it's an Audi. and it's slightly boring, plus the resale still won't be pretty. Then there's the california....might be the slowest, heaviest, least pretty, but it's still a ferrari, it still looks great, still drives great, AND it's at the bottom of the depreciation curve, only 7000 built. In 3 years i could probably resell it for the same price, or even for slightly more.... Can't pick, honestly.

@F1nn 1456 I decided to sit it out and wait until used prices normalise. You could get a gen 1 V8 r8 for $85k or a 1st gen R35 GTR for $75k a few months before I wrote that comment. Now they're both $110k+ asking price. Would be a pretty bad financial decision buying a 2nd hand car rn. If you can neg. Down a California for about $180k AUD I'd go for that, but good luck with that. I'll most likely go for a 2012-2014 V10 r8 though, best price/performance+looks. Both the California and 540c are leagues above both the vantage and the Maserati, though. Plus a year ago you could get both a grancabrio and a V8 vantage for around $75k. Not so much now.

i mean unless you make 110k gross income and dont buy a fancy house right away

Reviewig mclaren sports car like it would be kia city boxy car. Looking good firm but you have sonet 90percent od time talking about infotainment and booring stuff. Where Is fun, sliding, fun stuff. We havent even Heard the engine.

Once you hear that Audi R8 V10s sweet engine note, I don't know how you buy this McLaren that sounds like a pickup truck V6. Audi R8 for me. It's special

Maybe some people think that there is more to a sports car than a nice sounding engine...? Every comparison test says the McLaren handles much better and they are rarer, which matters to a lot of people. (You’re right though, the V10 sounds outstanding)

The McLaren doesn't handle better son. It's too artificial, the R8 gives the feel of a PROPER supercar instead of a robot that does everything for you.

Too many on the road, you might as well just get an uber as no one will notice you in your Audi! I know it's vain of me but when you have spent a lot of money you at least want someone to look at you cruising down the street and anyone who says they don't are lying and you may as well just get a taxi from A to B and save your money
