For family SUV, you can't go wrong with the Palisade or the Telluride. Both offer alot of car for the money. I, myself owned a limited Palisade and loving it.

How you can compare Hyundai and Acura in general ? They are not the 2 brands to compare. Acura is with Lexus ,Infinity, Audi . Hyundai is with Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Kia . You know what I mean ?

Problem is that prices on Telluride and Palisades are now 30% more expensive to lease than the MDX. So, the value is gone.

@@kenth6140 Toyota is still solid. Hyundai and KIA don't offer compelling compact crossovers. In Canada, the features are scattered all over the place. Only top trims of the Sportage and Tucson get LEDs. Toyota offers all driver assistance (incl BLIS) and LEDs standard. New 2020 Highlander apparently has Lexus like ride quality. Honda and Nissan has definitely plummeted. Honda still uses their POS 1.5t that they refuse to fix. Nissan still uses their crappy CVTs.

Palisade is very smooth,powerful and comfortable driving . Easy to maintenance and cost cheap. I am 100% satisfied with this vehicle!!!

WRONG. The MDX requires 87 AKI octane fuel, the same as the Pilot. 91+ is recommended to achieve the full 290HP.

The Palisade is new and the MDX is from 2014. Not a fair comparison. Come back again when the all-new MDX is out in 2020 as 2021 model to have a “fair” comparison.

If MDX Type-S is anything like TLX Type-S, the MDX will lack many luxury features! Look at the Acurazine.com - people are vivid that Type-S is not the top trim, instead Acura gutted it and stripped many features that are even available on $20k Kia's.That is not good start for the new TLX Type-S and possibly for the upcoming MDX.

Omg! I can park this so much better than I could my small GMC Terrain. I got the Limited. Took 2 months. I have NOT seen another one on the road. Now, it takes about 3 months to get the Limited but worth every penny. The colors are not what they look like in pictures so do your homework. My blue is really black.

Yes, I just purchased one after 35 years of Toyota. Go test drive.

The outcome is fine. The MDX is at the last stage of its cycle, look out for the completely redesigned MDX, it will be back at the top of the segment.

Too bad the dealer markup is absurd. $4k - $7k on the higher trims. Telluride SX going for $60k in my neck of the woods. Rather buy a used 2019 - 2020 MDX.

It's everywhere like that. They can't keep them on the lot. Average stay for the highest trim Telluride in my area is about 8 days and 5-6 for lower trims so the dealerships are cashing in while they can.

In shocked about what Hyundai did with palisade. They give u more luxury than acura and Infiniti with a better price point I've actually set in the new calligraphy which is a 2021 model new for next year and the rim's look nice but on the limited you'll say why the hell would they change the rim's because for 2021 the rim's on the limited the rim's r took from an sel or sel premium palisade so if u don't like the sel premium wheels on a 2021 limited than u may want to go to the calligraphy trim or step back to a 2020 limited but it depends on your taste of rim's I just wish they kept the rim's of the 2020 model and put them on the 2021 but overall the palisade gives so much luxurious features and at a bargain price. It may not sound like 48,000 is a bargain but look at the germans i think some luxury cars dont get cool seats in the back and heated seats. But everyone stay safe.

I can care less for value for materials, i care more for driving dynamics and exterior design. The new 2021 MDX no matter what trim will blow the smokes out of the Hyundai.

Lol we’ve driven both the 2020 mdx and palisade and the palisade was a much more comfortable, spacious vehicle. Definitely the better car for its purpose of existence. You want great dynamics? Get a Miata. Also I hate the transmission of the mdx, ruins any driving enjoyment advantage it could have had

Some of us don't want LCd screens everywhere.

Palisade over MDX all day. Not even close. Hell I'd take a Pilot over the ancient MDX. Acura needs to go away. Just look at that awful interior. Great job Hyundai on being the benchmark of the segment

ginger exactly! im on my third acura and the Acura RDX saved my family’s life during a MAJOR multiple car collision on the hwy going around 65mph, my entire family was in the car and walked away unharmed. ACURAS all the way!

To me these two cars are not comparable. For one, the Palisade is brand-new as compared to the Acura, and the Palisade is simply in another league. I don’t dislike the the Acura, although it seems like it’s angled more towards being sporty and exciting, whereas the Hyundai is obviously a very luxurious family car. Nevertheless I would choose the Palisade over the MDX any day.

Acura looks outdated and their reliability has slipped big time.

Man, that white leather gets dirty instantly. Only looks good when new. But I love the Hyundai and KIA SUVs. They are killing it.

Every model has redesign cycle. Acura MDX is in last year in 2020 for this generation. The 2021 will be newly designed generation. Just look at RDX interior of current year model. Of course Acura is 1 to 2 year late in launching new redesigned model. However driving dynamics, handling and confort is still much better than Hyundai. The 2021 MDX would be the right comparison to Palisade.

The SH-AWD helped contribute to the MDX's nimble driving feel, but that strikes us as a consideration that is well down the list of priorities in this segment, so it didn't make the final cut. The majority of shoppers in this segment will want something that is easy to drive and maneuverable in tight parking lots, and its ability to maintain better grip while accelerating out of corners (the MDX certainly does that well for a seven-seat SUV) is lost on most three-row crossover shoppers.

You can't compare MDX vs Palisade. They're not in the same category or segment. It's better to compare Pilot vs Palisade and Genesis GV80 vs Acura MDX. That would be a better and fairer comparison

Tested an MDX before opting for my Palisade. I can't explain exactly why, but the Palisade won my heart quickly and fully.

I agree. Just like when the ford Taurus came out in 86. Everyone was giving it rave reviews, look at it now the Accord is still standing. Anyone can make an attractive package but engineering is a different story. The new mdx is coming in 2021 let's see the comparisons then. People say that they got the palisade, of course they did the mdx can cost from 44000 to 60000. Most people cant afford that in the first place. When the miles starts adding up, Honda/Acura always gets the last laugh.

I've owned historical Japanese cars in the past. I own many of the Ichiro Suzuki Toyota cars. Those are special. Current Toyota is nowhere what they were. Honda is worse. Mixing their engineering pool with ex GM employees have been poison for them. If you're in the auto industry, no one takes honda as a luxury car threat anymore. They are looking at Hyundai, because many of their top tier piers jumped ship to work for them.

Just got one yesterday for 42.5k out the door with the technology package.

Hyundai, is doing secretly as what Lexus did to Mercedes Benz and others car manufacturers in 1989 ,they just needed to put much more horsepowers and NWT of torques in their engines, and lots of seriously technologies, seriously engineering, so Toyota, Nissan, and Honda will knows not about name brands.

Lame review, anyone serious about wanting a quality vehicle that drives nicely and is well made would never consider a Palisade. No matter how the paper numbers match up, hyundai just doesn't hold up over time. Also, comparing the last of a current-gen to first of a branch new product launch...Stupid. MDX would be more appropriately compared to infinity or Lexus, not Hyundai.

It's been over a decade since Hyundai began producing quality cars. I own a 2007 Elantra as a second car. It has 130,000 miles on it and it still runs great with only regular maintenance and a few minor replacements in the last few years. I am going to keep it for another 5 years. I am personally attached to this car because it has been serving my family over a decade without any trouble. I am not saying Hyundai is more reliable than Acura but you might change your mind about Hyundai if you own one of their recently produced cars

@@u0386 Glad that you are happy with your vehicle. The quality, fit and finish of a honda/Acura in my opinion, is still much better and their history of reliability, in general, would be higher. Like anything, you have to drive it to see the difference. The way an Acura drives and feels is not something you can compare on paper. Similar to how anyone who drives a german car will speak to the "feel" when they drive it. Not saying german cars are reliable, i don't believe they are, but they feel solid on the road, you don't get that in hyundai product, at least not yet, and yes I have driven in recent hyundai products.

How do you know the mdx will hold over time? This is not 2000s anymore

Palisade will crush Honda and Toyota. Wait for few months and Hyundai will sell this car for 0% for 84 months 😂😂

Let’s compare it when the 2022 MDX comes out. Obviously this is paid by Hyundai lol.

moe chu that’s the SUV business for you. No car lasts more than 4-5 years before it needs to be replaced. That’s the reason the Hyundai is so much better than the Acura, it’s brand new.

@@crumbybooch1851 - That's just your luck. I got a 2012 MDX and a 2016 RLX, both have been FLAWLESS. You could've been sabotaged or it's just plain user error.

LOL, the brand new Palisade already has colouring stains on the front leather seats. Imagine this car in 3-5 years.

Honda n acura right now might be old n some things but the quality n value was always there. Toyota products have been n still r best n the business. Guys, guys, guys. You can't compare the Palisades to the MDX. Apples and oranges in my view.

To be truthful honest the Hyundai Palisade is a much better SUV then that Acura plus the Acura is overpriced compared to the Hyundai Palisade that's under priced

How much did Hyundai pay you for this biased review? Anyone who’s ever driven both of these cars will realize that what the Acura have in driving feel will never be matched by Hyundai. Thank you for letting me know to disregard all your future reviews and treat them as commercials.

UD2 I’d take a luxury hyundai palisade over this MDX. The interior is TERRIBLE in the acura. No matter how nice it drives, it really is outdated inside and out

Payed or not (which it isn’t paid), an ancient Acura has nothing on a brand-new Hyundai Palisade. I rode in both, and let me just say, the Hyundai Palisade is the most impressive 3-row SUV I’ve ever seen. I will admit that the Acura is a pretty fun car to drive, as it is quite sporty, but when it comes to being a great family car, the Acura just does not meet that criteria.

@@hr9592 If you are in the market for one of these cars, you'd be comparing the Palisade to the Kia/Ford alternatives, to which the Palisade is the most inferior option. The MDX is in a different market for a different set of buyers. When you're in the market for a family hauler that drives and accelerates like a sports car, you would appreciate how the Acura can do 0-100 faster than a Cayenne.

@Fides Once you have driven both vehicles, you would not agree with yourself. The Palisade has its advantages over the MDX, but the MDX also has things that the Palisade will never have. They're different vehicles for different target markets. That's what this paid advertisement of a review failed to mention. If this advertisement wasn't paid, they would've compared the Palisade to the Kia Telluride and the Ford Explorer, against both of which the Palisade will likely lose. Although not 100% sure as these people are being compensated by Hyundai.

@@crumbybooch1851 Kia and Ford offerings are much more impressive and should've been the main point of comparison if this so called review wanted any credibility. The Acura MDX is trying to be an affordable sporty family hauler and it does very well in delivering performances close BMW and Porsche offerings at 70% of the price. This silly video falls into the same line as comparing a sports car to a family sedan looking only at seating comfort and concluded that the family sedan is a better vehicle because it is more comfortable. It is utterly pointless and shameful.

The palisade has some weird shape .. I dont like how it looks

pops and bangs Reality of the situation is Kia/ Hyundai are poorly made vehicles and also have terrible resale value!! You’ll be upside down in your auto loan before you know it bc they depreciate rapidly in value due to their poor quality. It will be in the garage getting repaired wayyy before a Honda/ Acura.
