    I just bought a new 2021 and love it. I have been riding for 40 years and have ridden all kinds of two wheelers. Now that I am close to 70 and arthritis makes things harder, it is a perfect bike for us older guys. Plenty of power, and light as a feather. I love it!

    I've had my CB300R since March 2019, 8300 miles. The tight, twisty canyon roads of Malibu are only minutes away so I never have to get on the freeway. Funny, in more than two years I have never seen another one on the road. I can't figure out why, it's such a good bike. It's probably the unkillable prejudice about small displacement motorcycles. The motor has plenty of grunt, it's not your father's 300. I had to choose between the Duke 390, Svart/Vit 401, and the CB300R. I went with the Honda and I'm still glad I did. To my eye it is the best looking of the three by far.

    It's a cool looking bike and most of the riders don't get it that you can still do 80MPH on CB300R without touching the redline. So it's not about CC's. It's about what you can do with that power ;)

    I'm kinda prejudiced against one cylinder engines after having my arse vibrated into oblivion doing long trips on a CB125F for a few months. That's why I went for the inline-4 CB650R instead. Otherwise, I agree, this thing looks gorgeous and I'm sure she's a bucket of fun in the twisties ;)

    Thanks for watching. I believe there are two types of riders. First would pick the right bike like CB300R and slowly explore. Second would buy the most powerful, heaviest, (won't call names but let's say Busa) and after first crash (since it's too much to handle) they would quit. We should do a video like "beginners guide". I have a lot that I want to cover especially gear and how you should buy it before you move forward with your bike purchase.

    I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out for you yet, but running 91 or even 93 octane gas won’t actually give your engine more power unless the engine is specifically tuned to delay the ignition timing when running higher octane gas. The advantage of the higher number gas is that it is less likely to detonate from heat and compression which allows the engine to more safely delay ignition time with less risk of knock. This is why many higher powered sports cars will require 91 or 93.

  • @LiveFEEDNow

    @LiveFEEDNow

    8 ай бұрын

    In CA we can't get anything over 91 at the pump unless you go to the racetracks and pay $9.99/gal for 95-100 octane. Higher octane does help to lower engine temps when you run extremely hot outside and most of the bike engines would require you to run Premium gas due to high compression ratio. Thanks for watching! Subscribe for more!

  • @BigStreams_

    @BigStreams_

    @@LiveFEEDNow the only way a higher octane gas would run cooler would be if your engine was experiencing detonation on the lower octane. Higher octane is harder to ignite, but it still has the same energy levels. (To run cooler it would need to have lower energy, otherwise where did the energy go?)

    Great commuter bike, I'm not a beginner and this bike is a lot of fun. It does everything perfectly, it's a big Grom. Always use 91 octane, the CB is often above 8,000rpm. It will do 8,000 plus all day long.

    Interesting review. Your concerns about California freeway speeds are overdone! I rode a CBR250RR for a couple of years (50K miles accumulated) at those speeds and higher, sometimes into the 90's (in disturbed air, doesn't make enough power to do that on its own) for 100 miles/day. In Arizona, summer temperatures at commute time will reach 118 deg F reliably if not routinely. Good quality oil appropriately rated, and the Teflon inserts Honda puts on the thrust faces of the piston seem to do their jobs. Even after spending a commute at 80-ish mph, the engine was not terribly hot to the touch. Also not terribly buzzy compared to my Kawasaki 650 Ninja. Neither one vibrates more than enough to let you know there is an engine aboard!

Had an a knee operation recently, due to meniscus tear so this light nimble bike is a plus point. Agree, the exhaust is hideous, would want to change to akrapovic yet now our regulators are going for modified bike particularly on exhaust. Has to put the idea on hold for awhile.

For Euro-4 you will have another bike with another exhaust/tune on it. To summ up they look the same but it will be different tune/exhaust for each region/state/country.

    Hopefully when they make the CB400R, it will have a 270 degree parallel twin with 35 hp and 35 tqs. It will sound better, have better torque and less vibration.

    That exhaust gives the bike a low growl sound which is very nice. I'd rather have a fatter exhaust with good low sound than a slimmer one who farts and pops.

    Not to be super negative by the way. Aside from that this review is awesome. The camera work and editing is on point. Thank you for making a good video of the cb300r. There aren't many out there.

    It’s to small of a bike for a tall rider… why can’t they make a 399cc twin with 50hp bike with a 58” wheelbase and 32” seat under 400pounds.

    That's more like Ninja 400 description. It's good to have options and looks like Honda is not trying to "catch up" with Kawasaki trends. Thanks again for watching. Es una hermosa moto, pero, muy corta, no es cómodo para un pasajero, es una moto muy individual, y la velocidad final parece que estuviera amarrada... :(

    Smaller displacement has this seat only for cargo/bags or short ride around the town. Yes they could make the 6th gear a bit taller.

    Prob with these bikes is that they're physically small so if you're over 150lbs/5'6" you'll look like a bear on a monocycle.

    It's not about "how it looks". It's more about practicality and if you have fun riding this bike. In our view about 75% of the people buy their next motorcycle for "looks" when they can't really handle power/weight and should look for something more "suitable".

    You can replace it with literally removing two bolts and using basic tools. Slip-ons will be cheap and quick solution. I'm sure it will sound awesome since even on the stock pipe you can (barely) hear some crackers.
