Ella S I wouldn’t call you idiotic, that’s misrepresentative of the atheist perspective so shame on the person who called you that for giving atheism a bad name. I would say that using bible verses to constitute what is right and wrong in modern society is sort of a deluded method. If you take any history class, you’ll see that theories, geographical models, economic structures all become outdated eventually. At some point in time, all of these things must be updated to keep up with the modern world. My question would be as follows: why does a book written thousands of years ago continue to dictate how the modern world functions? The world is constantly dynamic and changing so to me it doesn’t make much sense that the book’s historic principles are still being pushed today.

Pete is really gaining momentum. An Afghanistan vet, Mayor of South Bend, Indiana. Went to Harvard, Rhodes scholar (went to Oxford) learned a few different languages. Is a pianist, can play quite well. Author. Well spoken, smart, considerate. Understands the hypocrisy with religion and has his faith. With all the chaos in Washington, politicians fighting within their own parties and vehemently with each other, it would be a much refreshing change to have "reason" in Washington. He advocates for change, not to discredit the parties, but to bring them together for the sole purpose of saving the US. With all the representatives we have in Washington, we should expect more progress instead of bickering. The US could have accomplished so much more in politics if it weren't for one party getting credit and the other party trying to dissuade that credit for fear their party looses points. That is just power struggle, not really helping the country. Pete does have more experience in politics than Trump and more executive experience than Pence. Im watching all interviews and going through youtube to view as many as I can. Extremely impressed.

I do agree with you, in that he is very impressive. I like him allot. However, from what I've gleaned, he's not for Medicare for all. Which, in my opinion, means that he is beholden to corporate insurance. He may just say that he's for insurers to gain votes, however. I think we need to really study him and make sure that he really has the American people's best interest at heart.

Because the truth is this. Online you'll see people dismiss what I just said. "Lol what is a 'democratic socialist'" or "There's no difference between the two". Choosing to dismiss the explanation from the other side is a willing ignorance of discussion. Because what SHOULD matter to you, is what Bernie Sander's positions are, and what his supporters support. And when you pay attention to *that*, and assuming you know what the definition of socialism/communism are, you'd know that Bernie Sanders does not condone the seizure of private property to then be incorporated as a public owned, government asset. The truth is that you and Bernie Sanders supporters' have drastically different perceptions of what Sanders means when he says the word 'socialist', but at the end of the day what emotional reaction you have to that word is irrelevant, because we're talking about specific policy decisions, and not "communism". ------------------- Our society is a blending of private and publicly owned institutions, and varying tax rates depending on a long list of conditions and circumstances. There would be nothing extraordinary about adding support for public healthcare coverage, minimum wage increases or the like. TLDR- It's ok to be against policies which use the state to solve problems, and that's obviously your position. (An often sound position), but it's an entirely different (and wrong) to claim that Sander's is in any substantial way comparable to the dead horse which is obvious examples of government corruption and brutality, like in the USSr or what have you.

Eh I’m originally from Indiana and I can tell you there’s better stuff there than this guy who barley even represents a fraction of the population in his own state. Indiana has great craft beer, a surprisingly vibrant independent music scene, amongst other things. Pete was mayor of only the fourth biggest city and Indiana and probably one of the most democratic leaning areas because it’s a college town. Us from the northeast practically consider it a piece of Chicago tbh.

Mayor Pete served a tour of duty in the war in Afghanistan, graduated from Harvard, became a Rhodes scholar and gained government executive experience as he turned a city around for the good as mayor - and he's only 37 years old. His plain-spoken, 'answer the questions directly' style and his ability to inspire people, show he is the anti-Trump, the one who can win in 2020.

This guy, Pete Buttigieg, could make me move to the US if that meant that I got a vote, even though I don't want to leave the society that we have here in Denmark. Every time I see him, I literally can't get my arms down afterwards! Everyone, remember to like the video if you like the guy over other candidates. He needs exposure more than anything, and upvotes and solid comments makes this video appear on more people's feeds. Don't spam or make useless comments though, since that will lower the ranking, and it is annoying to read and can prevent exposure to people trying to make a point.

Pete is smooth and clever. inspiring!

i love how reasonable he is while still managing to have his own opinion. Many say trump would crush him but you have to think ab it. most other candidates try to beat trump at his own petty game and miserably fail. pete doesnt do that.

Whenever I hear Pete speak, I'm reminded of Carl Sagan. I think it's a combination of his similar tone, cadence, and intellect! Can you imagine if we went from Trump to this guy? My pride in our country in 2020 would be equal in magnitude to my current embarrassment.

I used to love America, going on holidays there,visiting my relatives(I'm from Ireland),always had great craic and nights out in NY.But now with the utter fool in office I find myself really resentful and sad about the USA, Please Please Please Americans vote for this man.He is worthy of being president and truly making America great again!

I'd like to see him and Pence go head to head. the two are almost polar opposites. Pence avoids questions, Buttigieg actually tries to answer. Pence is homophobic, Buttigieg is openly gay. Seeing the two in a debate would be interesting to see.

Ross Ogilvie- The Bible does not speak of Stoning homosexuals. Try reading the scripture about the woman caught in Adultery and what Jesus said when they wanted to stone her. The Bible speaks on how to treat slaves since they did not have welfare in those days and a slave would of perished by the elements. Slavery that the Hebrews endured when they were in captivity by the Pharaoh is why the LORD talked about how to treat slaves.

Paul tells slaves to submit to their masters (Ephesians 6:5) and instructs Onesimus (in the book of Philemon) to return to his master after he ran away. Of course these passages are context-specific, but they were used by slaveholders - notably including the founders of the Southern Baptist Convention - to justify the Atlantic slave trade and the practice of owning other human beings. Suffice it to say, the Bible is full of commandments or practices that are questionable at best, if not profoundly immoral. And using the Bible to condemn same-sex couples is just another example of the harm that has been caused in the name of Jesus, who I think would have a thing or two to say about religious Pharisees and hypocrites like Mike Pence.
