Think your completely wrong about the grip and under steer in the wet, I’ve owned since March and I live in Scotland. It’s always raining and haven’t had any issues. Check the tyres.

Gary Gilmour Well, I mean I know what I felt from behind the wheel. I won’t rule out the tyres Australian models are fitted with as being part of it, but I just have to report on the car I had to test, and other Australian reviews have found the same thing.

Another great video man. I've always thought the new 1 series models looked a bit like toy cars... however, quite impressed by these numbers!

Thanks mate! The numbers on it are certainly very impressive, although you're definitely having to pay a fair bit for them.

Ive watched numerous videos regarding this car now and ive come to my own personal opinion. You want a hardcore track focused hot hatch with average functional interiors buy a Civic type r or maybe Megane trophy. You want luxury comfortable hot hatch with excellent interiors then buy the m135i, surely buyers are aware by now this car isn't a track focused car so they shoukd no what their getting into

Good review Patrick, i recently bought one of these and have very similar thoughts. What tyres did the test car have fitted? Mine came with Continental PremiumContact 6's which i have researched and they are absolutely awful things to put on anything over 140kw. Never mind 220+kw... I came to a roundabout around 45km/h and applied slightly more lock than necessary and i understeered straight into the outside lane. It was insane... I think this is due to the tyres, but of course the chassis could also have some part to play

Actual price in Aussie market of m135i would be $80k with some options, full options if u want, push up to 85k

First review to mention that the handling is crap in the wet and we have watched most of them, could it be tyre choice or worn out road surface? because everyone else raves about its all weather capability. nice little car

You’ll have to forgive me for a bit of hyperbole to hype it up for the camera, but it was definitely an issue. It could quite possibly be the tyre choice for the Australian market that’s leading to it then. While our roads aren’t the greatest either, I found the issues were consistent between different roads with smoother and coarser surfaces. It was certainly surprising to me just how different it felt in the wet (should add that this was filmed on one of two dry days during my time with it, and you can see it was even spitting slightly at the start of the section behind the wheel) as it was properly incredible in the dry, so something definitely seemed up. A few other Aussie reviews I’ve read have mentioned the torque steer (CarAdvice) and understeer (MOTOR) so I know I’m not alone I’m noticing it and calling it out. Definitely a lot of fun though, that aside.
