Just found this channel, the 911t brought me here👌 We actually brought the 18 plate s3 as a runaround and love it, we have the opportunity to change to the newer car but I have no interest based on looks mainly, also no opf on ours so it makes a good noise. My wife is not the most confident driver and s3 is so effortless it’s brilliant for her! Excellent channel good luck with it.

I know a bit of time has gone by, but I did buy a loaded Daytona Grey 2023 Audi S3 Premium Plus about a month ago in a year-end (2023) sale. Here in the States, I certainly would have considered the hatchback if it were available, but that isn't offered in the U.S. It replaces my 2016 VW Golf R (another fine car), and while I loved driving a manual transmission, the Audi S3 is a lot of fun to drive on the daily driving activities. The key things it has that I like that my particular 2016 VW Golf R did not have include the panoramic moonroof, beautiful red stitching in the Napa leather seats, a wonderful adaptive suspension (Our roads are bad enough in my area of California that I set the suspension its softest setting), piped exhaust sound on, and often use the "S" transmission mode that maintains the gear a bit longer. Also, the Bang and Olufsen stereo is a big step up from my Golf R. And, my wife likes the styling better than the Golf R's. While I would get the occasional "Nice car" for the Golf R from fellow auto enthusiasts, I'm getting more complements on the S3, which is nice. And, like you said, it is very fast for a daily driver.

100% agree, I had a loan q5 a few weeks back and had no idea about Audi pre sense and thought the car was broken as it kept pulling to one side.

paintwork still immaculate as i had the car ceramic coated and i have it cleaned professionally no car washes the led lights are ace all working well had a few mmi faults but all sorted under Audi warranty make sure you get ghost fitted to stop your car being stolen also a tracker enjoy your car

It’s the first thing I do as well, it’s the lane assist that tugs on the steering wheel and not the pre sense, the pre sense whacks on the brakes when you approach anything too fast 👍

As I said in the film. I don’t dislike it at all, just prefer the older one, but that does happen a lot and the new designs grow on you, so in a year I will probs think the old one looks old. Haha

ordered one on january but it will take until next winter for its arrival. ticked nearly all boxes except stuff that i really dont need like electrical seating position or that horribly working long beam assistant. it is glacier white and will also get some extra ABT treatment for power and sound.

Yes I do have one and I love the chrome on the front grill and wing mirrors but I don’t like the rest of it, I spec’d white metallic, comfort & sound, matrix headlights, red calipers, 19” alloys, pan roof, wireless charging and S logo puddle lights, brilliant video by the way 👍

Tbf mate I’m doing the same... I feel the current Rs3 interior is beautiful but plain. But the price will be very high for the new Rs3 and I hope the sound is nice.. I might just get the current Rs3

@@fusionlord2533 agreed! however, i think the new rs3 will be my last "fossil fuelled" vehicle before going electric, so i really hope it will be good!

I ordered the new s3 in daytona grey, on new years eve. recently been given a build week of 22nd March, so should have it by the end of April if all goes well. Went for the red brake calipers for the sporty look (and as they are exclusive to the s3), and the 19" alloys - was a must for me. Got the pano roof too. I fell in ove after test driving one so couldnt say no! Only things i dislike were similar to what you said: a little quiet, no drive select button on the steering whell, and also the soft limiter... so annoying. Gives little purpose of including a 'manual' mode but there you go...

Did it have to be brand new? I say that because I'm looking at buying one myself and in Bridgewater there is one for sale red 1500 miles under £36,000, that's quite a long time to wait just to get a brand new one when there are 70 plate low mileage examples for well under the price of a brand new one.

@@cmpillred277 I got the price down on mine to just under £39k. Im financing so even at 36k it wouldnt make much difference to the monthly payments to be honest. And personally I'd rather pay that bit extra to have the car brand new, 21 plate, and the the exact spec I'm after 🤷‍♂️ was just my way of thinking of it anyway

The cars are great... you can't hear the fluffed I've stepped out of mine still running... the fake sound is alright it fits... cant beat DSG...its more grown up...

Currently I’ve got a MK7.5 fully spec’ed and tbf my next option is a MK7.5 R as the sound is 10x better 17/18 reg. after having the R I’ll consider getting the new Rs3..

@@Motorflix I was waiting to buy new mk8 golf gti then I saw the pictures of that hideous lower grill and decided to leave VW, I’d just owned 4 gti 😩 bought S3 purely on looks, clubsport & R have changed it for the better, did peoples first impression get the design change 🤔

Good review. I am getting one in a few weeks. Python yellow with pan roof. Optional 19inch wheel's and red callipers

@@Motorflix Well....not because it was a bad car but couldn't live with all that satin silver and chrome trim. Vorsprung has the look but soooo much more expensive and told 6 months delivery. So now I'm stuck in limbo. VW Golf R?

@@markahomer I get what you mean. It has become a bit more of an acquired taste. I prefer the look of the new Golf R, the interior might not feel as premium, but it drives brilliantly. Go and give one a go and see what you think! 👍🏻

I had an s3 8v, was a great car not a big fan of this newer car and it’s the first year golf R now surpasses the power of the S3. Also due to the lack of a gear shifter like the previous models you can’t put it into manual mode and use the leave for up and down shifts (like a sequential box), so using the paddles for ‘manual mode’ still automatically changes which defeats the point!

Hi we had an edition 1 35 tfsi since October we had it total 3 weeks in this time . It has been in the garage since . 1 fault was the presence which audi have admitted there is a problem . We kept getting electrical warning fault turn off engine. Also park assist randomly brought fault light up when driving . And the matrix led camera kept bring a fault up. We also got no electric seats which it was supposed to come with. The car is now rejected would be interesting to see if any one else has had issues ?

@@coops111s another audi? We feel your pain we have had a bad experience and audi uk customer care is non existent. They seemed to have dropped the ball bigtime.

Quiet exhaust is good though when it's a 4 cylinder car. I own an s3 2017 black edition with the 310ps pre-opf and whilst the exhaust is fun and it pops and bangs it gets on my nerves on the motorway when you go uphills...just noise with no tone and drones a lot even with the valves working as they should. I run it with the valves always open (so more drone) and this gets me 5-8mpg more and less lag. Sometimes I wish I had bought the 2019 year with OPF/GPF so I would have a 300hp petrol car that's silent. The pops and bangs are funny but they only impress 14 year old kids. Driving through a nice quiet town only for some yob to yell "rev it" or "give it some beans!" at me whilst pottering through a 30 limit is very annoying and happened two days ago.

Lane departure assistance is a pain in the arse...turn it off

I didn’t think the S3 had a flat-bottom wheel - am I mistaken?
