Good explanation, another way is after clicking on attribute table just click on one cell then press ctrl+a it selects all the cells then a copy option appears upper the table then you can click it. Finally you could open excel then press crtl+v (paste) simple as that.

What do you do about nulls that get zero-filled upon export but you want them to remain as nulls?
