You mean the fakeness of it all? That posture is useless in actual dancing (salsa, swing, zouk...) totally ruins the connection and makes it un-leadable. They are constantly breaking the most important rules of social dances just to create those typical ballroom lines: they extent their arms and move their shoulders forward - no connection, no leading possible anymore. Fake as F this dance, all pre-learned routines and thus NO musicality at all in this. Its crazy. I've just taken up a Latin dance class and now I'm here trying to get tips. All the couples are amazing 💯

Ballroom dancers are not only artists but athletes. So talented! The dancers were under 21? They looked much older than that.

I actually find latin dance shoes to be much more wearable than regular heels!

5:19-5:30 cracks me up! That dude broke it down and then broke it and speeding it up!! He’s very animated

First Impression watching this for the first time: How they avoid colliding into one another. That in itself is a choreography. I keep seeing brushes and I'm like 😨...but then they don't! It's amazing 👏

Wow this is so intense, them all sharing the same space on the same floor.

Paso Doble is my favorite music from Spain, aside from the Tango. In Mexico we use this type of music for bullrings, when we have bullfights. My dad used to bring bulls (de Liria) to the Town of San Luis Potosi, because we had a small bullring there. El Gato Montez, El RElicario, El Dos Negro,.....all these are beautiful Pasos Dobles.

I am amazed that China won, but for the most part of the video, its been showing the other couples dancing. Well, at least there is fairness for the judging.

I think I went, to the same dancing school - Codreanca, as the Silver medalists (pretty sure the guy is the grandson of the school founder, they’re all dancing in the family), and honestly the winning Chinese couple did much better because they danced not just with passion but with Each Other! We all used to dance like that, I don’t know why so many now dance looking just at the crowd instead of with their partners?! Most of the couples I knew back then actually dated (spending so much time together dancing sensually tends to do that), so the teachers sometimes scolded them for being a bit too much, but now there’s almost no interaction during the dancing, whereas during breaks they hug intimately or even kiss. Such a pity... P.S. Back in the day, we weren’t allowed so much heavy make up or tans. In fact Gozun the founder (I believe Silver medalist’s grandpa) made all of the girls once wash their faces saying that as pro dancers we were meant to captivate with our dancing not make up. Unfortunately everybody nowadays uses whatever gimmick they can to capture others’ attention.

That is true. The video shows other couples and the winners are only in short shots. It looks like the operator favored other pairs and ignored two Chinese.

Of all the couples, China was most "real" and fun to watch. Amazing technique but soul to go with it. Caught it right away!

I'm a caribean/music ballroom dance Instructor...and I hardly recognize...most of thei steps...the rithm is missing ./some casual flirting.

I couldn't keep my eyes off of the winning couple the entire video. RAZOR sharp movements, incredible control. You know you have to be jaw droppingly good competing against other dancers of this caliber. WOW.

Lisa Stallings Keelor. Which costume do you like best? I love the light blue one, I adore the colour but I also like how the front is. It does remind you a a car wash though, lol! I always worry they will crash into each other when they’re all dancing around, I’m amazed they never do.

I don't know much about dance, but I know there's a "sequence" by which all the dancers move on the floor so they don't bump into each other.

Muy bonito los trajes muy agiles dr piernas y brazos tambien opino lo mismo no difetencio un baile de otro todos yenian los mismos pasos y el baile de la mascara no tenia nada que envidiarles muy lindos todos.

bellamente ejecutadas las figuras de bailes, pero falta pasión , el sabor latino que nos caracteriza, pero me gusto ver que otros países, estén interesados tanto que ponen nuestros ritmos en una competencia de esa escala, aunque falto nuestra representación.

The music that is being played is absolutely dreadful. The dancers practically have to dance in slow motion.

It's more enjoyable to watch when they have a lot of space to dance. The winners were pretty good.

I'm from Latin America, and this has nothin "Latin" about it. Maybe the music but thats it. No one dances like that in any country in this region. EDIT: Not even the music... latin music sung in english? really? Imagine german folk/music sung in russian. Nice job.

I agree but I didn’t agree with the second and third place.. I really thought the 6/7th place couples should have been higher placed!

I love to watch these dance competitions. I wonder why it's so standard to have the hair slicked down like it's plastic. Just curious why!

Como español el paso doble...... Quizá artísticamente deben de tener múltiples reglas pues los pasos no son los que son o faltan muchos. Ciertamente se lo curran habrán tenido muchas horas de ensayo entrenamiento etc... Pero es más visual en general. Me gustaría saber quién es el jurando y que experiencia tiene o formación.
