That's Kristina Love. She was also Tina in the original german production of Tina the Musical, you should check her out: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGl2xseAZ7a8pco.html I think I've seen her as Deloris in Sister Act some years ago, she was amazing.

Damn it's even great in German, even if I can't understand it

*watches Pheobus and Esmerelda kiss* I...wow..wa...woah you guys gonna catch your breathe any time soon? XD I'm kinda suprised Disney gave the creators as much freedom with the script as they did, but I guess the trade off was not being on the top of Disney's Broadway list since wasn't "on brand" so to speak.

The musical played off Broadway due to labor dispute with the union and non-professional choir that the writers required. I believe it showed in NJ and regionally in CA. Secondly, Disney was afraid of the darker tone. But the union dispute was primary reason it didn’t show on Broadway. Union Demanded A LOT. Choir had to join union and pay dues. They were dealing w/ 50+ people. It would have been very expensive and Disney was already working on more family friendly fare for their theatre. Frozen was in the works so I understand. So it was little column a, little column b, as to why it didn’t show. I’m hoping the darker, more adult version will be the live action version. The more adult musical version is fabulous.

I think if Disney were to make a remake it should be based on this version of the story. Not the Disney film.

This version isn’t much different than the Disney one aside from the additional songs on the soundtrack and Esme’s burning and death.
