2019 STi AWE Track Edition Catback Sounds & Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here's my review of the AWE Track Edition Catback on my 2019 Subaru WRX STi Limited. I forgot to mention that car is stock besides the catback. I meant to make this when I installed the cutback (February 3rd) but wanted to give it enough time to get settled in so it didn't have that "I'm a new exhaust so I'm extra loud!" thing going on. Feel free to ask any questions.

    DRONE?!?! I recently got back from a 1,943 mile road trip with my mom, and my lovely STi. We were BOTH totally fine with the exhaust sound in the car. It was never unpleasant or droney. Almost 2,000 miles of driving, and no complaints from my mom or myself. So, you and your passengers will be fine with this catback lol.

    NEWS: I have some other random videos from outside of my STi that further help demonstrate the sound and loudness of this exhaust that I may upload. Also, I’ve owned an SR20DET swapped 1989 S13 coupe (in 2-tone) since July of 2020. Would anyone want to see any content on it? I haven’t shot anything for it since I bought it because I thought no one would GAF, but maybe some of you guys would.

    I have an awe touring on my 21, sounds great, quality looks like a used exhaust. They all leak slightly while cold the pipes expand once warm and seal up, just a problem with slip joints. Yo. Idky I just saw this. Sorry about that. I usually reply within a few minutes. No droning at all on the highway. • @Stewbob112

    @Stewbob112

    3 жыл бұрын

    I don’t really think there’s a drone issue with the AWE track edition. It has less drone than my GrimmSpeed catback did. You’d have to drive like a grandma (in the 2,600-2,800rpm range) to get any drone. In the highway, that’s like 63mph. Around town, you’ll probably never be that low when cruising. There’s very little drone IMO. Or what I can at least say is that I’ve never been bothered by my AWE catback, and I could easily stand to drive my car, as is, across the country with no complaints as far as sound in the cabin goes👌🏻

  • @Stewbob112

    @Stewbob112

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you are converting this from your stock catback, you’ll have the OEM springbolts attached and can just use those. I lost mine because my GrimmSpeed setup didn’t need them, so I needed to get new ones. I believe it comes with a new donut gasket though so you’ll be good there! I used my GrimmSpeed polyurethane exhaust hangers that I had still on my car from my GrimmSpeed setup though. If you want less movement of the entire setup, they’re pretty damn solid👌🏻💯

    3 жыл бұрын

    I’ve almost been waiting for this question since I put that in my intro lol. The auto/manual controls your diffs (the DCCD). You can manually change how tight you want the diffs to be, or have the car automatically do it (with preferences towards looser, middle, or tighter). I choose to manually keep my diffs as open as possible because I’m just driving around town usually and don’t need them to be tight:) I hope that answers your question!

    Sorry for just seeing this. It looks like YT failed to inform me of comments on videos for the last month or so even though I constantly check🤦🏻‍♂️ Inside noise is not bad at all! The car seems almost quiet inside. You can super easily hold a conversation at any speed with the windows up or down. Drone is barely an issue. The only time there’s drone is at 2,400rpm if you hold it there. The margin for drone when accelerating is stupid small. Drone when decelerating is around 2,800-2,400rpm, and even then it doesn’t drone badly. I haven’t been bothered at all with the exhaust, and neither has my mom or any passengers when going on road trips that are a few hours in length.

    Boi I respond to everyone😁😁😁 Lol. There’s a smidge of drone on the highway. It really doesn’t bother me though because it’s not crazy bad. The real drone is between 2,600rpm and 3,000rpm. Generally, if you’re at like 2,800rpm or higher, you’re good. So, 76mph+ is that sweet spot of very little drone for me. Honestly tho, I still think the catback has very little drone overall.
