    One thing about the Seadoo and storage. Most have the optional storage bin up front which holds a lot of stuff. This was missed in the video. It is not a waterproof bin however. I can store a beach towel, iphone, water bottle etc into a dry bag along with a tow rope. The tow rope and dry bag double as an anchoring system when you just want to chill by the shore. Another difference is the cooling system. The Seadoo uses a closed loop system with heat exchanger where the Yamaha is running raw water through the engine. Not saying one is better than the other but may influence your decision. Also plastic hull vs fiberglass.

    Spill Burg I enjoy it for the amount of money spent. I am not one to spend big bucks on a Jet Ski. So I find the Trixx to be good value when you consider the VTS and IBR. The hull profile is very flat vs deep V, so it isn’t really a touring machine. It’s about going out and spending an hour beating up the lake. Pretty sure the Yamaha would be just as fun too.

    @paulrenny4801

    3 жыл бұрын

    Spill Burg Yeah if you are near the Ocean then the flat bottom might not be for you. Removing the deck for maintenance is not that big a deal. I just did it last week to do an oil and filter change. Haven’t had any issues with the drive shaft but I have had to replace the wear ring. I continue to use plastic wear rings while many will use stainless ones but the whole point of the wear ring being plastic is that it is sacrificial. Like a soft metal shear pin in an outboard motor. I would be interested if the guys who are complaining about stripped drive shafts are picking up debris into the jet and using a stainless wear ring.

Both of these Ski's are not the fastest out there so i personally think that the power down low with the EXR is a better selling point for me... Although I personally enjoy Sea-Doo... @mike h It will do 1.9 hours per gallon. My 2019 did 57.0 gallons per 29.0 hours (2.0 gal/hr) the first season, and 36.3 gallons per 20.25 hours this season (1.8 gal/hr) - usage diminished due to covid . Admittedly this includes probably more time at idle or slow cruise than the average user, but still it's very economical. As to how far can they go on 1 litre of fuel, not sure (US person here - we're not capable of doing metric it seems - haha). But yes, if you're full throttle, then expect about 3.5 gal/hr. 50MPH top speed at lower elevation (Ontario Canada - 1,000 feet), 44MPH here at higher elevation (New Mexico - 4,600 feet). Your results will vary of course.

    As an owner of a spark, my best words are that it's a great machine for what it was meant for: fun. It's a terrible machine for passing a main channel of a large lake in choppy water, long rides will leave your ass totally numb, riding with passengers isn't any fun, the plastic is tough to keep "looking new" as the black bits turn light gray very quickly without keeping them coated in some kind of plastic protection chemical. The earlier sparks up to 2015 had notorious issues of the PTO shaft output stripping requiring an entire engine crankshaft replacement which was never recalled by BRP, poor design. But, I still own it, it's a lot of fun but I personally love my older heavier fiberglass 1997 waverunner more as it still looks the same as the day it was purchased, maintenance and repairs have been extremely minimal, but it is a 2 cycle oil and fuel hog.

As of Dec 2021 Sea Doo have jacked up their 2022 model prices and the Trixx 3 is now $13,699 vs the brand new Yamaha Jet Blaster at $13,399. For the current asking prices the Yamaha is far ahead. It’s no longer a contest imo. The Sea Doo Trixx 3 needs to be at least $1500 cheaper than the Yamaha to become competitive imho. Oh and the Yamaha does 87-88kph very easily. I agree, kind of....spend a few extra bucks and get the bigger, supercharged model...fast as hell, stable, reliable and good looking and fun! I've got the 2021 FX cruiser SVHO, and love it!

    These skis arent really comparable ar all The trixx is made for cutting up The exr is just a cheap PWC Its like sesdoo made the spark years ago jist to be a cheap mass priduced ski and then afterword saw they had the core to make it blast light good power to weght ...so rhey said hmmm linda a cross between a PWC and the fun of a stand up The exr jist feels like lowe scale regular waveruner ..like .75 scale waverunner PS there is noting you can do on an EXR thst I can't do with a full size touring ski But if you you are young and stand the all day beating the exr gives and want to have some fun as cheaply as possible ..by all means Especially if you can find a good price on a used one You can see rhe calssifieds are full of both skis as peolle bought them and realized rhey arent cruisers and you arent csrrying passengers comfortably

    The Yamaha can pop wheelies. Just buy a freestyle trim system. Thats option has been out for years. I have it on my 90s model superjet. 10k for a plastic sesdoo? No thanks i will buy a 93 to 96 blaster and a 1200 motor for less and be way more fun amd way more hp. The spark is a joke.
