I just installed this hitch and I didn't take out the heat shield or the exhaust. My advice is take them out. It's time well spent.

It’s definitely a bit more work. But the added work space makes it much easier.

Nice work! I had the same kit with the 5th wheel light brake kit plug installed in my Ram 2500 for a total of $1000. Best $1000 I ever spent on that truck.

Looks like you have air ride too on your Rambox truck. We're there any components of the air system that had to be moved during install at all or is there plenty of room?

There was a few tight spaces but nothing to bad

Can this be used if u have the factory 5th wheel prep installed i want a gooseneck as well as the 5th wheel so I can tow what ever trailer I need to without modding the trailers

I don’t know about that, but I do know B and W makes a fifth wheel plate that fits right down into this square hole gooseneck receiver, and you don’t need the factory prep to pull both.

How long does it take? How hard is it?

5:18-5:22. A.v.E. would be proud.

How solid is that new hitch and whats the towing capacity? I have a 2019 also and I'm thinking about doing the same thing

Its been great, we use it to move some big equipment around. And so far it has held up very well.

Can you use their companion fifth wheel hitch for towing with the ramboxes? Or is there not enough clearance?

Yes you can

Do you have e a part # read some reviews on e trailer and it seams for the rambox it may be different but in not sure for the 2019 2020 model

Ram box and standard bed use the same part number

Hows the gooseneck on your trailer clear the bed sides? Any clearance issue while turning??

There is a roughly a 16 inch gap on the sides. So far it has been plenty of space for every day use.

Hey man im installing the hitch but where my chain u bolts go ther is only 1 hole visible do i have to drill thru the fram

What kind of trailer do you pull with your trucks. I have the ram box on my 2017 short bed. I wonder if I can pull a horse trailer with it. Also are your trucks short bed

Sad how most of these ram 2500 with the diesel only have 2200 pounds of payload. That’s only 340 more then my 1/2 ton.

What gooseneck do you have to ensure clearance of the ram boxes?
