Manuals usually get a bit better fuel economy. Does suck if you've got to do a lot of city driving but if not, a good option. Do they due the dual cab in a manual? I don't think they do...

I too own a 2019 MR Triton GLS Premium at 65,000kms and I'd agree with everything Andrew has said, although I get on average better fuel consumption at about 9L/100km. I also own a 2006 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2L Diesel and its runs at about 10L-11L/100km. When I bought my Triton the only dual cabs that came close were an extra $10K-$15K for the same spec level. Best dual cab I've owned!

"More rattles than a millionaire's baby..." 😆 That made my day. Awesome review! I'm from the Philippines and I just bought mine and just waiting for release. It's only the 4x2 GLS with a 6-speed manual (wanted a 4x4, but can't afford it just yet. That's the goal in the future.) so I've been watching a bunch of owner reviews. I know it has its flubs here and there, but for the price they're selling it, at least for the 4x2 model here, it's a damn good one considering it's part of the big 4 of Japanese brands for SUV/pickups (Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota and Isuzu). Glad I didn't push with the Maxus (LDV in Australia) because I've been reading a lot about rust issues. As for Ford, well, their base models (mainly stickshifts) are pretty cheap, but they're not exactly known for reliability here in the country. Anyway, great content. Keep safe and more horsepower to ya!

I understood that there was a mid life upgrade to this model in 2019 which earned bigger front brakes (though maybe only the GLS) and a rear air circulator located on the roof which drives cold air from the front to rear passengers. It sounds like this Triton relates to the earlier, pre updated model. I have a 2021 GLS and so far no complaints at all.

Hey Andrew, I've just come across your review and I really appreciated it. I thought it was insightful and fair. Last year, 2020 I bought a new Triton, and overall I'm happy with it. I feel your pain, the dealer was... well to be blunt, slack. There were a few minor faults with the vehicle but once the car was delivered they didn't want to know about it. Thanks for your take on the brakes, of cause I did my research and knew about this prior to buying but still interesting to hear it from another owner.

Total weight is 4900 kg and I'm getting around 15 Lt per 100 My other Triton is a MQ single cab manual which has a camper on the tray plus I tow a 4.3 Mt boat with total weight of around 3700 kg and I'm still using around 14 Lt per 100 km I prefer driving my ML as it's so much more responsive loaded or unloaded!

Have the previous MQ (and love it) and all the same pro's and con's as yourself however I get really good fuel consumption. Plus be sure to get an oil catch can (like any modern diesel), I catch probably 50ml per 1000km. Plus a throttle controller too -- eliminates that doughy acceleration down low.

Watched this before I brought my car, now owned a 2014 triton for 6 months. Darn good car for what its worth, it does have a few differences to yours though. Sound insulation is terrible, you can practically hear everything thats going on, on the road and in the engine. Another thing is with time the seat fabric is tearing in one spot. Suspension is definitely “bouncy” but I’m use to it now. But so far not a single issue mechanically , just fill it up with fuel, regular maintenance and it just runs. Does decently off road to in stock form to. No regrets buying whatsoever

I also have 2/19 top of the range dual cab. Only issue I have had was the remote petrol door took 2 goes to fix. I’m also not happy with the air-con, sometimes 22deg is freezing or it can be warm and the outside temp has nothing to do with it. Otherwise very happy, at 58,000km currently and I’ve only had to lift the bonnet once, just so I could see what the motor actually looked like 🤔🥴. The rear end can get bounce out a bit on a bumpy bend but otherwise it’s great 👍🏽👍🏽

I agree the brakes are rubbish. I have a 2018 MQ and at 45k I developed a shimmy on the steering wheel. Changed tyres around, rebalanced multiple times and almost gave up. Research eventually turned up the solution; change the discs and pads to non oem and problem solvered.

Munji cord to keep egr inactive, catch can, 33's, 2" lift, bar, scrubs and winch i average 11L/100km combined driving. Yes paint is thin as shit and very weak. The GLS Premium have 320mm rotors and bigger pads so the brakes are good on this spec level.

I bought a 2021 extra cab triton and have been very disappointed with it. The 4wd system failed to engage at 15,000 km and dealer said it was my fault and wanted $1200 to fix ( only $200 worth of parts needed and simple bolt on) . Cruise control often doesn't work and at 30,000 km the indicators stopped working. Dealer servicing is atrocious and expensive They also wont cover anything under warrantee( $400 for first service whilst Ford charge $250). I have a Colorado 4wd which I've kept as even tho its a 2015 model and well thrashed it still is stronger and more reliable than this POS. Lack of towing torque and underpowered compare with the Holden. Colorado leaves it for dead offroad. Being a timber cutter in the mountains I do serious 4wding. The triton is not a serious work ute in these conditions. I'm selling this Triton as soon as the issues are fixed. Stay away from this manufacturer.
