Just a pro tip for anyone in my boat, the Japan built mirror did NOT fit my sedan. Sure it looks the exact same on the outside, but there is a metal plate at the base of the mirror's arm. It goes INTO the door, you can't see it without removing the mirror. This metal plate is where the bolts screw in to. This plate does not extend far enough to reach the screw holes. When I hold the one I bought next to the OEM mirror, there is a very clear difference.

Sorry, no rear video. It's very similar but all perimeter clips are normal type.

@@kdomster9141 Fitting window tint. Always easier with trims out of the way and they don't risk water damage either.

I just tint windows, but seriously doubt it mate.

Doesn't it start to rattle after this? I mean, when the clips have been uncoiled even once, they're not the same???

I'll leave the stress testing to the manufacturer so have no idea how many uses each clip has been designed for. It is however, far more than a few.

Hi. I was wondering if the tweeter replacement is as easy as popping the triangle cover off and swapping it with a speaker that uses the same power socket like the female version of the green one shown e.g. OEM replacement on a busted tweeter is just a hot swap? Can you elaborate for me? Thanks

G'day. I'm just a tint monkey and haven't had occasion to swap a tweeter but yes, if OEM replacement just pop the sail panel and bob's your uncle. The tweeter has simple ramps that engage with the plastic surround to hold it in place. Cheers.

Do you think it's possible to remove that upper clip from the door with the bottom panel clips still in place (to avoid completely removing panel from door)?

Not likely as the trim engages vertically with that clip. Unless there's a tool I don't know about, the only other option would be to break the clip and replace it every time, but you then also risk damaging the door trim mount. Some tinters just leave that master clip engaged and release the rest of the upper clips to remove the inner weather strip.

Does the window have be rolled down first prior to remover door panel? lol. Something inside the door panel scratched up my new tint.

Best done with the window down to avoid any chance of striking the glass with tools and allow extra room. Scratched tint can sometimes be caused by debris on the inner weather strip or a screw of improper length being used during panel fitment.

Is the process the same for the sedan? I just got windows tinted and i hear a rattle coming from the top trim piece right below the window and it’s driving me crazy. What could’ve caused this?

@@joliewu8625 Easy to break if removed incorrectly and possibly cause a rattle. ~$6 (Australian) at the dealership for a replacement.

If the inner weather strip is attached to the door trim you can bend the top over and simply wet up the whole door during tinting or you can remove the door trim to gain access to the glass. I choose the latter to avoid damage from bending and water.

@@Maxfli82 Any generic trim tool set will do and a phillips head screwdriver. As for tinting, that's not something I teach. Again, basic tool kits will be available online along with some instructional videos.

@@tintopia Thank you. No worries about car tinting. The car dealership did some glass panel repair on my car and when they put the door panel back it is slightly misaligned. So I thought I would give it a shot to realign.

@@Maxfli82 Ah, if it's the front door, I'd be checking the upper trailing edge where that special clip goes. Door trim must be lifted up to release as the final motion. The clip then needs to be removed from the door and fitted to the trim before re-assembly so that a simple horizontal push secures the clips all around. That clip must be squeezed from both sides to release the tension for removal and then slid into it's housing on the trim vertically from the bottom. It's a tight fit and takes a fair amount of effort. If they've broken the clip upon removal it won't sit correctly ever again. Otherwise they may have mis-aligned the remaining standard trim clips around the perimeter ?

@@jstepp1025911 Sorry mate I can't offer any further info as I've got no reason to ever measure a speaker size while tinting windows, but at least now you know how to take your own door trim off and check for yourself.
