Jules Porter It forces the other teams to better their cars. Which makes for very interesting and unpredictable racing. It was a feeling like no other when you were on the edge of your seat not knowing if Ford would win in 1966. It was actually a competition. With bop. WEC and IMSA just choose who they want to win and slow the other cars down. The races are artificial and very predictable and therefore boring as heck. @@evann5451 Le Mans back in the day would have cars win by like 8 laps. I get where you’re coming from, but I’d rather have close racing where the drivers and strategy plays a part, not just car performance. IDEALLY, BoP doesn’t change the order, it just compresses it closer together. If you bring the fastest car, you’re still likely to be the fastest. If you bring a slow car, BoP isn’t going to help you much. It’s not like you can just build a shit car and rely on BoP. That’s not always what happens, but it’s what they aim for. Also, reliability can’t be BoP’d. You want to be fast but also not burn up your tires, handle well in wet conditions, and be reliable. Plus it keeps it from becoming a spending competition and increases car counts. People will always complain, whatever is done, but I feel like it’s more of a benefit than a hindrance when done properly and not too heavily.
