So much to love about Elia. She can REALLY swing on three instruments, any one of which would be a career for another musician. Sing? Stunning and unique, a voice that will last along with an innate ability to float around the beat. But my highest praise goes to her astonishing progress on the (in this instance, “fiddle). Jazz violin. She takes great big chances, walks up to the edge....and just when you think she won’t, she miraculously lans back home right on the “1” every time. And if that’s not enough, she nails the toughest skill of all on the violin. She plays in tune! This woman never disappoints., a rarity in any kind of music, but especially jazz.

Well said. I would only add the rich tone and unique bow stokes/rhythms/mini-expressions that she consistently creates. Every note she plays has it's own sweet adventure

Three instruments? I have only seen on violin and vocals, which are the other one/two? Could you point me to a video she plays other instruments? Thanks, curious to see her on other tones

I'm full of admiration for all these musicians! Elia really outdoes herself on that solo. I think Traver has such a unique style, a hybrid of chords and single-note lead, and Soler is new to me, and seems to have a very nice touch. And of course, Carla and Chamorro are the pros that we have come to expect. Thanks for this!

After reading the poetic perfection of the native English speakers below in the nice comments, I hardly dare to say anything about the beauty of this music. I am a real fan of Mr. Chamorro’s work, this time I would just mention the great unisono of the last few bars by Carla with Elida.

Wow! You (all) give me joy when playing. Really splendid ! May I add that Josep Traver is one of the most delicate and inspired guitar player I know. There can not be bad music when Joan is around. 🎻👍🙏

Refreshing and great

How High the Moon has been called the national anthem of Jazz, but it's been many years since I've heard a new rendition that was completely appreciative of its scope. Elia Bastida has made me so happy today. It's like coming back home. Elia has grace and authority, competence and great form. How magnificent to see the resurrection of the true glory of this music. Thank you Joan for continuing to bring these wonderful people to me, to us, to the world. Thank you!

Èlia plays like a mature jazzer, perfect notes, perfect swing, perfect timing, pure perfection, Add in Soler and Travers swinging in the background...Chamorro the coach on the sidelines pushing his players to make more touchdowns! Carla adding in the perfect rhythm chops and culminating in Ornithology....Bird lives! Hats off to Chamorro...this will be featured on my daily videos on Facebook! Thanks for posting RC

@@robertvanruyssevelt7159 Robert..I suspect that you are 100% correct....all of these young people are being affected by playing with the older people, and visa versa...I only see good in all of these videos....each and every musician are learning, and most of all swinging. I just wish that this was better known over here in Canada.

Fantastic! That is amazing progress and some beautiful playing. Congratulations to Elia! And as always, my admiration goes out to her dedicated teachers. Your work and the young people's engagement have become a welcome antidote to depression for me during a difficult time in my country and my own life.

Magical! - Superb performance. Unusual to hear this number begin with the 'verse', but why not?... it leads in nicely to the part we all know and love and Èlia gives it her all.

The Mona Lisa of the Jazz violin amazes us again! (And, what a joy it must be to be included in any one of Joan's musical groups!). And the perfectly synchronized duet with Carla is something quite special - 4:15
