While being an actor always seemed very fun to me, I sometimes doubt if it's as fun as you would think. I don't know how it works and I hope that someone can enlighten me, but you gotta stay in (a sometimes not too comfortable) position for hours, then move in with your complete body as you let out a scream. I think that would get very exhausting very fast. In my country where I've been they mainly use whistles, I assume to replace the screaming. Nonetheless it still sounds like a really fun experience

Revolution whistles. Wow that’s actually interesting. That’d most definitely save a lot of actors vocal cords. The only major downfall would be the lack of realness and immersion since they aren’t actually screaming and using a whistle instead.

@@saucy3530 Yeah I'm feeling the same way about it. I think it's nice to save their vocal cords, but the immersion gets a downgrade. Thankfully they occasionally scream or just bang loudly on some surfaces :)

as someone who has been a scare actor for over 5 years it’s such a blast.

It is more scary when the cameraman separated from other visitors and filming alone

There is nothing more scarier than when your lights go off and you realise you are all alone in the room..

The visuals are great, but it feels like the sound is really lacking. All the actors are going to go hoarse after a couple days and their scares are already a bit ineffectual... it's something Universal does that I think is quite clever, they seem to have some kind of sound system their actors can trigger before a jumpscare. Nice, loud attack sound (and appropriate animal noises for werewolves, etc.) as opposed to just screaming, which you can tell is getting tiring and monotonous for the actors already. And it's only September! The guy at 17:45 is pretty good though, that clicking gives his character a more interesting and creepy vibe, and he won't end up hoarse from it.

That harness rig your talking about is $600 and its pretty useful since you can preload noises in it and I think play them back at a push of a button :)

As a scare actor, I agree. They are going to go hoarse by the end of the first night. The haunt I work at has a 'no screaming' rule for actors. It helps preserve our voice for the whole season. We rely on lines that we come up with on our own, and some other methods. Plus, it has been known that screaming at patrons will only make them irritated and it actually diminishes the scare. It's not only about scaring, but acting, as well. It's why we are called scare actors. You can be scary without screaming at people. Its actually more effective to come up with a fully realized 'scare-acter' (scary character) with a backstory and relationships to the other characters in scene. In our haunt, we were given a choice: make them scream, or make them laugh. I chose a more funny character, coming up with some puns involving my props. Me and one other girl would distract the patrons while a third snuck up on them. Worked like a charm.

I would never get out of the crowd in this scary place being so artificial but this is really scary but I really appreciate the ghost acting did by the people's that wooden bridge thought

I agree. It's not my idea of scary. It's just annoying. I'd love to go to haunted attractions like this and get scared but unfortunately most of their "scares" just involve shouting in your ear or face and almost every single one of the actors do it so you got people screaming in your ear and face for a hour or an hour and a half. I didn't come there to go deaf, I came there to get scared.

This is so good in a creepy way 😅 but the people can silently touch them even better but may get punch afterward haha 🤣
