had this alarm in early 2000 cliiford avanguard 4 that did this it really worked also never got car jacked but i use to test it out and with out pin code car would shut off

That is just showing anti-carjacking feature. Other wise car can’t be started to begin with. Only owner with correct Pincode can start it. Once started in any case scenario. It adds another level of security.
