The jerky is best mixed in with the spag/balls served on the bun. The peaches and M&M's eaten together are a match made in heaven.

This one is pretty decent cold, but yeah, sometimes they'll get a heater bag, sometimes they'll use a coleman stove with a pressure pot (see: boat anchor), sometimes field kitchens will have a large pot of boiling water, and sometimes vehicles will come equipment with a water heater built in them

I found it best to keep the beef jerky in your mouth for a bit to soften it before chewing. I ate boxes of IMPs when they first hit the surplus market and liked the coffee from 2018 than the 2019 3in1 junk popular at Asian stores. Over all, every IMP is just like the last one you ate; US MRE's have much more variety.

Pretty chill video, my man! My tank commander friend had said he loved the jerky only because he could knaw on it and make the time pass a little bit more on turret watch shifts. Another tip he passed on was putting it in the beverage back with the hot sauce and heating it up.

Funnily enough, as a Canadian, I've always said and heard Poutine like "poo-teen" along with everyone around me, but I know some eastern Canadians can get pretty uptight about saying french words the french way.

Was deployed after 9/11 to the Middle East and we were sharing a base with Canadian troops. They weren't allowed on the perimeter like we were because we were base defense but one of them wanted a camel spider. I was able to catch one and a water bottle and traded him for this menu item. If you're a Canadian soldier in combat sometime in the near future in Europe, you'll find yourself on the go for several days. There's no time for sleep and certainly no time to sit down and warm up a Canadian MRE with a flameless ration heater. Yet you're body needs food and replenishment. You can feel it. Your muscles are starting to lag and it feels like you're walking through three feet of mud. What do you do? You can use parts of the Canadian MRE like an American First Strike Ration. There might be lulls in the battle action, several minutes at a time perhaps as you hold your position while awaiting orders. Hopefully you've had time to break down your MRE. In your easily accessible pants thigh pocket, you stashed the small plastic package of beef jerky, peanut butter, hamburger bun, and M&Ms candy. First thing to eat, the beef jerky. As you hold your position, you have time to retrieve the sachet of beef jerky, tear it open and start chewing chunks of it. Along with the beef jerky, you tear open the hamburger bun sachet and bit a chunk off so that your quick, meal is beef and bread. The Canadian sergeant yells, "Move up!" Time to go. You stuff the beef jerky and bread sachets back in your pants thigh pocket, button it back up and move out. The next morning, you're still on the move in battle. Your stomach is growling and the beef jerky and bread are long gone. The spaghetti entree is still in your small fanny pack. No time to heat that up and dine. Instead you retrieve the sachet of peanut butter from your pocket, tear it open and squeeze nutritious peanut butter into your mouth and swallow. It's good protein calories and will help you keep going this morning. If necessary you later give yourself a dose of sugar energy by munching on the M&M candies. Finally, some luck. Your unit halts and is told to hold position until further orders. Your platoon leader expects the wait to be at least 20 to 30 minutes, probably more. After taking up your holding position, you can now feast on your spaghetti entree. You chance it that there's enough time to heat up the entree with the flameless ration heater. And so it goes. Ten minutes later, you enjoy a piping hot sachet of spaghetti, which always tastes good when warmed up. You had dreaded eating it cold. The hot spaghetti hits the spot in your empty stomach. You even have another ten minutes of rest in your holding position, laying among the vegetation in concealment watching the territory ahead. Suddenly the sergeant yells, "Move out!" You stand up, grasping your C8A1 battle rifle and head back to your tracked infantry squad vehicle. You wonder more about what your next Canadian MRE is going to be rather than the Russians up ahead. You don't have long to find out. As you reach the APC, your squad leader reaches into a cardboard box and hands you your next MRE meal. The entree is 'Shepherd's Pie'. Not too bad, you muse as you step inside the APC.

Greetings 🖖 from Korea~~~^^ I am your new subscriber. I like the way you vlog… because it is a really-honest-to goodness-one’s opinion …. no sugar coating of the brand, maker or the items itself. And the best is, you add things what you think is needed…. and you also take consideration of the suggestions and recommendations of your viewers. Anyway, as you know… we are still consider “at-war” with North Korea. Plus, natural disasters like typhoons, earthquakes….. And so, I am personally asking you, Sir…. Which bug out bag is the best ? In terms of the items inside and the bag itself. I don’t mind, if I’ll add things here and then. Since I am new in your Channel, I am watching one by one randomly your videos…. interesting, and truly informative. I hope, you will have a video of the BEST BUG OUT of 2023. More power to your vlogs/videos. God bless 🙏. Respect ✊ and Peace ✌️

Now different parts of Quebec pronounce it in thier own dialect, the general acceptance is poutien, at least where i come from, Montmangy. Not a big deal and however you pronounce it its still accepted and understood. I still love your stuff anyways. Been living in the US for 23 years and i do miss Nescafe and Tim Hortons.

What a great and classic menu. Canadian IMPs are one of the best military rations to date. As well just to achieve the brown bag IMP is about 65$ per meal. The new rations are the same plus 25$ average. As for the heater bag , Canadian soldiers get those separate. No offense but an animal that licks its own butthole isn’t my judgment on how well the food tastes. 😂😂😂 interesting review though fella.

From what I can tell it's pronounced both ways, and it depends on what part of Canada you're from. Seems like people from Quebec call it "Poo-Tin" whereas people from elsewhere pronounce it "Poo-Teen". Tomato, Tom-ah-to.
