The only improvement I see is how much better it would look in my garage. Seriously, this is a top-notch set up. You did an outstanding job adding all the goodies necessary to make this a perfect fishing machine. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Idea..... Get a piece of pvc pipe the size of the Yak-Power Switch, mount pipe to bucket where you take out power switch and mount power switch on top of pipe to raise it off the bottom of bucket. Not sure if it would work but that way your supplies in bucket would be on top of it.
Perfect setup man. Very clean and not to much crap like most people have

Awesome video, tons of great info, thanks for putting the up. Did you make or buy your trailer mounted rod carry tube? And where do you store you Mirage drive during transport?
@BlueSummitOutdoors

Thanks! I made the rod carry tube with PVC and a kit from Amazon. As for the mirage drive I put in my trucks bed or cab for long trips and I just leave it sitting in the kayak with a leash on shorter trips.

Blue Summit Outdoors I haven’t used one but the guy I fish with has a PA. I know it’s a front to back motion which is hard for some to get used to. Looks like the perfect set up though. I love my kayak but yours looks like there is a lot more room and storage.
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Yea definitely an adjustment going from one to the other in either direction. I came from a PA so it's less room than I'm used to. However it's not as open at the PA but I feel like there is more usable storage and space. Definitely worth at least checking out.

Looking to switch as welI. Glad someone has it already, not available at my town shop yet. What is that plano bag where your soft plastics are? Also, is there a bucket at all that you can buy for the front hatch? Seems useless to have it if you cant store things in it.
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
The Plano bag is a Plano tackle wrap there's a link in the description of the video to it on Amazon. I got mine at my local field and stream. Delaware Paddle Sports said that their is a front hatch liner coming they just didn't have it yet.
Those Hobie PA paddle clips, do they come in pairs? Great video!!!
@BlueSummitOutdoors

Thanks! No they come singular. I was lucky enough to pickup 4 used for $25 on a Pro Angler Facebook group. I would shop around and try to find some used ones, a lot of PA owners don't use/like them.
Which fish finder are you looking to buy? Also great job on the rigging

Great boat, man! I just picked up a used 2019 Camo outback myself and working on rigging it out. Does that Nocqua 10ah battery run both the fish finder and powerpole? If so, about how long can you run them for? Thanks for any info you can provide.

@@BlueSummitOutdoors - sweet. Good to know. Thanks man.
I'm also thinking about making a change from my PA to outback, the weight is too much, and more when we fish constantly!
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
I agree the weight was my deciding factor especially as much as I fish. Plus it wasnt really the boat ramps they were easy it was the places that didn't have boat ramps where it was a huge pain!
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Yup. It was still really heavy but don't get me wrong the boonedox landing gear definitely helps
So what would something like that cost? in GBP?? Thanks
I had a question. So the bungee for the paddle just screws out and you can just screw the PA paddle clips in with no modifications?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Yup. There are two tabs that you can stick a pair of needle nose pliers in and spin it right out. Then the PA paddle clip screws right in. And it is totally reversable.
Nice customization, Sir. What is your primary style of fishing, types of water, etc.? What are your thoughts plus and minus as compared to your PA? Was your PA 12 or 14? Thanks
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I primarily fish Lakes and small reservoirs. However I do fish small rivers and lakes with standing timber, both of which I need to be able to paddle as I don't want to risk damage to the mirage drive. I had a PA 12, and as far as that goes comparison wise I plan on making a video comparing the two soon. But the short comparison would be PA has more room, more stable, and a superior seat. The Outback is faster, maneuvers better, Lighter, and paddles better. If you have anymore specific questions let me know.

So how do the anchor trolly and the Power pole compare? When to use these? What kind of water do you want these?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Basically if I'm in 7ft or less I use the power pole and if it's really windy I'll use both to keep me from spinning. Anything deeper than 7ft I use the anchor wizard with the anchor trolley to position my boat, depending on if I want the wind to my face or back.
Like that keel guard let us know how it does
@BlueSummitOutdoors

Nice setup! Thought about adding Boondox?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I thought about, because I had one on my Hobie PA12. But I don't think I'm going to go that route on this kayak. I did switch from the Hobie scupper cart (which I was not happy with) and went with the C-Tug cart and I've been very happy with that so far.
Thats a crazy amount of gear on one outback. How often do you use that much stuff in one outing?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Usaully spend at least 6-8 hours on the water. That's my setup for an all day trip tournament bass fishing on a lake. River/Creek/saltwater would be drastically different.
How’s that bungee system work when loading the wheels into the scupper holes when it’s on the water with how buoyant the wheels are? Every video I see is on dry land.
@BlueSummitOutdoors
3 жыл бұрын
The scupper car is a pain. I’d go boonedox or a cart that you sit the kayak on and strap it to.
pimp my ride" n yer why not if ya can"
Your keel guard looks really clean and uncut in your first vid. Did you redo it and cut the corners on the bend?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Yea I had to bc they wouldn't stay down the bend kept coming up. But still works great. I might have been able to fix that with some heat when I applied it.
Have you try go fishing in a open water with your kayak fullyloaded like that?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Both times I have taken out (on smaller lakes) so far it has been fully loaded like that.
Why did u change from PA to New 19’ Outback? I am trying to decide to go for a PA14 or new Outback. I had a 16’ outback for 2yrs
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
I wanted something lighter, faster, and paddles well for the river as well as something that still stable enough to stand. And it checks all those boxes.
what is the lenght of your trailer ? Can you make a video of the trailer setup. I got a PA 14 Camo planning to buy a Trailer. You have done a good job on yours.

is it worth it or better getting a 12 or 14 skiff with outboard? looking at salt water flats and protected harbor. is it too heavy to lift by yourself? any places do trade in on old kayaks? thanks

Great looking boat. Is horizontal rod storage available through the front hatch? How does the outback perform in skinny water? Most of my fishing will be rivers and creeks.
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
I would say no on the horizontal rod storage on this boat. I took it out for the first time yesterday and it paddles great of you have to take the pedals out in shallow water. It also turns on a dime. I would think it would be great for rivers and creeks. On the water video coming soon!
Can you tell me how you installed the paddle clips? I ordered a couple from AKC and they told me they would not fit the 2019 outback bungie holes.

Do you store your kayak on that trailer 24/7? Not worried about the 3" pvc denting the bottom? Just got a 2019 outback, trying to figure out how I'm going to store it on my trailer - I'd like to keep it right-side up as opposed to upside down but I don't want to dent/damage
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
I used to have a Hobie PA and I stored that on the PVC 24/7 with no issues ever. The Outback I store the same except during the winter I store it on the Boonedox Yak-Rack to save space in my garage. But I've honestly never had any issues with storing kayaks on the PVC as long as the PVC is adjusted to the right width.
@rmdodson312
5 жыл бұрын
@@BlueSummitOutdoors Thanks for the quick reply. And you've always used 3" PVC? Ever use 3" Corrugated PVC pipe? Just saw another video where a guy said he liked it better than rigid PVC because it adapts to the kayak better.
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
No problem. I've always used conduit pipe. It holds up better than PVC. PVC gets brittle, and I've had it break. The conduits it's heavier duty and holds up better to UV rays from what others have said. Don't know much about the corrugated.
@rmdodson312
5 жыл бұрын
@@BlueSummitOutdoors Glad I asked, didn't know there was a big difference since they're both PVC. 3" Schedule 40 conduit it is. Wish I heard more testimony on corrugated over time.
If you don't like the Outback would you go back to a PA?
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Yea after a year or 2 but I just took it out for the first time yesterday pretty happy with it so far. A few minor tweaks to make but nothing that can't be addressed. But yea after a year or 2 if I miss/want the PA I'd go back. Especially with some kind of redesign that I liked.
How stable is this compared to a pro angler? Why did you chose this over the pro angler you had?

@@BlueSummitOutdoors I had the PA14 loved it, am a big guy at 280LBS. And it was super stable. My only issues was I couldn't enter tournaments that was in creeks. And it was a very hard kayak to paddle with, and using mirage drive in certain spots was just out the question. I also plan on fishing devils river sometime soon, and obviously the PA14 would be long choice there as well. Knowing this would you recommend outback? Is the outback easy to paddle? cause certain trips I wont be using mirage drive.
@BlueSummitOutdoors
5 жыл бұрын
Yes I would definitely recommend it for that because thats the same reason I sold my PA for the Outback. It paddles well and it does great when I take it on River floats. To me it's a great all around boat and is very versatile. I'd definitely demo if you could or see if someone in your area has one for you to try.
