    The only improvement I see is how much better it would look in my garage. Seriously, this is a top-notch set up. You did an outstanding job adding all the goodies necessary to make this a perfect fishing machine. Thanks for sharing!!!!

    Idea..... Get a piece of pvc pipe the size of the Yak-Power Switch, mount pipe to bucket where you take out power switch and mount power switch on top of pipe to raise it off the bottom of bucket. Not sure if it would work but that way your supplies in bucket would be on top of it.

    Blue Summit Outdoors I haven’t used one but the guy I fish with has a PA. I know it’s a front to back motion which is hard for some to get used to. Looks like the perfect set up though. I love my kayak but yours looks like there is a lot more room and storage.

  • @BlueSummitOutdoors

    Yea definitely an adjustment going from one to the other in either direction. I came from a PA so it's less room than I'm used to. However it's not as open at the PA but I feel like there is more usable storage and space. Definitely worth at least checking out.

  • @BlueSummitOutdoors

    @BlueSummitOutdoors

    Yup. There are two tabs that you can stick a pair of needle nose pliers in and spin it right out. Then the PA paddle clip screws right in. And it is totally reversable.

  • @alanjohnson8396
    @alanjohnson83965 жыл бұрын

    Nice customization, Sir. What is your primary style of fishing, types of water, etc.? What are your thoughts plus and minus as compared to your PA? Was your PA 12 or 14? Thanks

  • @BlueSummitOutdoors

    @BlueSummitOutdoors

    5 жыл бұрын

    Thanks. I primarily fish Lakes and small reservoirs. However I do fish small rivers and lakes with standing timber, both of which I need to be able to paddle as I don't want to risk damage to the mirage drive. I had a PA 12, and as far as that goes comparison wise I plan on making a video comparing the two soon. But the short comparison would be PA has more room, more stable, and a superior seat. The Outback is faster, maneuvers better, Lighter, and paddles better. If you have anymore specific questions let me know.

  • @BlueSummitOutdoors

    @BlueSummitOutdoors

    Basically if I'm in 7ft or less I use the power pole and if it's really windy I'll use both to keep me from spinning. Anything deeper than 7ft I use the anchor wizard with the anchor trolley to position my boat, depending on if I want the wind to my face or back.

    I used to have a Hobie PA and I stored that on the PVC 24/7 with no issues ever. The Outback I store the same except during the winter I store it on the Boonedox Yak-Rack to save space in my garage. But I've honestly never had any issues with storing kayaks on the PVC as long as the PVC is adjusted to the right width.

    @@BlueSummitOutdoors Thanks for the quick reply. And you've always used 3" PVC? Ever use 3" Corrugated PVC pipe? Just saw another video where a guy said he liked it better than rigid PVC because it adapts to the kayak better.

  • @BlueSummitOutdoors

    @BlueSummitOutdoors

    No problem. I've always used conduit pipe. It holds up better than PVC. PVC gets brittle, and I've had it break. The conduits it's heavier duty and holds up better to UV rays from what others have said. Don't know much about the corrugated.

    @@BlueSummitOutdoors Glad I asked, didn't know there was a big difference since they're both PVC. 3" Schedule 40 conduit it is. Wish I heard more testimony on corrugated over time.

    Yea after a year or 2 but I just took it out for the first time yesterday pretty happy with it so far. A few minor tweaks to make but nothing that can't be addressed. But yea after a year or 2 if I miss/want the PA I'd go back. Especially with some kind of redesign that I liked.

    @@BlueSummitOutdoors I had the PA14 loved it, am a big guy at 280LBS. And it was super stable. My only issues was I couldn't enter tournaments that was in creeks. And it was a very hard kayak to paddle with, and using mirage drive in certain spots was just out the question. I also plan on fishing devils river sometime soon, and obviously the PA14 would be long choice there as well. Knowing this would you recommend outback? Is the outback easy to paddle? cause certain trips I wont be using mirage drive.

    Yes I would definitely recommend it for that because thats the same reason I sold my PA for the Outback. It paddles well and it does great when I take it on River floats. To me it's a great all around boat and is very versatile. I'd definitely demo if you could or see if someone in your area has one for you to try.
