Airstream has LAID AN EGG AS took a good fiberglass idea & not only priced themselves out of the market, they're making all competitors look good in comparison. Pre-Airstream Nests were priced @$30,000; Airstream Nests are 50% @ $45,000+
I think that was the most complete and comprehensive RV/Trailer review I've ever watched. Excellent work, thank you.

If I was going to buy a camp trailer the Nest would top the list. It has great styling, quality, utility and value. Like everything else, you get what you pay for. This trailer is a winner. When you buy cheap, you get cheap. Quality always costs less. I would like to see twin propane bottles.
Love that layout back entry 👍
Very, very well done walk-thru/review video, my friend. Quality job!

The spare tyre is just like the rest which is great ........ peace of mind eh :-)
I seen this at the L.A. Auto Show and it's pretty cool. I plan to buy an Airstream but not this one mainly because it is 3,200 dry weight and my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT can only tow up to 3,400 pounds. I seen another Airstream that weighed around 2,800 wet so I will go with that. I hope I can buy this next year after I buy a house...they are pretty cool and made with very great quality
Excellent, excellent job on this video. It does not get any better than this on a trailer review.
Well this thing starts out at 45,000 crazy I would go buy one tomorrow between 25 and 30k
Beautiful
I just purchased a Forest River 20-ft. The weight is about the same, but the price is only one-third, plus it has a full bathroom with tub/shower. Knowing Airstream, the Nest will probably last for 50 years, but I won't. :D
I saw a Cintas uniform truck parked out front.
Fantastic review as always. I prefer my CampLite over the Nest--a MUCH better value. The Nest is nice, but not at that price.

This was a great idea when it was a sub-30k camper. Not so much at $45k, I'd just buy the sport instead if I had that money.

Damn! Nice trailer and surely well constructed. But that price..... Airstreams are worth another 30% over the competition, but double no way.
How would this handle as a full-time living travel trailer, Colorado winters?
can we order a custom made version of this beautiful trailer WITHOUT a microwave and certain features? Or would we have to just rip the microwave out ourselves?
I love it I do not like the curtains it makes it look cheap inside.

@@campingworld that's nice to know there's an option.
The cedar in the closet is a natural insect repellant.
Now for some solar panels and some shooting ports.
I like it alot. I’d fall in love if it was priced between /$30 - $36,000. What’s that you say? “The novice 28 to 38 young’ ins can do the $45,000 + finance thing”. Even though I have the cash... it won’t happen. I know, I’ll wait and keep my eyes open for the financed repos. Yah, that’s the ticket !
This is so very awesome! Alas, so is the price...
The Nest has a lot going for it, except the price. On top of the high price you would need to upgrade to the better batteries. Why is the air conditioning unit so large for a small RV. It should be 8 to 10,000 btu's. Where could I install a 3000 inverter generator? I think with all the upgrades I would need, this Nest would jump to a price that would push me into another category of high end RV's.
Did he ever show the bed??
The non propane refrigerator killed it for me. I camp remotely and rely on the refrigerator. Otherwise this is a great camper.

I think everyone relies on a refrigerator😂😂 but it is pretty nice. Everyone on the comments talk about the price, but given that this can last for decades and built great I think the price can be covered after a while. I'm personally not getting this one mainly because of the weight. My 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander GT can tow up to 3,400 pounds so I will look into another Airstream under that weight limit
I’m assuming the dinette makes into a bed.

Debra, that is correct. Good question and thanks for watching! -Ian Baker
Well hell....Nice trailer....Just priced way outside our price range.
opinions on the Armadillo anyone?
I yes it is a nice trailer should have a rack on the top so in case you want to put bike or boat something also should have clearance of the tires in case you want to go further the Terrain or Mountain. And I assume the price is too high.
Nice trailer, but priced too high.

It isn't a referred to as a "rear entry" for nothing.
I think it can float on water!
For that amount I would buy a MUCH larger and MUCH better constructed Oliver trailer.
Mr. Baker gave an amazing tour of this Air Stream Nest. I'm toataly sold on this unit now. Now how much... because its still a Air Stream and we know how pricey thay can be : / Regardless... I love this new Airstream nest.

Put a two person dinette table to the side and a full bed to the other side. A couple could eat dinner and go to bed without effing around with the table. How many "families" will really want this? But it could be great for couples.
The demonstration was good, but it failed to show the critical interior conversion from day to sleeping mode, always a hassle in small trailers. Airstream should be commended for migrating to the future of composite construction which offers finish, liveability, serviceability and strength unattainable in their obsolete aluminum units. But the design suffers from external tanks which preclude 4 season operation, limited ground clearance that makes unimproved roads off-limits, stinky, dangerous open flame propane cookery instead of state of the art induction, no security system and power provisioning that is not up to servicing the installed amenities. All-in-all, a good start at the future that needs refining.

Is there a way to lock battery and propane box area? Also storage areas too?
@campingworld
Жыл бұрын
Hey J.N., Ian Baker here. The storage areas will lock, however a manufacturer cannot design a locking propane compartment in the US as it's against code. To my understanding, there needs to be access to the propane compartment in the event of a fire. Hope that helps! -Ian Baker

@Camping World Then batteries should be inside the trailer as so much theft and owners can't afford to replace all that is taken.

Is a dry bath available in a nest?
@campingworld
6 жыл бұрын
Otto, not at this time. Currently the only floorplan changes on the Nest are the dinette (16U) or the fixed front bed (16FB). Hope that helps and thanks for watching! -Ian Baker

Henry, I apologize, this particular model has actually sold and therefore is not on the website. Please call Airstream of Virginia at (855)570-4398 for price and availability. I believe MSRP is right around $45k just to give you a general ballpark idea. Thanks for watching! -Ian Baker
The 20 pound propane tank is too small and not "easily exchangeable". I've never seen a 20 pound tank for exchange. They are all 40 pound tanks. The 30 gallon mixed black and grey tank will be full the second day of use. For 45K I would expect solar and lithium batteries. If I lay sideways on the rubber mattress with a pillow, will my feet push against the wall? It seems to be a luxury price for spartan features.
22K not a nickle more.
I’m detecting a trace of New England in his accent.
Price ? Thanks

Why is it so expansive
No corian countertop? You have to squat to use the microwave? No built in TV and digital antenna? Simple slide in / out pantry would have been much nicer than the little cutouts. Hate the fabric covered roof panel. That will stink after absorbing odors.
@tikitribe5715
6 жыл бұрын
Yup. That was my first thought. Your roof is going to absorb everything you cook.
I love it, a minamilst dream home. Airstreams last forever which justifies the cost.
Nice camper but at 45k I’d rather get a fifth wheel or a 40’ pull behind.
I can't stand reviews / demos that don't demo everything. Also, once again, when Airstream deviates from their bread and butter they completely crap the bed. Not sure where they came up with the price point on this new concept model. I'm very interested in how many of these move in the next 12 months.
first
I was going to say produce it for less than $20k ....most people can't afford that cash outlay for a mini trailer
I don't know anyone who does or has ever owned an airstream because of the ridiculous price tag. even having traveled over 1,000,000 miles from main to Florida to San Jose to Seattle I rarely see these. I don't understand how they stay in buisness.
Tiny microwave, itty bitty freezer 45K$?
Count how many times this guy said 'again'
Pricey. No receiver hitch to put a bike rack.
Pretty but niche market
Folks, I think Airstream failed to understand their market.
If the 45K figure is true you must be joking- not going to compete against the Alto for 10K less. Fail.
Meh. Airstream Trying hard to capitalize on their belief that their name can command 45k for this. I agree with previous poster; Camplite is the better choice for this class/category.
Now they make a fiberglass model and charge more? This model is doomed, maybe at 20-25K it might sell. Too much competition in that price range to be successful.
Seriously. A 29 minute video about a small trailer? I don't want this kind of detail. I will read the manuals or look at the freaking thing in person.
Sorry but I wanted this commercial to move along this just drug out for each little thing I became frustrated watching, then a I started to slide the bar to speed it up then i simply gave up watching. I dont have an hour to watch one video speed it up!!!
Stainless steel anything is cr*p!!? It shows every. Single. Water mark. And fingerprint. I will be so glad when this trend *finally* dies. That sink would be the first thing I’d rip out & replace.
wet bathrooms are gross.
Way over priced, very heavy dry for a single axle trailer.
You should divorce your wife immediately for thinking a camping fire stinks.

Bwahahahahhaha. I'd be embarrassed to tell someone how much these cost if I were actually selling them... Because it can't be justified.
