2018 Yamaha Tricity 155 LAMS Scooter Review

Фильм және анимация

Yamaha's Tricity 155 scooter is an ideal run-around, with larger wheels and a dual front wheel setup offering good stability and an ideal option for anyone, even those a bit nervous about trying two wheeled transport.
Here's what we thought.

    Thanks for the review. I just tested one and it was really good overall, as you said. My wife would love it too. So easy to use your feet are largely superfluous... You can really enjoy the ride.

    I got one yesterday,very impressed with it,traded out my mt03 ,that's how good and fun it is,I got the grey gun metal color version. Oh I love how you can push the indicator button in to cancel ,saves you over pushing the other direction,that is a big bonus for me as I some time do with other bikes

    Good video.....am considering one of these as here in Greece we have very slippery, polished road surfaces in many areas . This has been very challenging with all the large capacity motorcycles I have owned here. Is there much in the way of feedback from the front end when reaching the limits of grip and does the Tricity 'lock' itself upright when coming to a halt like the Piaggio model does?

    We had no issues with grip, with feel being similar to a regular scooter, but we don't have many surfaces like you described here - I think the additional stability should help though. There's a sidestand rather than the bike locking the front wheels to stay upright

    good day, just a quick question, if you have no experience riding motorbikes and want to start to try riding do you still need to balance on this one?since its 3wheels already.

    Yes, the 300 has a suspension lock but the 125 and 155 don't and they are a little harder to do u turns than a simple scooter.

    Can't wait! Not sure they did it justice with the early ride pictures they released, but it looks like it'd be fun, and you know with the MT-09 powerplant there'll be plenty of power!

    Would you be able to pass the MOST test on one of these?

  • @BikeReviewcomau

    @BikeReviewcomau

    6 жыл бұрын

    Hey Louis do you mean would it be possible, or would you be allowed to use one for the test? It should certainly be possible to pass the test on one, and a quick check on the RMS website doesn't reveal anything that would prevent you using this particular machine. You'd probably be restricted to a scooter type license though until you've met the requirements to be allowed on a motorcycle though.

    I’ve got a 59L SHAD Top box on mine. It needs a special tri city conversion which is about $60. I’ve only got the 125 but I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it until if falls apart.

    what's the top speed ?

  • @BikeReviewcomau

    @BikeReviewcomau

    6 жыл бұрын

    It would depend how big a straight and how much of an incline you're on. 110km/h would be possible but 90-100 is where it's comfortable, much faster than that and any uphill section will effect your pace, and you won't have much acceleration. If you're regularly doing 110-120 for longer stints something a little larger might be the go.

    Can it cruise at 110km/h??

  • @BikeReviewcomau

    @BikeReviewcomau

    6 жыл бұрын

    Cruising at 110km/h is going to be a bit of a stretch with that little 155cc powerplant, as I'd consider being able to comfortably cruise at this speed, also needing a bit more power available if you need to overtake and similar safely. So you could reach 110km/h but I wouldn't recommend expecting to cruise comfortably at that speed, especially if there's some hills to overcome. Something like the XMax 300 is far more suited to those speeds.

    I maxed mine out 115kmh so far...cruising at a 100-105 is pretty good in highway,but suspension is pretty harsh on bumpy roads.

    If you want a bike similar to this that can do 110+ then go for the Yamaha Niken.
