    Spot on review!! I really like the depth and professionalism of your review with keeping it simple for everyone to understand. I like the outtakes at the end, one of the hardest things to making a video is speaking smooth and fluent to the camera. It had me laughing so hard. Also props to the film crew shots and edits!!

    What a great review and I’m glad you shared both the positive and negatives about this machine. I know it’s got a few issues but I think they’re working them out and it’s good to hear that it’s a well built machine and can handle a tumble and get up and keep going . Looks like a lot of good potential to come and to tune . Thanks for sharing this in-depth review with lots to positive features that makes feel better about the choice I made when I bought mine . I love it !!

    those outtakes...they really made it. if you could get just a smidge of that relaxed/personable atmosphere into the review, you've got it. Your info and detail are great. Especially the credibility of taking a machine and running it through baja for 500+ miles. a proper review. Subbed to watch the progression of your on-camera personality ;)

    You should cover the changes from the 2018 to the 2021. The front tie rods seem to have a bit of trouble and cv boots / axles (Dual Plunge Axles?). Not much but I would like to see how these were addressed going forward from 2018.

    Other people say they do "real world" testing and just beat the trash out of a machine. Thank you for doing honest and REAL testing and giving ALL the facts about a machine both positive and negative. Being a company that actually races and designs/builds products, you seem to have a great appreciation for quality and a dislike for the lack there of. I have driven many types of machines and the one I have owned since 2012 has one piece at a time fallen completely apart including the first failure at less than 1 hour and multiple failures at 10 hours. The failures continue to this day but are fewer now that I've put aftermarket on 80% of the machine. I promise you, I don't ride as hard as you drove this Wildcat! LOL My thought is if you wear-out or break a part quickly and replace it with an aftermarket part that lasts for years, the O.E.M. part was lacking quality. I am a retired mechanic of 41 years and do in depth maintenance to all of my machines. I am very interested in the new Wildcat XX just from the build standpoint and the attention to detail. I ride mountains and trails including mud and water and I'm curious to see, in more detail, how this thing is built. I'm not going to mention the name of my machine, but you nailed it with the bleeping out the names during your blooper reel. My whole front end, all four bearings, and both rear axles were flopping around like a fish out of water when I put it on my lift and shook down the machine at 10 hours!! Needless to say the manufacturer and dealer denied everything. Thanks again for your honesty and your great videos!

    Hey Justin, I just picked up a 2019 Textron Wildcat XX LTD in jet black!!! Man, the pics and videos don’t do this machine justice!!! In person, it is a work of art!! HUGE front control arms, double sheer everything, huge frame throughout the whole machine, strong cage, and so much!! Even the welds look great! LOL I was looking at two machines but after researching this one to great depths and your real world testing and your in depth (and sometimes amusing) reviews, I went to the dealer and bought one! They gave me an amazing price too! Not much more than a P...... or a C..A. but man do you get so much more for your money!!!! When you start it it sounds like a full fledge race machine! That lope!! Haha Thanks again for your great reviews! Can’t wait to break it in and give it a good run in the mountains and on the beaches!! If I feel I need to adjust the suspension to my riding, I will send you my specs and start with your spring set up!!!

    I will get you a pic soon. We just used the GPS bracket that comes with the HDS7. We mounted the intercom above the switches in the flat spot but put the radio in the glove box. We did that due to time or lack there of. Our permanent plan it to have the radio with the intercom above the switches. We ran the stock seats due to time as well and they are fine and worked but not good enough for long rides and hard cornering. We will be running a nice race seat soon.

  • @justinsmith2958

    @justinsmith2958

    I think the Turbo S is a stellar advancement in build quality and strength for Polaris vs previous Polaris models. I think it and the XX are very close in that respect. If you made me pick one over the other and build quality was the only category used I would pick the XX due to the double sheer mounting of every suspension part and the lack of ball joints.

    Do you guys think you will offer different color spring options anytime soon, or at least direct us to where we can have them done? Some machines like the expensive Can Am XRC look fantastic with their blue shocks and to turn them gray would match nothing else on the vehicle. At a minimum adding a black option would be nice, it goes with everything.

  • @justinsmith2958

    6 жыл бұрын

    If we are talking about JUST low speed comfort STOCK then the XX is much more plush and comfortable than the Turbo S. Even with our kit on your Turbo S. But, that being said, in order for the XX to do the things your Turbo S can do with respect to faster driving, bigger jumps, G outs, aggressive cornering we will have to sacrifice some of the factory XX plush ride to gain the rest. If they were both tuned and both capable of the same hard driving then I think they would both have the same low speed plush factor. Hope that helps

    One thing I didn't see mentioned, how did the CVT belt hold up? Also, how would you compare/contrast to the YXZ1000?

  • @justinsmith2958

    @justinsmith2958

    6 жыл бұрын

    We had zero belt issues even with some 100 degree weather while floored in sand washes. I couldn't tell you anything about the clutch having not had the cover off yet. The power is similar to a YXZ, maybe a bit better. As far as handling goes, there is no comparison between the two. In the rough the XX is in a different class than the YXZ. But the suspension design on the YXZ has always been its achilles heal. The only thing a YXZ does better in my opinion is turn. I do love shifting them though.

    Justin Smith thanks for the reply! I'm having a hard time deciding on a SxS, mostly because of the CVT. I'd love to not worry about breaking belts, but also am not a fan of the sub par suspension of the YXZ :/

    They built the system to not get hot, when talking about the belt. The exit on the cvt is like a leaf blower when on it and there's a lot of room between the secondary and primary. I expect the belt to last a while on mine.

    I dont agree with your "it has plenty of power" because I drove it and I was not overly impressed with the power at all. Also I have personally seen one race a XP1k and the XX lost MULTIPLE TIMES. I agree the suspension is the all star of this machine but its not up to racing/hard riding. They do seem to be well built though and that is were all the extra weight comes in.

    Luckily speed is always pretty easy to gain. Putting a turbo into these XX's or an Evolution tune makes them plenty of fast! What it lacks in speed it makes up for in durability.

    @@ShockTherapyllc I agree that putting a turbo on would be ideal. To me though when you spend that kind of money on a NA machine then have to dump ~3k in a turbo kit (plus labor) you might have been better off to start with a turbo machine. What I REALLY want to see is a XX with a factory turbo. I think it would be real competition to the X3 and RZR Turbo.

  • @justinsmith2958

    @justinsmith2958

    6 жыл бұрын

    Actually that is something we should have mentioned in the video. The cab is warmer than other UTV's. But, I am confident it is the center console where 80% of the heat is coming from. In my XP Turbo I could almost burn my right calf on the center console when I wore shorts from the heat running through it coming from the radiator and cooling lines. I put insulation on the fire wall and center console and 50% of the heat was gone. Eventually I mounted the radiator behind the cab for racing and literally all the heat was gone in the car. We will be putting some insulation in the center console of this Wildcat and see how that helps. Let you know when we do.

    Garbage is a little harsh...I own the other brands and I can tell you their is real garbage out there! Yamaha engine, TEAM clutching, trans, and front diff, great suspension, (may need spme tweaking), oversized wheel bearings, massive heim joint front end, no little puny ball joints, massive control arms, and extremely well built and strong roll cage, great doors, pre-wired for accessories, etc etc. you really need to look at all the things they come up with. all the brand names have had their problems. some are still having problems after 10 years of building these things no names mentioned. I think this is a great machine with a few items that need to be tweaked but come on not bad for the first machine. can't really say that about the competition. Lord knows they've had their handful of trash and problems and fires and massive recalls. can't judge the book by its cover as they say you got to look at every page just my opinion

    70GTODAN one of the best responses to the bashing of the XX! People come on our channel dogging the XX all the time but I keep beatin the hell out of mine & it keeps hammering on. I will definitely consider this shock therapy for it once they resolve the bottoming out issue but that’s my only real complaint so far. Hard to keep great build quality light weight and inexpensive! Look at the size of the front and rear control arms!! They're HUGE!! The tires and wheels are larger too. More metal in the roll cage and STRONG!! Higher quality and strength cost a little more. No problem for me. Bought a cheap 2012 Polaris RZR XP 900 and the damn thing fell apart at 10 hours!! Thank God they have beefed up a few things on the newer polaris machines. Compare apples to apples not apples to bananas. LOL
