Hey man, really enjoy your content and find it helpful+useful+entertaining. Pretty new to modding and finally got an AP for my WRX (since warranty ends this OCT 21' -- still watching this video 2 years later) and wondering how long you were driving around with the AEM intake with Cobb shelf map? I recently bought an AEM and Grimmspeed J-pipe. I don't push my wrx to it's limits, more so casual and commute driving sometimes spirited driving. Any advice on this? Considering getting a Dyno tune as well. Thanks and hope all is well!

What kind of dyno was that? I got 286hp on dyno with tgr/egv delete catless dp intake and ebcs with dyno tune on winter tires and stock wheels.. on summers wheels I’d be around 300-305 or so

Well every state in certain areas at least has has emisson laws but Cali now has actual limits on exhaust loudness. Which maybe straying him away from a downpipe. Yolo

How much TQ??? For basically 91 octane in horrible California weather 250awhp with just a poop AEM intake is actually very good. If you had 93 octane im sure you'll make the same amount as the FBO STI you were talking about in the video. Nice job man, cant wait for pulls 🤔👌🙏

Where I live in Florida we have 93 and a guy my town has a stage 1 ma performance reflash off-the-shelf tune, a Cat-Back and intake and with his tune he was putting down to 272 to the wheels and that was without a j pipe. Pretty impressive

Ya it really is haha. But I am chilling on it so I don't run into any hiccups or engine failures.

Dont compare the STi to your WRX, they run on different engine platforms. EJ vs FA . Yea the guy before you may have gotten 268whp with bolt ons youre not even 100% sure he has, it sounds like he just went simple stage 2 with the cold air intake and a downpipe. The FA engines actually can push out some nice numbers since i believe they run on a lower compression ratio, so they can take higher stock boost levels to get some nice power. But remember youre still operating a ticking time bomb, I would stick to what you have unless you want to grenade your engine, FA engines are soo fragile.

Lol the ej engines are way more fragile. Ringland failure, headgasket issues, they tend to leak oil from everywhere overtime and they have timing belts that need to be serviced. The Fa20 has proven to be reliable until 350whp

@@jazzblaster pro race teams tear apart the engine after every race to replace engine components. I do agree that a lot of them probably do blow up because of incorrect mods installed or not having a proper tune
