    These press conferences go on for almost an hour. We saw a small edited version. There’s no reason why Lewis should be paying 100% attention to a question that’s not relevant to him.

    This press conference is hilarious! First those sunglasses, then those advices to Charles and Hamilton-Vettel relationship. That's what I also like in this sport. The community isn't so big like in many other sports and drivers are all so close together and know each other on personal level. Hope we fans and all the teams have a great weekend in general but also the interesting race!

    Youtubax Well, it's his first season this year so you should give him some more time. :) But I wasn't thinking about him. In WTF1 interview with Nico Hulkenberg, he said that he frequently plays tennis with Kvyat and Ricciardo. He is also a friend of Rosberg and neighbor with Max. Actually most of them do live near each other in Monaco so yeah... Not all of them are best friends but most do know each other even from childhood or lower series in Motorsports. Cheers!

    As a pilot he's fantastic but in front of the media, oh boi... Whenever he's off track everything he says feels fake, hiding his personality behind pretty words. I think his "real" personality is really nice, you can find a few interviews (mostly before he was with merc, I don't know if it's a coincidence I'm too new to F1 to tell) where he seems like he's being himself (whenever he's really having fun basically) and he just sounds like a cool dude. Overall I just can't hate him he's achieved a lot and he seems genuinely nice whenever he's being himself and not a "celebrity". Also he's been around for some time and I think he learned that in front of the cameras it's better to be fake and "perfect" than being yourself and make mistakes.

    Nico Rosberg in his karting years was presented as a Monegasque even tho he had a German passport. Romain Grosjean chose to represent France. Before that, he was a Swiss citizen. In racing, it is easy to choose which country you want to represent. So, Hamilton's question was to know (I guess) if Charles was a "real" Monegasque.

  • @mgecko2959

    @mgecko2959

    They might appreciate each other but make no mistakes - they aint no friends. Wait for them to clash on the track and you will have Lewis talking how Vettel should be banned and how he can take him on outside the track. At the same time Vettel will be whining over radio like he doesn't have recollection of what he did 2 minutes earlier. Im Vettel's fan myself and I don't like Lewis personally, however I can appreciate his skill and greatness. But when he talks shit I just cant stand him and I can understand how some people cant stand Vettel when he acts simular way. Drivers love to look for excuses and have enormous egos, that's leading to them acting certain way sometimes and fans of course listen to them and agree with them. Other side of the story is that fans in F1 community are simply retarded, they cant have debate on who is better without hating, instead of advertising their favourite driver they prefer to discredit everything his rival done. When it comes to press conferences they have to spread it somehow, if they put Vettel, Hamilton, Ricciardo and Alonso on one presser then you will have second one with Ericsson, Hartley, Stroll and Grosjean on the other. Reporters usually have lots of questions for top drivers and one maybe two for bottom drivers so one conference would last 2 hours where other would be done after 2 minutes :D

    HirAjEm PMPL yeah I know they aren't friends but I think they have huge respect for each other and appreciate the other one. The shit talk about each other is because of politics I assume. But still they respect each other while the fan bases are fighting a war everywhere. Same goes for me. Vettel/Ferrari fan and I don't like some of Lewis behavior but same goes for Seb. I still have huge respect for Lewis and he seems to be a nice guy. I have no problem to criticize my favorite driver if I don't agree with him as well. Yeah of course it's not very good but remember the press conference last year in Abu Dhabi I think? Seb, Lewis, Dani. And it was damn hilarious

    He did not have the berst car. It wasn't as dominant as that Mercedes of 2014 onwards. Webber wasn't that bad, he wasn't old, or washed up. Vettel was just clearly superior over everyone. He coudl've scored on his own to get RedBull the Constructor's championship. No, he ain't close, he's leagues above them. Get real boy. Crash-Happen is pretty shit by the wya. Hamilton is overrated. Vettel was there all year in 2017, whilst Lewser-ton got wrecked by Bottas and was doing shit in Russia, Hunagry, Mexico, Brazil, Austria and Monaco.

    It is still a single mistake. It resulted in two other drivers being out of the race but at the same time it wasn't like he tried to make some stupid manoeuvre, he get out of shape and made mistake, wasn't on purpose. I prefer this kind of mistake than what Verstappen did to Vettel in China or to Ricciardo in Baku where he actually preferred to crash than to give up position.

    Rusty Hawk what are you even talking about? It wasn't about giving up position, he span - obviously he will lose position at this stage, he simply didn't engage the clutch and kept the throttle to avoid killing the engine.

  • @rustyhawk9711

    @rustyhawk9711

    6 жыл бұрын

    @HirAjEm PMPL he was off the track, spann back on it simply because he didnt want to lift the throttle and lose more positions, thats a idiotic move and way worse than verstappens move on vettel. Verstappen was faster and they were fighting for position, grosjean was offtrack to park the car infront of 10 cars again. Surely he wasnt thinking about keeping the engine alive, he was panicing. Where other drivers are fully concentrated and onpoint he cant stand the pressure.

    Grosjean is a fine driver, he just made a mistake twice. People are going after him for some reason like he did the most terrible thing ever, which is nonsense. Basically, people are acting like a bunch of jerks just because it's the easy thing to do against against someone who can't defend himself against them. What Grosjean said here is precisely what he should say and how it is. Btw, he certainly did apologize. www.thecheckeredflag.co.uk/2018/05/romain-grosjean-issues-apology-to-hulkenberg-and-gasly-for-barcelona-collision/ Stop making up stuff out of ease. Partially yes. But not 100%, he get out of shape because he had to avoid Magnussen, after that he made mistake but nobody cares he was on dirty side of the track and with heavy fuel load and cold tyres. So yeah people make too big deal of it. Don't get me wrong Romain is not among best F1 drivers but he isn't the worst. And all drivers usually have problem admitting they made mistake, Verstappen this year already blamed surge in power at Bahrain quali, then he blamed Lewis for their contact where he was one pushing Hamilton of the track and in Baku he never admitted his mistake either. The only time he took responsibility was in China and btw it was very first time he said he was at fault. But when Verstappen does that he has hundreds of fanboys protecting him because he is "fast" and "exciting" to watch. People have to make sure they mention how great he is before they can even criticize him and they still will be called haters. Grosjean doesn't have that luxury, people just hate and hate on him and when he actually drives good nobody says a word. Nobody who criticizes Grosjean is hater but anyone who dares criticize Max of course is a hater.

    Koowheel from current grid? What about the fact he delivered more points for Haas than Magnussen last season? If K-Mag would perform on simular level Haas could finish 6th instead of 8th. That's massive difference. I know this year it is looking like K-Mag is going to be the one carrying the team but if Haas bosses would follow your logic he would be out half way through last season already and wouldn't have a chance to score points this season at all. They can get rid of Romain now or wait and see, only time will tell, he might be their best driver again next year or even this year as well as he might be terrible for rest of his career. Simply replacing him doesn't guarantee his replacement will be better straight away, in fact might be worse for long time. Romain has experience, he is giving Haas something they don't have and I don't see any driver in F1 currently with as much experience as Romain that could be in Haas reach.

    HirAjEm PMPL it’s more the fact he’s been brought in to help with R&D for the team, as well as keep the third Ferrari seat warm, and if he’s giving any sort of input into R&D they’re obviously not listening to him because he’s making his own car “undriveable” for three seasons in a row. He’s rotten to the core as a driver and team mate.
