JD quick attach bucket is everything, but VERSATILE. JD does it on purpose, so you have to get their attachments. Their unique quick attach system RESTICTS YOU in using their stuff. I have a 3203, and I can tell you that my next tractor will have a skid steer system.

there are dozens of companies that make attachments that fit this system I have several that work great. also if you want to make a custom attachment you can buy the pins and hooks only at the dealer to make the attachments, I have done that as well

You can always go tot he skid-steer style hookup.

Brent, Nice review, but check your exhaust comment. The exhaust pipe is under the left side of the tractor. The only reason for the exhaust in the top of the hood is to exhaust the soot during re-gen as exhaust temps go to 1200 degrees during re-gen process... a safety feature to prevent potential fire if you do the re-gen on grass.. Great review. Just got my 4052R... got rid of a Kubota L3901. Love the comments below about how great Kubotas are compared to JD? Well... beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My Kubota struggled with hard work (even within ratings) and also had some really weird engineering aspects. (have to take off loader to pull radiator screens - real handy when bush hogging and they get gunked up every hour of cutting). Note.. I must add I find picking up a 5 gallon diesel container much easier in the back versus the center of the hood on the Kubota. Happy to be a JD user again. Great job on this review. And way to stay on the high road with some of the comments!

Speed Max is used to match another tractor who may be harvesting or offloading stuff to this tractor. I don't believe it's to be used as a nanny, but I guess it could be.

Well it is primarily used to make sure your tractor will only go up to a certain speed when you push the hydro pedal. I guess you could take it for what it is and use it however best suited.

Hi, just wondering if that cruise control function will remember a speed you choose so it will go to that speed whenever you hit the button? If that was the case it could possibly be an option as I've been told the power reverser doesn't come in a cab model. Ideally with the type of work we do, we need to be able to recall the same speed when working, which is why I'm a bit stuck on which model to get.

We currently run a 2 row, single bed, vacuum assisted green bean seeder. At the moment it is being driven by an old massey ferguson 148 as it doesn't require that much hosrepower. We would also use a loader and maybe a backhoe as we would find both quite useful.

As a former John Deere 4052R cab owner, I can confirm that the tractor does have a resume function!

The 4052 R cab with R-1 Tires, radio, air seat, rear work lights and wiper and economy pro option which allows the engine to operate the pro at 540 rpm at only 1700 rpm is the way to go. But the seat from the 5025 N tractor as it has the more durable fabric and adjustable backrest angle. Also available are a hydraulic down pressure kit for the 4 point hitch, a front three point hitch and pro and four tracks like an 8rx!

Load match is also perfect for rotary cutting.

I have a 3320 , like it, but the a/c is weak , dealer says the unit isn’t as big as the big tractors. My question is the 4 series a/c unit the same as 3 series or a normal size?

From looking in parts they show to be the same A/C compressor.

I’m looking for a tractor exactly like this to purchase next month . The kubota mx52, or Kioti NX5010, or DK5010, or one of these. The more I look at all the John Deere’s the more I’m completely unimpressed. What am I missing? And why is the PTO so weak on the Deere’s compared to the engine HP. Any help?

To answer your first question, I'm not sure what you're missing. What is unimpressive to you? Maybe I can shed some extra light on it. As far as the PTO HP ratings go, none of these tractors are tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab so it's hard to know their true PTO HP. John Deere is generally more reserved on their ratings if they are not tested in Nebraska.

I went by Heritage Tractor and looked at the 4052, 4044, and 5055. Im buying a 45pto tractor next month. I would love to buy a John Deere tractor but after looking at several other brands, options, build quality, cost, where it’s made, engine manufacturers, I also got a list of common parts I might need and had each dealerships parts department give me prices and availability for parts. For me and my situation the Deere costs nearly 12k dollars for just the tractor and loader out the door. Good tractors, great name, but value for my dollar is just not there.

How do you do cruise control on this tractor? Is it the top three buttons on the right console?

Looked at a brand new 4052r cab model today. The loader joystick is incredibly sloppy. Feels like a gearshift in an 70's model Ford cab over.

Hi maybe you could help me figure out my problem. I work often in a 2019 4066r and the radio have the Bluetooth but i can't figure out how to connect it To my phone. I you know how to connect it could you explain it To me thank

All radios are different on their pairing method for bluetooth. I would honestly search online for the radio that is in your tractor and see if you could find an operator manual that you could just read online and see what the instructions are. I know that isn't super helpful but like I said it all depends on what radio you have installed. I hope thsi helps. Thanks for watching!

Can't say for sure. I have not personally done any work in one of these tractors and there are now specs listed for towing capacity. Maybe at some point we can do a video to find out!

John Deere recommend 5 Ton max for pulling. You could probably get away with even more

Of course!

This is not a subcompact, just a compact. Or am I mistaken? The 4 series is biggest compact tractor before getting into the real utility tractors in the 5’s. At least that’s what I’ve always believed.

Yes, for the 4R cab tractor it would be a John Deere 485A backhoe!

I think they should come with the loader.

43500 was what I was quoted, I think it’s a pretty fair price , not including the extended warranty, only 1300 for 7 years 1000 hours, tractors loader and cab

I think you'd be surprised on how many people truly like the poly hoods!

Big easy to fill gas tank ''5 feet up in the air''. I guess it's okay if you have your own filling station at home, but in a pain in the A@@ if you use a 5 gallon container. Wayyyyyy too high for no reason.

The 5E tractors are made in India due to 75% of them stay there.... wouldn’t it make sense to have a plant there and only ship 25% out rather than the other way around?? Everything smaller than the 5E is made here in the United States.
