Harley rolled out a new lineup of bikes! People's reactions have been varied across the board. Some people love the new bikes, some hate em. Loads are upset the Dyna has seemingly been absorbed by the Softail line (that's another video entirely.)
If you end up purchasing a Harley because of one of my videos, let the dealership know 'Blockhead' was your referral! Harley says they'll donate to the channel if so!

Haha, awesome
That bike looks absolutely amazing. I don't see why everyone is hating, must just be older Harley fanboys. It hauls ass and looks like a classic bike at the same time, double win in my book.

I love mine
I think this Street Bob is like a Sportster with big engine and comfortable suspension ahaha, can't wait to try one
I've watched this video probably 5 times. Had my murdered out street bob delivered 2 days ago. 100% in love with it. You're right about that seat tho lol. Otherwise, one hell of a bike. Massive power, comfortable, looks great, handles like it's on rails!!! Of course, I had to roll the mini-apes forward as soon as I got it
Always love your reviews. Honest and straight forward no BS. As far as the Softail Street Bob the only think I am not a fan of is the Apple Watch sized display. I don't have the greatest eyes lol.
Great review as usual, sir! Been waiting for this bike to be reviewed by you (and the slim... and the DeLuxe... and...).
Another great video BLOCKHEAD!! Can't wait to do a test ride myself, I'll be looking forward to your thoughts on the '18 Slim!! Keep up the perfection my dude!!!
Traded my 2009 streetbob in for the 2018 this past September i love the new streetbob.
Bought one of these yesterday after having about 7 street bikes and a dirtbike. Came with some 12in apes (pretty sure it's 12) and Stage 1. Now I'll finish up the look and upgrade to 200 rear tire and shorty bobbed out rear fender. Can't wait! Got it up to 70mph on city streets during my test ride and jizzed a little. Different kind of fun than the street bikes I'm use to.
Checking this video out, because I'm thinking of picking up one used for my first bike. Instant subscriber.
great info blockhead! keep up the great work!
Brought home a 18 streetbob this weekend. As of right now I'm chomping at the bit for the after market to get exaust made for the the new softtails, and I'm still debating with myself over what to do with the handle bars, but I love the bike so far.
I love mine. It is a blast. The usb actually is a fast charging usb. Yes it is cramped, but you don't feel the heat of the engine unless you are stopped for a moment. It is bad ass as hell though. Zero to 60 in seconds. Seat is slippery but also the torque pulls you off the seat as much as anything.
Great vid. The first thing i noticed was the tank..I love the tank on my 09. But hey.. I'd buy another Bob any day...just my style of bike.
I just rode one of these yesterday at a demo days! It was a blast to ride! I'd love to have one as a second bike!
I keep looking at the Low Rider, love it so far.
I really like the new Street Bob, could very well think about it sitting next to my KTM.. I'd only change 4 things: gloss handlebar (instead of wrinkled one), different seat, different pipes and some fork-covers. Then it's close to perfect.
Pretty awesome review Blockhead! It looks like the clear winner of the new bunch is the FatBob 114. Hopefully we get something as cool as the FXDLS by this time next year though.
I just bought this bike I love it even thou its my first harley mad pull.
Hi BH, thanks for all your reviews on youtube! Any chance of test riding and reviewing the 2018 slim?
Mmmm that sound of engine, and such style! WOW i am totally smashed by it, awesome bike!
I still prefer the "old" look with the speedo on the tank like the 2016 the other guy was riding. Mine is a 2015. The new ones remind me of a sportster.
@BFD15i

Since the 1200 Sportster was one of the most entertaining rides I had on a Harley (even compared to my Low Rider S), I don't think it's a bad thing when the new Street Bob reminds you of a Sportster..
Do you know if they are any aftermarket LCD screen/gauge conversion kits out for the 2018 street bobs?
I feel the same about the seat, I'm wanting to get mine re wrapped in alcantara or sued.
Good review. For me the problem with the shorter frame bikes has been the seat , I always find myself naturally, as I ride, finding I am sitting farther back and my tail bone is taking all the pressure. A little taller and set back seat would be good, maybe a Police style solo. And as for the tank volume, would not a 2016 Street Bob larger tank still fit? And personally, I like the new headlight brightness and look. I've subscribed, don't know why I hadn't til now.
I love the looks of these
Love that straight black exhaust ...
I test rode the new 18 Street bob and low rider. Only bad thing with sb was slipping out of seat. Either way great bike, just wasn’t ready for that power coming from 500cc bike.
how would you compare this to the low rider s ? I'm liking both bikes and trying to get my first bike.
thought you would compare it to the 110 ci in your Lower rider S. so tell us. Which one felt faster?
I love the look of the street bob
Softail or Dyna, Street Bob is beautiful and rebellious lol
I had the option to get a basically brand new 2017 street bob 200mi or a brandy new 2018. The price was about the same for both but after test driving them both I decided to go with the Dyna, it won on looks and definitely feel. Something about the new street bob just didn't feel right to me.
@blockhead what’s that metal on metal clicking noise it makes when starting up, seems a lot of them new ones sound like that ?
Are forward controls available for these? I am not a fan of any sort of apes so with that in mind, how do you think it'd fare with drag bars and forward controls?
Laconia motorcycle week is coming this weekend here in NH, I currently have a 2017 R6, debating on switching it up and getting this or a Indian Scout bobber. Hopefully ill get out of drill in time to test ride this weekend. if not im also leaving for a few weeks on monday lol so ill miss all of bike week.
Gorgeous bike!
I have a 48,2020 I interesting to upgrade for a bigger motorcycle,I thought for the fat bob my none of my dealer close home has one,so I'm thinking to get street bob can u told me if its a good choice, I need a motorcycle that can handle two person easy and more power or should I keep mine 48
So is that it for the foot control position or can they still be moved forward?
I love the look of this bike
Sooooooooo, I just bought one. I swore to God I was going to get a Dyna because I want the Harley experience. I want the bike to shake at a stop light, I want it to make some noise. So, I went and tried it...and it still shakes at a stop light, just not enough to make your taint numb, it makes noise, but I'm still getting the VH Shorties put on. The handlebars are comfortable but I still like the RS square looking ones. One thing I like is that it is nimble. You can still split lanes, you can hold the balance at a changing stop light, I would even say you could do a 400km day trip comfortably with a seat change. As far as the refinement difference compared to other bikes, here in Spain they come standard with ABS by law, so I couldn't compare, but it seemed like a nice bike even though it's not a 100% true to Harley tradition model, but another thing it had going for it was it comes in Red Denim although I could have been just as happy with the olive gold. And yes...before I leave the dealership I will cut those fucking rubber motorbike boots off the forks and raise them in the air like a scalp.

What exhaust did the 2016 bob have on it? Sounded nice! Not too loud, but a good sound!
Man you got me really wanting the Street Bob.
Is it a good beginners bike for someone who has never ridden and about to do his msf course
the street bob is so awesome. wanna have one too

Lol will keep my Lowrider s till Harley-Davidson gets their shit together again.
After reading Harley's "10% faster 0-60" claims I'm very curious how this bike compares to the low rider s in terms of power and handling. Anyone know? Obviously the dyna has higher specs but is the difference actually noticeable?
Thanks for the review. I was looking at the Fatbob. This has made up my mind. I'm going to be getting an Indian Scout.

Street Bob has 74HP and 110 ft lbs of torque, The Scout has 100HP and 72 ft lbs of torque.
hey blockhead. have you reviewed the softail slim 2018 yet?
I wish they would have kept the Wide glide and the superglide, I wonder what those would have looked like on the new chasis
Would this be a decent first bike? I'm looking to get a cruiser or similar to that as my first bike.
Oliver Bermejo Hidalgo 15 hours ago Hello there. Would you do a review of the 2018 softail slim? I am thinking of buying one, the black denim, I am 6.2 tall, but I like to know what you think first as I haven’t been on a bike for the last 21 years (based on fear of accident as I had two in the past) thank you very much in advance. I really like your videos and reviews.
Nice review! Could you also do a 2018 Lowrider test ride please?
I really like your shoes, where did you get them and what brand are they?
That cop in the back like..ima follow him out its ticket time!

Now the street Bob sounds like a good size bike for someone like me small
Would there be a problem if the fork boots were removed? Awesome video as always dude !!!
Low rider next? Interested to see how you feel going from a Dyna version to the Softail version.
how about the 2018 low rider? do a comparison with your S model ))
some people are starting to call them DYNA-TAILS lol now over here but i think the new range is awesome
Definitely the bike I'm getting after I grow out my Iron. It looks like the Iron on steroids! Thanks for the video!
Curios to know what people are paying OTD for this bike... great video!
How did the fat Bob compare to a sporster heard sporsters are better?
I know its a solo seat, but are there passenger pegs on the bike? I highly doubt it, but I still want a answer until i actually check it out in the dealership
its funny that harley purposely made the tank smaller for the specific reason of being able to see the rocker boxes better because they worked hard on making them aesthetically pleasing. im not even kidding, harley said that in the official press release. but hey at least you have a beautiful engine to admire when your on the side of the road out of gas
Hell yea!!!
I never understand why so few people take the time to click like. So many views (53,000) yet less than 700 likes. Another great video though dude! Would love to see you test ride the Indian Scout Bobber. I know you rode the scout but the bobber is way cooler looking, and the bike I'm planning on getting.

Maybe because it's a completely useless feature.
What is that bike with the gold wheels in the background? 2016 Low Rider S? Whatever it is, I like it a lot more.

Mork the Tuba Biker it's a 2015 Street Bob. I believe it belongs to the guy from the dealership that rode with him.
No radiators = no liquid cooling. Touring models with lower fairings that house the radiators get that tho. Really good oil cooling tho. Great review man. Thanks and ride safe!
@joeyedmonds3658

Ryan's V-Twin Vlogs it is “technically” liquid cooled. Just not water cooled. The street line has water cooling also. But those are just glorified mopeds.
A good bike for a small person, but which Harley is good for a longer person like me?
What bike was the other guy riding?
Can't wait for you to ride the road glide
You should review the 2018 lowrider
Thx for this Video
it is amazing.... I m sure this bike is the best bike of world''''
What up Blockhead hey just wanted to say just in case you didn't know if you stage 4 kit a 107 it becomes a 114 the main diff-rents is the stroke its the same size bore so its a true 114 then or so ive been told by HD anyway that is all
Love that bike
What kind of helmet do you use? Jw
hey dude, would be amazing if you could do a test-ride on a street-glide or e-glide? would be really interesting to know, what you think of it :D Besides that i´ve never seen you ride something like that in your videos, so some new variety for your channel :D
Would you be willing/able to test ride some Indian Motorcycles?
I like how your surprised a 107 can chirp like that engine is nothing... It's freaking huge! My dad bought his Harley in 07 and the biggest was like 96....
i got a 2016 iron 883, am planning to upgrade to a 2018 streetbob, am only 5'6"...you think i can handle a streetbob? i love the fat bob, but i think its too heavy for me and more pricey
@BlockheadMoto
6 жыл бұрын
It's a very low bike, might be manageable for ya! Best bet is to go down and test ride one, that'll give you the best answer :)
Nice review )) how about new low rider? when should we expect the review? ))
That LCD speedometer is a real shortcoming of the bike. HD would be better to at the very least have taken the speedometer from the Iron 883 and put that in the LCD's place. Still better would be to have the Soft Tail Slim's speedometer as standard on this model since the engine is the same. Maybe even better, a choice of speedometers for the buyer.
How big the tank?
that intro track is dope af! who artist?? what song??
Is the speedometer from CASIO?
So my feelings on going to the dealer for a test ride are the same as yours, it’s the only way to cop a good feel. I will be test riding this week. I am curious on your opinion on how the new soft tail suspension compares to your low rider dyna though. You didn’t really say much on how it handles...I know it’s a completely different bike but, if you had to do a direct comparison between the two in regards to if the suspension feels better, similar or worse...How it leans into and out of turns, etc. What are your thoughts? I think the bike looks killer though, that All Black. Yessir. Would most likely drop the bars to a set a bit less “ape” And move to a forward foot control setup. Let me know about that handling thing though!
Showa did a great job on the new suspensions for 2018, and Porsche did an excellent job on the new Milwaukee 8 motors. Depending on the model, you get Brembo brakes or Chinese Brakes. The wiring harnesses are produced in Japan, Mexico and China so they promise to be pretty bullet proof unlike Ducati. The wheels are from Australia and look great. Other parts from Germany, India, Brazil and Southeast Asia seem to be getting better though production issues did cause delays. Also, keep in mind, Bobbers by their nature have minimal seats and aren't meant for long rides. Some custom Bobbers have sheet metal seats. I noticed a motorcycle officer in the background at the Dealership. I thought all Police Departments had stopped using Harley Davidsons due to their testing and resultant findings of the "Death Wobble". There are videos showing the actual Police testing and the bikes wobbling all over the place. Harley has faced several lawsuits. Perhaps the new design of the Softail frame, and the absorption of the Dyna line with the new frames addresses that issue.
@wtom1420

@Trenton Reid: Porsche designed the motor in conjunction with HD. The entire motor isn't made in Menomonee Falls. The pistons at the very least come from Austria. The majority of cast wheels come from Australia. The Street models are made in the Bawal, India "knockdown" plant and shipped here to be assembled for the US market. Some of the motor parts are produced here. Below is Paraphrased from some of my research: "Technically speaking, Harley-Davidson motorcycles sold in the United States are not actually made here, but assembled here. Harley contracts manufacturing of parts to plants located all over the world, including Germany, Italy, Taiwan, Japan, and Mexico. Those parts are then shipped to Harley factories here. And these are not just accessories, but components for engines, chassis, and wheels. Exactly what percentage of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle is American made, is not exactly known, as each model and model year is different. Back in 1929, Harley-Davidson contracted with a manufacturing plant in Hiroshina, Japan. Rikuo Internal Combustion Company produced actual Harley-Davidson models that carried the Harley-Davidson label, for use by Japanese military and police. Rikuo continued under contract until 1958. Harley-Davidson motorcycles are also made in Manaus, Brazil. The factory there opened in 1998 and continues to produce Harley models for the Brazilian market. In 2011, the company announced plans to open a factory in India to produce the new Street 500 & 750 models. Harley-Davidson has expressed interest in moving it's US-based factories overseas due to expensive employee costs. The recession of 2008 caused the company's value to drop by 43% in 2009. Harley's American rival, Polaris Industries, manufactures Indian and Victory motorcycles using an outside staffing service. Harley-Davidson is also seeing a shift in the overall motorcycle demographic. Riders are becoming younger. The baby-boomer market that Harley had relied on is going away. Younger riders tend to favor smaller motorcycles and place less importance on American-made products. So, where are Harley-Davidson motorcycles made? All over the world, actually. But those sold in America, are assembled here in the United States, using a lot of foreign made parts. At least for now, anyway." Harley's newest plant in Thailand is expected to begin production in 2018. My research may be a little dated. Perhaps HD is manufacturing more than anticipated in the NorthEast, but the fact remains that the majority of the parts to complete a unit is manufactured elsewhere. HD cannot claim "Made in the USA" because of it. Both of my past Harleys weren't reliable, leaked profusely, and ruined my experience of being an owner. I'm happy to see HD take strides into the 20th century and even the 21st century. Their bikes are more reliable, but the cost/value isn't there. They need to improve the design and implementation of their products, and realistically, it can't be done solely in the US. If HD were to continue to completely manufacture and assemble here, a Sportster would cost $50K. I was pleasantly surprised with the new Milwaukee 8 107, and the new Showa suspension on a Road King test drive. However, the salesman sharpening his pencil down to $23K was ridiculous. I could almost buy a house in the mid-West or (2) 3 year old F-150's for that amount of money. One of my friends has been a loyal HD rider for over 30 years. Recently, he decided to move his bike up to his weekend house. Servicing before the move cost nearly $2,200.00. He decided at the same time to service his wife's Dyna since she doesn't ride it anymore, and he'll ride it around town. That service bill was nearly $1,200.00. He said no more. He's done with Harley, going to sell his and buy an Indian.
Just bought a 2019 FXBB. Can’t wait to hit those Texas roads! FLMM 2019 watch out, here I come. Bike purchase heavily influenced by @Blockhead
