I'd like to see what it actually gives you over stock. $1500 is a pretty steep price for what you get. For $1300 you get a lot more on the 3rd gens than the updated 4th gens. I think putting money into the trans, rear diff is better spent. I could be wrong though.

I am planning on using this very same intercooler and banks intake on my 4th gen. Thanks for the discount. Banks is the best there is from a quality standpoint. There is a reason their products are the ONLY aftermarket company being used by the military. You'll never see pusher, GDP, or anyone else on Gov't gear.

Greg,does painting the inter cooler decrease heat dissipation ability due to covering up the surfaces of all those radiator fins with the coating of paint thus adding another layer(outer skin if you will) and increasing the thickness of those fins.Thin metal would seem to cool better (i.e. tin foil vs a coated frying pan in principle)...

Yes!

People love hating on Banks, but without them we wouldn’t have the diesel performance that we have now. In fact, Banks was heavily involved is many different OEM turbo programs, including gas engines. They also use and abuse their own products. Gale Banks is also a super nice dude.

James Bodie couldn't have said it better then me 😎 I love the products that Banks makes wether it's for diesel for gas. The Exhaust kits, water/methanol injection kits and Chevy small block turbo kits are my favorite products from them 🤘🏻

Banks definitely has it on air flow. They are the top of the line!! Absolutely!!

An intercooler is meant to flow air and cool it and you go and paint it, reducing its cooling ability right from the start...

The early 4th gen trucks 2010-2012 had a larger intercooler mounted in front of the radiator like the 3rd gens. They went to the crappy low mount intercooler in 2013

Happy with the Banks 25980 Intercooler with monster ram on the 2005 Ram. Blew up the original plastic ended intercooler at 40 psi.

Im liking the dually more and more. Makes me want to get one to just tow for no reason lol

Painted black I bet you could pass CA Smog no problem. It's only $1,400 and I bet it does help lower EGT's and help with turbo spool. I'd want it just to get rid of the kink in the factory boost tube.

I have to agree with Greg A here...Banks proved their inline Derringer Tuner for the L5P is the top performer. They bought all of the other available modules and dyno tested each one. I put the burden of proof back on those lesser modules to prove Banks wrong...not going to happen.

Monster RAM, my point was this...these other companies claim what kind of numbers they get from their L5P module. Banks proved them as liars. It's up to them to contradict Banks. I don't think they can do it. Banks already proved their claim of the Derringer's superiority.

Looks amazing but in my opinion I like the way it looks without the little spoiler or whatever on the bottom

I’m already a believer in Banks no need to sell me. I just fast forward past the rambling, that is a really nice dually. I looked at the same truck this week, at $82K I left it at the dealership and bought the 2020 tradesman with 6.7 High output. I’ve got 300 miles on it and I’m ready to replace the stock intercooler with a Banks intercooler and pipes.

Just ordered a cheetah vgt, banks air, this intercooler, just got a stage 4 trans installed, arp 625 head studs, steed speed manifold, 410 gears.... the one thing that is killing me is the codes for my tailights.... I think it’s causing other computer/windshield whipper issues... I have a 14 Laramie, I have spider tailights... can you please help with new led tailights that won’t throw codes? Also looking at throttle valve delete and grid heater delete to a throttle valve with a heater and then banks air horn.. thoughts?

Keep it up, I’m building my 2018 black Sport 3500 as well and I appreciate your insight. Question: when you mounted your aftermarket wheels/tires, did you have any issue getting all 6 tires balanced? I’m running 35x12.50R22 on XD wheels and nobody seems to be able to put weights on my rear inner wheels. I’ve put 16oz of balance beads in them and am running Centramatics on both axles, helps a lot but still have some vibration around 75 MPH and on up.

mishimoto in my 12 it's three times the the size of that new Banks one on the dually.

Should do a before and after of a dyno of the truck with the stock part vs the aftermarket part to see how much hp and torq you gain off each individual mod

Hate to be the one to say it but the paint on the fins of your new intercooler is gonna lower the efficiency of it since the paint will act like an insulator across the actual part that is the heat exchanger

Preston Wolff it increases surface area slightly which would increase the capability of heat exchange across the surface but the material matters and if you add a non porous material on top of a metal it acts as an insulator and descreases the delta T across the surface thus reduces the efficiency of the cooler because the metal fins would hold heat and be shielded from the atmospheric air that cools it

TrollMaster300 pretty sure it's a 24v intake horn. Which easily flows enough for 6-700hp
