This car is freakin' GORGEOUS!!!

That actually makes me want a convertible. And I really like the subtle silver... nice balance. But a Corvette is the raw brutal car that I'd rather have with a manual transmission.

In my opinion the corvette looks better than a porche it looks incredible

Alfredo Martinez Are you kidding? Have you seen a similar year 911 in person? Beautiful cars that exude class and style. I'll admit the c7 is the best looking vette yet, and the only one I would ever consider maybe buying pre-owned and thrashing it for a year or two. But it looks gimmicky next to a Porsche.

Are you kidding me? The silver paint looks amazing, it shows all the beautiful lines and curves in the car and make the carbon fiber really jump out. Can't wait to see the mid engine version, it will be Americas second mid engine car ever made.

2017 Grand Sport absolutely has an automatic lock function in the settings. Mine locks 10 seconds after you close the door. Either yours wasn't turned on in the settings or they eliminated it for 2018.

Yes you are correct I also have the 2017 model an as far as i know this is a standard feature on all C7 corvettes. If the reviewer had simply gone thru the menu it is a VERY simple thing to set DUH .

That corvette is gorgeous!

At 20:31 when it goes between 3K-4K it sounds a tad bit reminiscent of the LFA note around the same RPM range. Sounds absolutely heavenly!

Nice job, a very good review in depth.

Great and honest video. I would definitely get a bit nagged by that rattle. I tried to fix the weatherstrip on my Z06 and got so "into it", I ended up cracking a body panel. You really have to do as one salesman once told me, "crank up the radio, stomp the gas, and enjoy the car", or microscopic flaws about the Corvette will make you insane. If you have to have every body panel perfect, buy a Mercedes or Cadillac. They have that stuff nailed.

Correction for you (4:02)...Grand Sport has magnetic ride control standard on ALL Grand Sport models. With the Z07 performance package upgrade, you get re-calibrated (stiffer) mag ride settings. But non-Z07 GS cars still get the mag ride, standard.

I still find the Grand sport fascinating , still one of my favorite to have on the track , plus now with the new PS100 stat wing by victor racing bet it performs even better

I have a Black 2017 G.S. -Best Corvette I owned in past 18 years

I love dodge vipers more....but damn....this year's Camaro and corvette are pretty damn nice.

Love it!

A secondary cat delete, ported throttle body, and a tune already puts my GS at 500hp. The tune made a huge difference alone. These cars are really dialed down from the factory. Hell, Power Enrichment doesn't kick in til 5000rpm and 77% throttle from factory. Now imagine PE kicking in at 2000rpm, 0% throttle, increased pedal sensitivity, and torque limit settings removed after a tune is done. Pretty much have full power on tap. My car is no longer 'street friendly'. Probably why GM had a mild tune on the car. The only thing keeping me somewhat disciplined is the cost of rear tires and fuel. 😆

it does have the walk away auto lock. You have to set it up in the settings section in the infotainment screen under settings.

Thanks for reviewing the GS with the auto. I've been debating getting it over the manual, and no one seems to review the auto.

I was in Disney and ton test track at the end they have all the chevys and they have a decked out corvette stingray all the interior upgrades red exterior it was beautiful and I’m jealous even though my family has a model x it’s so nice also i like the aluminum colored paddle shifters, i think that’s an option

Did I hear you correctly? Sounded like you said magnetic ride was an option. Was that changed, because for 2017 all Grand Sports have it.

Betting it has passive locking which needs owner programming. My 2016 Stingray 2 LT does.

I am so lucky to have a LS block, I'm only 16 have a $55k 2008 1500 ext cab Sierra Denali with the 5.3L engine, it will tow a 5th wheel and do 0-60 in 5.8, I have a performance tune and bolt on's, I probably make 330hp and 350 torque in a pretty light truck, it will EASILY spin it's tires and may be dangerous slightly w/o stability/traction, as while turning hard at 30mph, if you gun it the back WILL kick out badly, but it is surprisingly easy to control, and my custom performance exhaust makes it sound AMAZING! I have put it into a ditch while trying to do a corner drift while stopped, i hit it maybe 75% throttle, it lit the tires up and then it rotated into a ditch, slammed against the bumper, NO DAMAGE AT ALL, Chevy's are built tough alright, and it is SO EASY to drift!

6:09. Not accurate. The vette does have a walk away lock option. It must be selected in the options menu of the vehicle.

If you are inside and the key is with you and it is locked... If someone touches the pressure pad from the outside, will it still unlock?

Magnetic selective ride control is standard on all Grand Sport models. You can tell you have it in PTM.

He also got the passive door unlocking & locking wrong. You just have to make sure that the passive feature is turned on first in the settings. Vettes have had passive locking/unlocking at least since the late model C4s from the early to mid-nineties. No need to press FOB buttons.

He's crazy as hell that silver is the shit.

My 2014 Stingray has walk away automatic locking. I'd be surprised if they took it away.

I heard you can hold down the left paddle to auto shift to the lowest allowable gear in manual mode instead of having to quickly flip down through them all to get there

Absolutely beautiful convertible. And an extraordinary value and educated purchase.

It's only 1.5" wider on each side and I don't think you can tell from the driver's seat.

$94k without the ZO6's - 650HP motor - tough sell. I've seen ZO6's sticker lower than a Grand Sport. You can get a Vette discounted like few other nice sports cars toward the middle and end of the year. Perhaps a base Vette Z51 - 2LT - swap a cam with some head work and you're driving a very fast and manageable car with no hit to the Insurance like a ZO6 could. May be able to tighten up the shifts with a performance tune. Overall very good review!
