The audio in this video was recorded with in-ear binaural microphones. If you wear headphones, your mind won't be blown, but it will go, "woah."
I'm also the producer for the Winding Road KZread Channel:
/ windingroadmagazine
Here on TheTopher, I'm known for putting a camera on my face and driving cars. Whether it's about any of my personal cars or reviews on weekly test vehicles, the goal is to give you an idea of what a certain car is like to drive or live with. Most of my videos are filmed in POV, with my clothes on, and (for like the 5th time) with in-ear binaural audio. Which, if I haven't made it clear yet, is why you should wear headphones. Because of the whole "woah" factor. It's there, trust me. Try it, you'll see! Or don't. As long as you whitelist me on your adblocker I'm okay with whatever you do or don't do with regards to headphone usage. That is all. Oh and I guess you should also probably subscribe. Why are you still reading this, you should be watching the video. With headphones! Hah, had to sneak that in there one more time. Later!

@@cruisertechgt Same priced Stinger? Have you looked at the difference in price? I have at both dealerships. Stinger best deal is $10K higher than the GS. Drove them both and they're very similar in performance. The Kia wasn't nearly as quiet or comfortable. The sport seats in the GS are wonderful. And then there's the Kia catching on fire for no reason! The closest Kia dealership is an hour from me. The Buick dealership is 10 minutes.

Jerry Gilliland might depend where u live but where I live the stinger is cheaper vs similar spec GS. I would be second looking a GS if it had paddle shifters. Was driving my XF today and was having fun with the paddles but my XF has a v8 and I like the sounds which is also why I like using the paddles to hear the engine

This car feels a lot like the Acura TLX A-spec SH-AWD - but almost better in every way. The GS sport package grants similar performance upgrades (plus the V6 over the 2.0T) like the A-spec. The V6 has 20hp advantage, it also has a torque-vectoring AWD system, similar 9spd gearbox but the interior is definitely a step up in infotainment system & design. Buick has made a really compelling sport sedan for price that undercuts the Germans & Japanese. Well done GM.

Having a 2019 GS myself I absolutely love it!!! I served in the Air Force and spent 10 years in West Germany; I have driven BMW,s, Merc's (to include a friends AMG Model and a Porche 911 on the Autobahn) and the Regal GS is right there with them in quality and performance. Does it handle exactly like the Bimmer? No, but it is very close! Does it have the supreme build quality of a MB? No, but it is very, very close! It is not on the same league as a Porsche as far as pure speed goes, but I'm driving on US Interstates, not the Autobahn. The GS is a Gernan engineered best kept secret and I wouldn't trade it for any Bimmer or Merc sedan. Porche, that's a different story Lol!

I remember all the way back to 1998 when I bought a brand new LeSabre Limited with the Gran Touring package. It was so amazing. Shiny white paint, it had every option, and outstanding comfort. I even special ordered it. That 3800 Series II engine sounded AWESOME! Man I loved pulling that thing up an on ramp and it did it no questions asked everytime. This Regal GS literally brought me back to those days. Hard, quick pulls, amazing comfort, and great styling (I thought Sabres looked cool, not grandma-ish). I will definitely be looking at one of these.

Almost nobody has done a review (again other than the launch event) and those who hate on them have rarely driven them. The TourX is a screaming deal right now based on discounts. I'd love to see you turn your critical eye and ear to one.

We have that in Australia too, just bought one. Called a Holden commodore, bought one and pick up next week. Bought the RS V6 AWD version. 6 trim levels to choose lol. The one you have is known in Australia As the VXR top model. Btw out of all the trims we have a button to turn off Stop/Start. Strange u don’t have it in the states. That V6 was designed in Australia too, came out the model of our VF generation which is known to you guys as the Chevy SS which we had too with the 6.2 V8, shame they don’t give this a V8 too. This V6 Started at 210kw and now is 235kw in this current Model. Not amazing but nice amount of power they squeezed out of it. Love this car and it does pull very hard. 👌🏾

You can’t do that with the paddles. 3) Very limited engine braking when you manually downshift. Just use the brakes and it’ll down shift itself to take off again.

Thanks for the drive. This Buick has some silly omissions for this class. No built-in Homelink? I have to clip my garage door opener to the visor? No power open/close liftgate? No interior color customizations? The base Regals have unterior color options... why not the GS? Sunroof is kind of chintzy in size in this day of Panoramic sunroofs. And summer tires need to be an option, because I heard tire squeal as you took that highway exit hard. I haven't heard tire squeal in an exit in a long time on a performance oriented vehicle. All said, the Regal GS does represent a good value, and Buick does consistently land at the top of various consumer report ratings.

To be honest, both Buick and Kia have been scoring really high in the latest reliability surveys, among the top 10 more reliable brands each year. Just buy what your heart desires. Both cars should be pretty bulletproof for this class. Much more reliable and easier to maintain than some of the German brands, except Porsche, but that's extremely expensive.

The curb weight is actually less, GM is slowly revising the numbers on their website. It should come in around 3950-ish based on the other trim revisions.

Kevin Heckeler it should be even less than that. The previous gen Regal was about 3990 in AWD GS trim. Despite the V6, the new generation of Regal has shed some weight. I think curb weight will be closer to 3700

You can defeat the auto-stop by putting the gearshift into L and using the + button to select L9. It will shift normally like you're in D (the gear you select in L is the highest gear the trans will shift into.)

It's so weird because I always benchmark the 50,000 price range using the STI as the benchmark. For example, ask yourself when making a purchasing decision for a sedan, "Would I rather have car "X" or an STI for the same price?" almost every time I shake my head and say "of course I would rather have an STI (as a great everyday car)" But honestly, I would take the regal GS over an STI I think. You get identical engine output (kind of. I know the STI would still beat it), you get way more trunk space (which is what you need in a sedan) and you get comfort driving modes for longer trips, which is huge for sedan owners. Seriously a great car. Kind of wish it was closer to 40,000 but I understand why it isn't.

If you have the money you could supercharge this but I imagine the ECU tuning would be a bear . I don't there is a ton of aftermarket support so there would be no kit for this car .You would have to find a high end speed shop that knows it's stuff and has a good reputation.

Yeshua Man It's a fantastic engine! It is also the base Camaro engine, so there is a stout aftermarket for hop-up parts. My Impala has the previous version (the LFX, versus the '18 Buick's LGX) and I can tell you firsthand it truly puts the old 3800's to shame.

The only downside that I can think of with this car is how the engine turns itself off when you stop and on when you let off the break. That can't be good for the engine. If someone could explain why GM decided to implement such a feature, I would love to know. Seems like a bad idea to me.

While in the US you get the GS with a V6, we don't get that anymore here in Europe, for some reason or another. Instead we get the GSi with a 207bhp turbo 2.0L 4 cylinder diesel or a 255bhp turbo 2.0L 4 cylinder petrol. In Europe , the GSi is going to replace the flagship Insignia VXR. At the moment, there are no plans by GM/Opel/Vauxhall to produce the hardcore go faster VXR Insignia like with the previous generation Insignia VXR and Vectra VXR. With all these emission demands all around everywhere, the VXR model has been scraped in this current Insignia lineup in favour of downsizing. Sad times. I really loved the turbocharged 2.8L 321bhp V6 Insignia VXR.

Dreamer Believer There is no manual gearbox option available for the GSi at this moment. There is no talk of one in the near future either. We will just have to wait and see. The only gearbox available for the GSi is a new 8 Speed Automatic that comes with paddle shifters for manual override. The car also comes standard with the GKN Twinster Torque Vectoring AWD System.
