The only reason why it looks like it's "aged really well" is because nothing's changed. If your grandma looked the same from the 1970s up until 2018, I'd say she "aged very well".

This is similar too the late 90's early 2000's styling as far as interiors go. The entire lineup needs refreshing.

There was a time when BMW swore it would never resort to using a turbo in one of its cars.

As a bmw driver, i'm grateful for that. The thing i want to do least is to try to find where every button is. I care about the driving experience. The layout of m3 is similar, but many details are different.

Updated nav, updated i-drive, updated dash, new interior materials, suspension and steering improvements, an entirely new engine, new headlights and tail-lights, and additional safety features. all of these were gradually added since 2012. But yeah basically nothing right

ryan robson that's all well and good but if you look at a 2012 mbz compared to a 2018 c class it's a world of difference. I'd find it hard for a person to say I'll take a brand new one opposed to saying I'll take a 2014 due to all the non noticeable changes you listed ...just saying

I love mine with one exception: horrible low quality design of inside door handles. They are embarrassingly creaking and skewing. Center console is no better if touched.

The steering wheel looks small I like it. Also what's the difference between 328d 320i 330i 340i and 330e performance? There's so many it's overwhelming lol

328d is diesel 320-330 have the same engine but different internals, 320 being slowest 330 being fastest. 335-340 are 6 cylinders. Same engine different inter and etc.

Sorry but this is not BMW's smallest sedan at all. Think about the 1 series and the 2 series. By the way it is also misleading to call this car a luxury compact car. Nothing is compact about this car. Remember: This car is as big as the 1996-2003 BMW fife series (E39) was! It's high time to call the F30 3 series an upper middle class sports sedan.

It's not just the reputation, there is a fairly significant difference in the build quality and feel of materials between the two vehicles. Not saying that the Elantra feels cheap but you can feel the difference for sure. Plus if you don't care for blind spot detection like me and rely more on yourself instead for the safety technologies it honestly won't matter and you can also pick up a 3 Series for the same price as the Elantra with it only being 2 years old.

@@jamesharris184 I'm stil driving it. No issues so far. I admit, bmw is a nice car to drive, but I really don't care much about acceleration or comfort as much. I just want a car to get me from point A to point B in relative comfort and be reliable. So my priorities are different.

Golden Memes I’m going to do the 335i Beamer, if I could afford the high end M3 or Quadrifoglio I’d go for the Alfa. Performance over infotainment but if you can’t afford the high end performance might as well go for the idrive and the better reliability of the bmw name over Alfa.

Depends. I think he means the way the car is considered. Powerful, symbolic, status, modern and also popular for a particular group of people. I know all i said is also includes Tesla, but bimmers have been this way for a very long time and people will think of BMW whenever "ultimate driving machine"-discussion is brought up, the same as the "ultimate phone" which most of us will think of the iPhone, which is true btw

Agreed! I've bought quite a few used Mercedes and BMWs - I owned a 2008 335i convertible that I got for 25K, a 2012 X3 for 35K and a 2015 Mercedes C300 for 23K! It's totally worth buying these cars off lease with low mileage after the drastic depreciation when they are 2-3 yrs old!

No No you are wrong about taking this car on long road trips, I own a(750 Li )and put it in the local BMW shop for some work and they give me one of these as a loaner, and my son and I took this little thing out for a 2.5 hour drive and this is the most uncomfortable BMW I have ever been in for a long road trip. great for short trips but not for long trips.

+hensems: It's all a matter of personal preference and perspective. BMW's are not like any other car. People drive BMWs for the driving experience, yet want something that is more refined, but yet has a sporty look and feel. Benz and Audi's appeal to people who are looking more for luxury; BMW's are about performance, #1.

Depends on the model. The non-facelift 3 Series is definitely better than the old A4 and W204. The LCI 3 Series is on the same lvl as the new A4 but definitely behind the W205. But in 2019 the G20 3 Series will change the interior.

Alex but when they do break it's sometimes cost prohibitive to fix them, I'm glad I have a 2010 Ford Focus because I know it's a simpler car and parts will be plentiful and cheap for the next few decades because they sold well When you buy luxury (BMW, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes, Infiniti, Lincoln, Genesis, Acura, Buick, Cadillac, Chrysler, GMC etc) parts will be far and few between because they don't sell as much as budget cars (Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Volkswagen etc) the dealer will charge you as they please for a part, watch Scotty Kilmer's video on it
