Say hello to the last month of the year with the last episode. The latest and last Camry before the next generation has been introduced for 2025 (sold in 2024).
Toyota goes all-in on turning around the Camry's image with the eighth-generation model, which takes on a much sportier vibe inside and out. As the third vehicle to adopt Toyota's emerging modular TNGA platform, the Camry handles much better thanks to a lower center of gravity, less weight, and a more rigid body. The Camry receives a new range of engines, including a more powerful entry-level 2.5-liter four.
For 2020, A Camry TRD sporty model was added with firmer suspension, racer-boy looks, but no power improvements from the 301 hp 3.5-liter V6 already available in XSE and XLE trims. The spoilers and added aero aren't just there for looks, as the EPA-estimated combined mileage is down 1 mpg from other V6 Camrys.
Toyota only makes small changes to the 2021 Camry lineup. The base L model is now gone, making the LE the cheapest Camry. The sedan's front end also gets revised styling and there's new paint colors as well as wheel designs. Inside, there's new tablet-like touchscreens that measure either 7.0 or 9.0 inches. The sporty XSE model is now available with the hybrid powertrain, and the luxurious XLE gets new leather upholstery.
And also one of the first Toyotas to debut new Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+. It consists of an updated Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, which now enhanced with intersection support and emergency steering assist, as well an updated Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, which now improved with Curve Speed Management.
