Just got my second R-Line in Urano grey with the light package. My first R-Line was in Fortanna Red. It's my second Urano color. My '12 CC was Urano. Love VW/Audi/Porsche grays

Great color choice! My CC was in light brown metallic, and with the '16 Golf R I went with limestone grey metallic. Our '15 passat is platinum gray metallic, and if the '17 R-line was available fully optioned/SEL, we'd be looking at trading up to a Urano R-line right now. A lot of the little details in the '17 R-line remind me of the inside of the '13 Golf R, color scheme, infotainment/surround bezel, steering wheel (they just removed the R logo on bottom, which is strange because it's R-line package anyway).

Best car review person by far.

I own an 04 Passat with the 1.8T engine w/191k miles.. And yes, that switch blade key is something I play with when I'm bored lmao

That color is freaking gorgeous 😍

The company I work for has a new Sportwagen with a similar radio and you overlooked one of the neatest things about it- it has a sensor between the radio knobs to detect your hand and it adds details to the icons when you get close. I was playing with it earlier this week and discovered that and thought it was a cool touch that keeps the screen cleaner looking when it isn't being used.

Same here in Finland, if you choose the R-line here, you get evrything, you can add some option, but almost anything come standard for around 56k euro

Volkswagens are very expensive. They are almost expensive as the Audis when you start adding the options. I hate that they use vinyl instead of real leather for the money that you spend.

Hey that's the same colour as my passat.for an R-line we should get push start and led headlights

Could you give an impression of how the radio and speakers sound?

I’m super torn between this car or a 2018 Hyundai Sonata, which one is better?

I don't understand why Volkswagen cut the horsepower on the 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbo engines down to 174 from 200. My 2008 Passat Kormfort has a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder turbo that puts out 200 horses. If I bough a newer Passat I would be giving up 30 horses but I'd be gaining technology.

Screw this, i rather get the sel trim on the passat with the 3.6 l v6

So glad i got a CC Executive R-Line over this. Passat doesn't have keyless access, push button start, leather, Bi-xenon, or rear heating/cooling vents, and no sunroof or navigation. Granted it does have App Connect. My CC has full leather seating, power seats, navigation, Rear heating vents, Bi-xenon headlights with LED DRL's. My Executive R-Line also has more of the driver assistance aids than the Passat, it adds to the front assist by adding lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

Do you know why the CC is $15,000 more? Cause it's built in Germany.. And you can't get the 2.0 TSI motor in the Passat.

My 2014 vw Passat after 4 times repair-changing oil separator and replace rear seal at Punte Hills VW .it still leaks and even call to vw usa and email to VW USA. They could not help. The car currently only 35000 miles even with 5 year warranty Powertrain warranty. I don't know what to do it with oil leaking. Reply

VW USA would not listen what I complain and believe what dealer said the leaking is OK although I did email those leaking oil picture to them. The day I drove to Puente Hills VW to complain my Passat. There were other 2016 or 2017 VW Jetta and Tigun with Warranty issues. No matter where VW assembled in USA, Mexico or German. The resell value of VW are worse than Hyundai or KIa. The price of New Passat were about $2500 higher than Sonata or Optima.

Hi Rohan - Volkswagen offers a package called the "Lighting Package" on most of its models that are not in the top trim level. Even with that added package, the Passat R-Line is still over $1,000 less than say a Honda Accord Sport. MSRP = $23,975.

19" wheels on a small car like this is probably the worst ride you could ever get. And of course, this reviewer does not mention the durability and cost of those ridiculous ghetto tires. This fad is the biggest rip-off put together by tire companies in the US the past decade.. Don't be a sucker, stick to 16 or 17's on a car this weight.

unijabass European Passat doesn’t look any better it’s same shit!!!!! Small difference inside. Outside this one looks even better 😁🇩🇪 European looks good only on high trim level. And I am European. Mazda 6 is the king!!!!
