I like both of these players. I started using Corey's break in nine ball. What a difference. Almost always make a ball and have shape afterwards.

the announcer said something like "$15,000 is a good payday". Are you kidding? The US Open? The winner should get $60,000 at least. So much money is put into the big sports that pool struggles to attract any real money. These athletes are superstars, and the US Open is hugely competitive and professional, hence it should pay alot more money, and deeper down into the leader board as well.

David I totally agree. Only people like Shane make a decent living. I live here in Las Vegas. My wife and I and my son and his wife went to the eight ball championships last Sunday. 7/22/2018. Met Shane Van Boening. And he signed my pool cue case. Very cool. A really nice guy. I met a lot of the people who I watch on these streams. Great experience. I'm not a youngster. But I am a pool junkie. LOL.

It's fun to watch and play, but I think pool is a game, not a sport, and that they're players, not athletes. I admit that breaking and running a rack may take as much practice as hitting a homerun, but seeing a homerun is a lot more exciting than a break and run, which is why people are willing to pay so much for baseball tickets.

Jacob Anderson I wholeheartedly disagree with your point of view. Pool is a cue sport. Not a game. If you look to the current computer games making millions on e-sports competitions you can see that games can make just as much money as so called “sports”.

David Buls YES! This is something i ALWAYS say! Its such a shame that these professionals put in countless hours, some even travel all over the place, and they try their best to perfect this sport. Such an extremely competitive field that requires immense skill. Yet, relatively speaking, they get paid shit. Its a god damn shame..

I know it goes by points, but I still wish Justin Bergman and Corey Duel were on the Mosconi team this year. I think we could use them to be honest.

Never ever concede a match with a couple of balls left no matter how easy you think the out is. Always make your opponent finish the rack.

Both Mika and Corey would have been excellent golfers if they had chosen that sport. The money there pays alot more money per capita and tournament.

At 2:46 you can be sure most amateurs (including myself) would hit bottom right and run up the rail towards the 4, rather than going across like Mika. But his was the right shot since it gave him an easy angle to stay on this side if the 5. Learn stuff all the time watching pool, which I then quickly forget while playing.

Mika is such a fucking shark man, Corey is shooting the ten to go 2-0 and the guy starts towelling his shaft, that is why Corey was clapping and Mika shoved him.

He's clapping because he got out even though he made mistakes. He was just joking around. Mika is a bit grumpy most of the time that I see him play though. Mika and Corey have played each other many many times. They know each other well. I don't think toweling your cue before you go up to break is sharking.

At 12:20 Mika is breaking and the camera angle is straight down the line to his cue and body. Check out his eyes as he practice strokes. Yipe! I'd hate to get this guy on his bad side and pissed off at me. And that's the truth.

So first place paid out 15K in '17 but in '19 only paid out 12.5K..... and people wonder why pool keeps dying. They were paying 20K in tournaments back in the 80s. This has gotten pretty damn sad.

Slow n steady wins the race. I dont care who they are every game you win puts that much more pressure on em. Some people hide it better but it's there. Oh its there. But Corey was playing his B game and Mika was playing his D- game. Mika just flat out wasnt here not to take anything from Corey. Corey wasnt all that either. It's like my old mentor use to tell me all the time.. you dont have to be the best in the world you just gotta be better or luckier than the person you're playing at that time. He wasnt the best by any means. I play better now than he ever did and I'm still getting better. But I'm 43. At this rate I'll be 80 b4 I'm world class. But I've put pool on the back burner my whole life. If you wanna play like these guys you gotta eat breath sleep and shit pool. Which I kinda have the last few years that's why my game has creeped on up to Amateur pro level. I dont play too shabby now at all. If only I played like this 20 years ago. Maybe I'd be somebody by now. I'm sure I'll have my 15 minutes b4 it's all said n done. Especially if my game keeps going up next 2 years like it did last 2 years. Most definitely.

  • @bjones72751

There's no forced spin... I suppose "English" correlates to wherever you hit on the cue ball. I think it's just one of those things that depend on where, geographically, you learn the game or maybe a generational thing.

Mika just isn't the dominant player he was a decade ago. His game has fallen off, which has ruined his confidence and attitude. It's a shame that a Hall of Fame player like him can't seem to rekindle his past skills.😢
