2017 MINI John Cooper Works Clubman Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Mini’s John Cooper Works (JCW) formula is well established, with every Mini so badged being treated to a thorough upgrade to its suspension, brakes, and engine for more performance. The next-most-powerful Clubman, the Cooper S, has the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but the JCW's is tuned to unleash 39 more horsepower and an additional 22 lb-ft of torque, for totals of 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. (That torque figure, by the way, is the highest among all JCW Minis; the Cooper hardtop and convertible variants offer “just” 236 lb-ft, and the discontinued JCW Countryman had only 192 lb-ft.) Mini also fits the JCW with a dual-mode sport exhaust for a throatier sound and an auxiliary radiator for additional engine cooling. Mini claims the JCW Clubman can accelerate to 60 mph in six seconds flat with either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional eight-speed automatic. It’s a believable figure, given that an automatic Cooper S Clubman we tested earlier this year reached 60 mph in 6.6 seconds.
