I think a cheaper option for just the first row to have real leather would be a great idea in larger family SUV if they could match the color/textures. Artificial leather would hold up a lot better and be easier to clean with the kids in the rear seats.

My favorite car

I think Leather as an option is preferable. I prefer my vehicles not in Leather. Leather is nice when you first own a vehicle, but degrade in quality over time unless you spend a lot maintaining it.

To add to this super old comment - looking at used examples on the market now - everything with the synthetic MB-Tex interior still looks new and great. Models that have leather are showing a lot of signs of serious wear. In fact, I have a 24 year old Mercedes with MB-Tex and the interior still looks great to this day. I'll take something with that kind of durability any day.

Had to take the Escalade over this because of the luggage space that really lacks when it comes to a big family. Make it the size of a full size escalade or suburban and you will have my $$$ in the future. Also this thing has the same ground clearance as a mini van.

I agree fake leather should not even be available on any vehicle starting north of $40,000. Especially a flagship vehicle!! This might be ok on the GLA or base GLC but that’s where it should stop.

Unfortunately LX570 has been holding on to the same old V8 engine for more than a decade. It is not only under powered, but also fuel guzzling. That power train truly belongs to the last century. Therefore, the key element of power train is no comparison to MB. Do your research. On the other hand, if reliability (and durability beyond 5 years) supersedes everything else, Lexus still performs better.

The MB-Tex is like BMW’s Dakota leather. Pretty plastic feeling. There is a real leather option, as well as diamond stitched leather
