I too have the same (2017 CX5) issue, which also started just last week. That's strange to see this orange light blink in my start button. I'm glad that you posted this. Thanks!! I will have to contact Mazda to see what the problem is. Just glad that I can still drive my car.

Had this exact same problem with my 2019 Mazda 3. The problem ended up being a faulty push to start button. The part was about 60 bucks in after it was replaced everything works fine. I hope this fixes your problem.

@@aderahmadabrianto1567 yes, it just flashes orange. I think to warn you the antenna inside the button is not good. But there are other antennas inside the car and is why it is able to work still. If it starts and drives, them don't worry. But if the flashing bothers you, change the button. It's not very expensive

Did your odometer lights all turn on when the start button wasn’t working? My car will start but not drive and all dash lights are on. Dealership said I only need a new button and programming.

I just had the same exact issue..disconnect the battery and leave it for 5 min then connect it and press lock and then unlock on your key fob..make sure the doors were already locked before you disconnect the battery..afterwards start your car and the problem should be fixed

Any update about this case? In my 2013 Mazda 6 with AT yesterday I got the same issue. I have also problems with AT shifter switch (part no KDY0-46-040) (as many other customers...), this little thing does not recognize P mode and I've heard that this can cause this problem. Here I read that the problem is only with button. Now I'm a little bit confused where the problem comes from...

On my 2014 CX5, I disconnected the negative for few seconds & problem fixed.

The same thing is happening to me

I had the same problem today... I just disconnected the negative terminal for about 5 min , connect it again and voila problem solved.

Where is the negative terminal?

Mine just started doing it even when driving. I stopped, turned it off and then restarted. No problem. Maybe key fob battery?

Same here, turn off and get out to lock my car and enter again to start and amber light flashing go away.. I hope this solve completely

My 2024 CX5 has similar problem, runs fine but won’t shut off the push button. It takes several tries on and off, putting on shift and so on before able to turn off completely. Already changed thob batteries twice. Any help?

@@StanWooGT I finally got it fixed at the dealership- it was the gear shift that wasn’t going to park properly and getting worse each time. It is fixed (replaced) now.

Hey so I had the same problem. So you have to turn off the car and once you’ve done that press down on the brake and when you do that there should be a green light on your gauges and the push to start light should turn green and once you see both green lights you push the start button and the orange light will go away

If you've already changed the battery in the key fob, then the problem is the Start/stop button.

My mother in-laws cx-3 had it happen right off the dealership lot.

I already solve the problem.. the first i bring to mazda and they said to change the new start button.. after change the new start button after 1 day the flashing on start button get the same problem.. and finally now the push start button is normal because they get some cable is broken...

I hope they did that cable labor for free ....or did they charge you again for labor ???

I'm still driving it the way it is, if anyone has this fixed, please do share with me how it what resolved. Unfortunately my car is out of warranty.

Unlocking the car with the remote has nothing to do with starting it. Have you tried changing the battery in the fob?

I have a 2013. Mazda cx5. And a red light keep flashing i release some persons colour flashing is different mine is red on the start botton it started this morning please can any one help me with this problem i an a woman donot know much please thanks. Anything i see i come to utube.

Update:i got the car checked by mazda ,they told me they fix it and took 45€.i got there to take my car and when i start it .. .same fking problem. And they have no ideea what.s the problem.

Sorry to hear about that. Here's something interesting. My mother in law just purchased a brand new 2019 CX3 and the start button is flashing the exact same way. She was told by the sales guy that sometimes new cars do this, and should go away. If it's still flashing after 3 days to back to the dealer. Well after a week the brand new CX3 is still flashing orange. So back it goes. I'll update you guys when I hear what it was.
