love the design. good interior. well done Lexus.

I had this car in the same color, but with the red interior & turbo 4. It was my first Lexus & was a great little car, but replaced it with a 2016 GS350 F-Sport just under two years later cause I needed to go back to a bigger car & for a few other reasons. I like the GS better as I've now owned it for three years so far & not planning on replacing it anytime soon, but really miss my IS in some ways.

One thing I am not sure I could get used to is the hump on the right side near the gas pedal. These seems to be my concern on long drives with the AWD models.

Love this car but when I went and test drove it last weekend I realized I can’t get it. The bolstering on the seats is too narrow for me. I’m 6’4” 195 so not at all overweight but I’m just too big to fit comfortably. The leg room is plentiful, headroom is great but damn that bolstering.

Great review, Car Confections!The exterior of the IS looks very sophisticated, yet still sport and aggressive. The interior on the other hand is nice, but I feel like it looks to plasticy, especially compared to some of it competition. Also, Lexus should have made the turn indicators in the rear amber LED lights, not halogens. Overall though, the Lexus isn't a bad buy in this very competitive segment. Keep up the great work, Car Confections! Also, I really like the new Channel Icon that you have! ;-) -DriveAndBeDriven "The Quest To Record The Best!"

They finally addressed that issue in the refreshed 2021 model. I had a 2017 IS200t F-Sport for almost two years & that was my only major flaw about the car. I got used to them, but they still annoyed me from time to time. Plus they were also too small. I replaced it with a 2016 GS350 F-Sport last year & the cupholders are much bigger & in a much better location.

Is F sport literally just an appearance package like Acura’s A-Spec?

No, and the 300 doesn’t have RWD. Only the 350 has both options.

You can get the IS 250, 300, or 350 in AWD but they all have v6 engines. The 200t is a turbo v4 but is only offered in RWD unfortunately.

Try the UX or NX, not exactly a sedan bit small crossovers with the 4 cyl

+duy tran It's just an effect caused by the cameras frame rate, so it doesn't actually happen in real life! But it would be pretty cool of it did!

I love BMWs but for the price, there's no BMW sedan better than this Lexus. Only an M3 4 door can beat it, but it's twice as much more money.

I would take the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport over this car any day!

Way to drop the ball Toyota you're going to put a backup camera standard on Corolla's but not on the Lexus IS models yeah pretty dumb! Seems to me Toyota / Lexus just want you to spend more money to get the good stuff in their vehicles like for instance the 10.1 inch touch screen the heated steering wheel The Back-up Camera and so on. Another reason why I like Nissan / Infiniti better than Toyota / Lexus most of this stuff is standard on the Infiniti / Nissan cars

Keep in mind this review was several years older. Backup cam became standard on the IS in 2018. It became standard on the Carolla for 2019.

@@rightwingsafetysquad9872 And your wrong 2014 is when Toyota started putting backcamera's in the corolla's / 2012 is when Lexus IS models starting coming with backup standard And Nissan/ infinite been doing that way before 2018 even Honda/ Acura been making that standard for a long time as well

@@andre26261095 A, the 2014 IS I test drove last week without backup cam would beg to differ. B, we were talking about standard equipment, it being an option on the 2014 Carolla is not particularly relevant. You're talking out of your ass and moving the goalpoast to cover for it. Also, who cares what Nissan/Infiniti comes with, they haven't made a good car in a decade, the only way I'd buy one is if it came with a Lexus.

2014 corolla's come standard with a back camera my cousin had one and it was not the S model!

What a disappointment! A premium luxury car is still using the out-dated foot pedal type parking brake for the refreshed 2017 model. Lexus should have provided all models with electronic parking brake as standard.

Electronic parking brake is the worst kind of parking brake. Hand brake > foot brake > electronic.
