I thought the exact same thing when I sat on the Honda CBR500R, went to try out the CB500F but the CBR500 was so much better!

I have had one myself now for over a year and it easily keeps up with the cbr600rr on country roads as this bike just loves to lean deep into the corners and is really forgiving.

Awesome looking bike dude.

I've looked at 300cc. class bikes and now have seen this one! I'm a new rider and have finally decided to go with Honda after looking at Kawasaki,Yamaha,and yes,...Harley Davidson. The CBR500R will make a great first bike that I won't grow out of within a year! Looked at Harley's Street 500,and decided against it. Going with Honda instead!

Dewey JacksYou won't go far wrong with a Honda there known for there durable engines and these CBR 500 are good looking Bikes as well so if you asked me I'd say you a made good choice. The 500r is fast enough to keep you excited for a few years as you say.So it's all down to you Brother, welcome to the biking community, Ride Safe and have fun

in half a year i will be able to upgrade my license and be able to buy a bigger motorcycle, same as you i wanted to go for R3/Ninja 300, but i asked someone who works all day with cars/motorcycles and he said if i had to choose i would go for 500R so i agreed with you

Orange black looks so sexy

They are cracking bikes, had one whilst I had my A2 license and I think they are the best “sports” bikes in that category. Now on to the 600RR!

I love the great pumpkin color in 2016-17

I'm torn between the "candy orange/black" or the "Honda red/black ". I prefer the red/black,though! I'm looking forward to getting my bike in a couple months,...looking at mid September! It will be here before you know it.

What is this obsession with a 500 being a first bike I've had everything from a 70 cc to a GTR 1400 and sports bikes too and to be honest they were mostly unusable because we live in a country with a max speed limit of 70 m.p.h ? The bike you were riding was smart , comfy affordable , nimble and well made ticks every box, the rest is bollocks ! but you have to own a lot of bikes and spend or waste a lot of money to come to this conclusion !

Thanks for owning alot of bikes and spending alot of wasted money to be at the conclusion for us that the cbr500r is a go to bike for beginners i'll definetly be taking the bike when i can.

Perhaps they don't realise most of the world's population get by with 125s.

Richard: What is all this "little"? A 500cc bike is quite big and quick for the streets of the UK especially compared to your average car.

Can someone please tell me where to get that exact design rim tape for this bike?

Any one know what they think the max hight for this bike is I'm a starter and I'm 6 foot ab 6"1 with my shoes on and I'm interested in the 2017 or 18 model

waiting for india ....

Is this instead of the 600 or are they still making that too

Yeah Zoe i think most manufacturers are stopping the 600 they about the same to make as te superbikes but sell for a lot less the new emission law might have something to do with it too
