I live in Arizona now, but I grew up in Westport, Connecticut near Compo Beach. Our family also vacationed in Five Islands, Maine. Despite hearing the cry of gulls many times, I never realized how like their cries these kittens' meows sounded until you pointed it out. This video is just too precious for words.

I love it when there is one unique kitten in a litter. I got my two cats from a litter of five, four orange tabby boys and a tortie.

Zachary Rollick black and orange pigment in cats is actually sex-linked: it’s carried on the X chromosome. The mother in that case was orange, and the father black. Female, tortie, got an “O” from mom and an “o” from dad. (Torties are O/o, as they have two X chromosomes.) Meanwhile, the boys got an “O” from mom and a Y chromosome from dad. (Male orange cats are O/-, as they only have one X chromosome.) Not coincidentally, this also explains why male calicos and tortoiseshells are so rare: those cats will be XXY (Kleinfelter cats), and they’re usually sterile.

@@gingerkittiesfour Another possibility (especially of litters this giant in size) is superfecundation. Unlike humans, cats require stimulation to produce an egg cell. When the female has sex with multiple males, multiple egg cells are produced. Found this out when my cat had three kittens, two were products of incest.

They are the cutest wee kitties.....just adorable!

This was in my recommended. Glad to see the algorithm is working for once. I hope all these babies found loving homes.

As a man I can say I love the little kittens more than puppies even though I love them all. A baby kitten came to my door after a bad storm, I named her Stormy. These are cute.

And now without you furry little rascals to provide us with a love that humans can never possibly know, we are struggling to make a sense of self belonging and the truth that we face is that we will never be able to have the same experience with humans as we had with you when you were here! We still cry about the night of Christmas eve and I came to see you but my dad told me you were no longer Alive, I couldn't bare it I fell into a hole that trapped me and my kids and now were in a constant search of belonging and humans fear us as you two brought us to our place of hope and serenity I hope that we meet again, greatest respects and wishes, love you guys!
