    How many engines does a McLaren-Honda need to finish a race? Three. One for the F1 car, one for the car for Alonso to flee the scene and one for the tow truck to carry the car across the line ...

    You may not know that, but "till the end of the race" is Japanese for "till the engine fails", that's why he said it like that.

    Hamilton before entering eau rouge let off the throttle just a touch, that allowed for Vettel to close up too quickly down the Kemmel straight, thus he had to pull out of the slipstream and alongside him,and the superior power of the Mercedes engine does the rest in securing Hamilton the lead

    It's not just Mclaren Honda though is it. Its leaving Mclaren when they had a championship winning car because he blackmailed the team costing them $100m all because they told him to earn his number 1 status. Its leaving Ferrari and burning bridges just as they were coming good leaving Vettel to enjoy what is the best car on the grid at the moment. So I would say if Alonso was a bit easier to work with and didn't have the patience that would make a toddler blush, he would probably be in a much better position than he is today.

  • @SufferingAddict88

    @Blazzz Mayne The Ferrari is not the best car right now as you can clearly see in the constructor championship. I suppose some aspects of the Ferrari are better, but the impact of the stronger Mercedes power unit is really significant.

    - Awesome start to the race. Everybody got away cleanly. Lots of slicing and dicing included. - The two Force India's make contact faster than ever... *They really don't like each other.* If they were in a top team this would be fantastic drama but its sad when they cost force India points - Another fantastic 3 way featuring McLaren, Renault and force India (shades of Australia) - More misery for Max verstappen... Getting a bit ridiculous now - More misery for Alonso and McLaren... Getting a bit ridiculous now - Kimi didn't seem to be able to keep up his form from Friday unfortunately - The consistency of the penalties still sucks. What Alonso did was punishable (I personally like that racing) but lighter things have been called yet he was allowed to carry on. - Jolyon Palmer has to be the unluckiest driver, along with Max. - The two force India's dangerously collide again... They really don't like each other. - *Daniel Ricciardo with some more safety car magic!* - Ferrari were pretty close on a track that doesn't necessarily suit them. Now Mercedes need an answer and fast. - Well managed race by Lewis and a good strategy by the team - Bottas was uncomfortable all weekend but he needs to be there to take points away from Ferrari (Vettel more specifically) - *Another sneaky podium by Ricciardo and did well to hold off Raikkonen/Bottas* - *Maybe the one flaw of these 2017 cars is their inability to follow each other closely.* Decent race.

    As Jeff Gordon say, the downforce is decreased when you slipstream. The 2017 car's speed is largely relied on downforce. So that's why.

    As a Ferrari fan I have to admit Lewis did a fantastic job that day. Btw I still remember the thrills when him and Seb passed through Eau Rouge flat out with no more than a couple of metres to separate each other, astonishing. Even the 3-men battle behind has been awesome, F1 needs more of this, even if it is on the good way in my opinion.

    Force India will never accept Pascal Wehrlein, they said so before the season started as they said he had a bad attitude. Mercedes kind of said the same reason, I actually think he's got a good attitude as so far, we haven't heard him be mean to anyone on the radio. He's only had "Yeah I wish I could get out of the car now" when he had that crash in Monaco and when he asked if he could pass Ericsson only for the team to say only if he is fast enough.

    +RomanceWriter1 Honestly, it's like a competition for DNF'S between Wherlin and Alonso. Personally, I wish Pascal would return to DTM where he left as the Champion. Formula1 just doesn't seem to be a match for him (back marker or MercedesAMGF1)... He simply doesn't have the stuff! Get in where you fit in... DTM Champion v. F1 back marker? Doesn't take a genius to figure that out... Go back to the DTM! Ridiculous waste of time, energy and resources.

    Honda Engine Well in 2010 when Schumacher did the same with Barrichello in Hungary, he also did not receive a Black Flag , that did not change the fact that all the teams and pilots find the maneuver sick ... Defends maneuvers like this Place It is not here but in Nascar, as I probably already know the reason of his defense, this is in relation to Nationality should stop looking on the personal side and start looking on the professional side ... Congratulations ...

    What do you mean? The Mercedes worked better on the softs anyway plus the superior Mercedes power really favored him on this track. Lewis did a flawless race even while under pressure but not "impressive", not buy the top-drivers standards.

  • @nathanconstable6833

    @nathanconstable6833

    SufferingAddict How not? Vettel was on tyres two compounds softer, so no matter what that should have made a big enough difference in S2. Vettel with slipstream and DRS should still be enough to pass.

  • @SufferingAddict88

    @SufferingAddict88

    6 жыл бұрын

    He did not have DRS at any point in the race actually. He also ran with less downforce than the Mercedes (and less than Kimi also) which pretty much compensates the softer tires and as you could see the two times in the race when Vettel tried to pass, as soon as he was besides Lewis and had no slipstream anymore you could see how the Mercedes started to pull away again because of the better power unit. There was no way Vettel could get past except if Lewis made a major mistake. As I said it's a good performance not to make a mistake when it counts, but a good performance is what you expect from a multiple world champion (which is why I said it's not impressive when one of the top-drives does it, would be different with some rookie).
