in most cases your engine will start to run rough at idle, engine struggles to start, misfires, bad fuel economy as well. you will get a code if your getting misfires. good make spark plugs usually last anywhere from 40 - 60k, they do make ones that last to 100k as well. sounds like you may need to change yours

Nicely done. I would like to know how often they need replacing. Or did you notice a performance lags? I had multiple 4 Cylinder Honda engine on different vehicle. One key note is that if one spark plug or cylinder is having an issue, such dirty gas building up deposits on spark plugs. You will notice a significant power lag or jurking from the engine at times of increased power. It would be very helpful to know why you are replacing the spark plugs.

@603 Mechanic vids - Thanks for the video, but you left out a tid-bit of useful into. The NGK Iridium plugs come from the factory pre-gapped at .030 (+\-), but the gap for that Honda CRV engine is .043. Now, two (very important!) things to be aware of, 1. when gapping Iridium plugs, the tiny electrode is VERY fragile and brittle, like glass! Put no pressure on the iridium electrode or you will toast a $18 plug. 2. DO NOT BUY THESE PLUGS ON AMAZON!!! You have about a 90% chance of getting counterfeit iridium plugs! No kidding! It's pathetic but true, per NGK America. Google (or youtube) counterfeit iridium spark plugs. Easy to tell the counterfeit from the real if you know what to look for, but impossible if you don't.
